Abstract
An eco-friendly catalytic amount (10 mol%) of nanocrystalline ZnO has been explored in the synthesis of new series of ferrocenyl aminophosphonic esters by a three-component reaction of ferrocene carbaldehyde, an amine, and a dialkyl phosphate. The nano ZnO catalyzed the selective synthesis of ferrocenyl aminophosphonates and no intermediate formation of either an imines or α-hydroxy phosphonate were observed. We have modified Merrifield’s resin to provide polymers containing secondary amine groups. Lithiation of the solids gives strongly basic yet poorly nucleophilic resins useful for rearrangement of epoxides to their corresponding allylic alcohols. In this paper, the quality metrics suite for object oriented (OO) design is partially used as an initial concept to develop metrics for statically measuring quality of KADS-domain knowledge bases. KADS-domain knowledge bases have common characteristics with OO, and other distinct features that limit the usage of some OO quality metrics. Therefore, new sets of domain knowledge quality metrics are proposed. The proposed matrices are enriched with an automatic tool used to measure quality of real world expert systems. In order to assess the effectiveness of these proposed quality metrics, these metrics were applied on a sample of real world agriculture application domains developed by CLAES (The Central Laboratory of Agriculture Expert System). As promising and suitable candidates for high‐power applications, multilevel inverters have become one of the most promising solutions in various applications. However, power switching devices are highly subjected to thermal overheating, which leads to shortened lifetime and reduced reliability. Thermal overheating may result from the degradation of power switching devices due to continuous overloading and power cycling. In addition, degradation and faults in the cooling system of power switching devices may cause thermal stresses as well. A new overheating‐tolerant space vector modulation algorithm is proposed in this paper to alleviate thermal stresses from overheated power switching device. The proposed algorithm relies on using the redundancy property between switching states in multilevel inverters to continuously evaluate a cost function of the junction temperature of the overheated device for all possible switching sequence sets and then selects the optimal switching sequence. In addition, the proposed algorithm preserves the DC‐link capacitor voltage without reduction in the output current of the inverter. The proposed algorithm is general, which can be applied to n‐level inverters. Both simulation and experimental results reveal the efficient performance of the proposed algorithm using a three‐level T‐type inverter as a case study. Accordingly, the lifetime and reliability of the inverter are enhanced considerably using the proposed algorithm. © 2016 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan. Drought stress is one of the major abiotic stresses that are a threat to crop production worldwide. Drought stress impairs the plants growth and yield. Therefore, the aim of the present experiment was to select the tolerant genotype/s on the basis of moprpho-physiological and biochemical characteristics of 10 Vicia faba genotypes (Zafar 1, Zafar 2, Shebam, Makamora, Espan, Giza Blanka, Giza 3, C4, C5 and G853) under drought stress. We studied the effect of different levels of drought stress i.e., (i) normal irrigation (ii) mild stress (iii) moderate stress, and (iv) severe stress on plant height (PH) plant−1, fresh weight (FW) and dry weight (DW) plant−1, area leaf−1, leaf relative water content (RWC), proline (Pro) content, total chlorophyll (Total Chl) content, electrolyte leakage (EL), malondialdehyde (MDA), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) content, and activities of catalase (CAT), peroxidase (POD) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) of genotypes of faba bean. Drought stress reduced all growth parameters and Total Chl content of all genotypes. However, the deteriorating effect of drought stress on the growth performance of genotypes “C5” and “Zafar 1” were relatively low due to its better antioxidant enzymes activities (CAT, POD and SOD), and accumulation of Pro and Total Chl, and leaf RWC. In the study, genotype “C5” and “Zafar 1” were found to be relatively tolerant to drought stress and genotypes “G853” and “C4” were sensitive to drought stress. 相似文献
