Successful melting and Mg treatment were conducted using a vortex unit which produced spheroidal graphite (SG) Fe ingots having a percentage carbon equivalent (%CE) ranging from 3.782 to 5.240. Microstructure examination revealed graphite nodules embedded in a white matrix (unetched condition). The variation of %CE proved to have a pronounced effect on the nodule characteristics. The nodule count showed a maximum value at %CE of 4.613. For metal-mould ingots it reached a value of 1584 nodules mm–2, while for sand-mould ingots it reached a value of 970 nodules mm–2. Nodule size was found to be inversely proportional to the nodule count for both sand- and metal-mould ingots. The nodularity of all ingots was, in general, higher than 95%. The density of SG Fe was found to decrease gradually (at %CE=3.782) from 7242 to 6969 kg m–3. The modulus of elasticity (E) showed a boat-like curve having minimum values of 189 and 192 GPa for the sand and metal moulds, respectively.  相似文献

The effect of Ti substitution on the magnetocaloric effect of the La0.70Sr0.30MnO3 perovskite was investigated. The magnetic entropy change (− ΔSM) was deduced by two methods: a Maxwell relation and the Landau theory. The magnetocaloric data displays a large value of the magnetic entropy change (− ΔSM) near the Curie temperature (TC = 210 K), which increases when increasing the applied magnetic field. A good agreement is found between the experimental (− ΔSM) and the one estimated by Landau theory. The relative cooling power values vary from 49 to 288 J kg− 1 upon variation of the applied magnetic field at 1 and 5 T. Under 5 T, the relative cooling power value for La0.70Sr0.30Mn0.90Ti0.10O3 is about 70% of the conventional refrigerant Gd material. As a result, the herein reported compound can be considered as a promising material in magnetic refrigeration technology.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to shed light on complementarities and substitutions between various types of innovation capabilities in knowledge-intensive-based service (KIBS) firms. The data used in this study are the responses of 2,625 innovative firms to the 2003 Statistics Canada Innovation Survey on services. The empirical results suggest the presence of three patterns of complementary innovation capabilities, one pattern of substitute activities and finally, four patterns of innovation capabilities that are independent from each other. Hence, the results suggest the presence of complementarities: first, between internal R&D, external R&D, acquisition of equipment and machinery, and marketing activities; second, between external R&D, acquisition of equipment and machinery, acquisition of external knowledge and marketing activities; third, between acquisition of equipment and machinery, acquisition of external knowledge and marketing activities. Such complementarities lead to the conclusion that, in practice, managers of KIBS firms consider the consolidation of these capabilities jointly instead of separately. The paper also discusses issues related to patterns of capabilities that are substitutes and independent from each other. The results of this study also show significant heterogeneity in the determinants of the different patterns of innovation capabilities.  相似文献

In this work, we propose a finite element method for solving the linear poroelasticity equations. Both displacement and pressure are approximated by continuous piecewise polynomials. The proposed method is sequential, leading to decoupled smaller linear systems compared to the systems resulting from a fully implicit finite element approach. A priori error estimates are derived. For environmental considerations, the substitution of the conventionally used oil-based grinding fluids has nowadays become strongly recommended. Although several alternatives have been proposed, cryogenic cooling by liquid nitrogen is the non-polluting coolant that has been given relatively more attention because of its very low temperature. In this investigation, in order to contribute to developing this promising cooling mode, its beneficial effects on the ground surface integrity of the AISI 304 stainless steel and their consequences on the fatigue lifetime are explored. Results of this investigation show that grinding under cryogenic cooling mode generates surfaces with lower roughness, less defects, higher work hardening and less tensile residual stresses than those obtained on surfaces ground under oil-based grinding fluid. These surface enhancements result into substantial improvements in the fatigue behaviour of components ground under this cooling mode. An increasing rate of almost 15% of the endurance limit at 2 × 106 cycles could be realized. SEM analyses of the fatigue fracture surfaces have shown that the fatigue cracks observed on the specimens ground under cryogenic cooling are shorter (i.e., 30-50 μm) than those generated under oil-based cooling mode (i.e., 150-200 μm). The realized improvements in the surface integrity and in the fatigue behaviour are thought to be related to the reduction of the grinding zone temperature observed under cryogenic cooling, as no significant differences between the grinding force components for both cooling modes have been observed.  相似文献

In this research, a process is discussed for upgrading reformate and power former in Iraq’s Al-Doura refinery, by reducing the amount of benzene in the gasoline product with simultaneous reduction in the gasoline’s ASTM distillation end point. The process consists of fractionation of the reformate and power former to recover that fraction (90–180°C) of hydrocarbons. This was directly used as gasoline without further conversion. The heavy bottom fraction (180°C—EBP) consisting of the aromatic and non-aromatic hydrocarbons was recovered and used as antiknock additives to gasoline. The other fraction with (IBP—90°C) was used as feedstock to producing benzene by solvent extraction. The reformate and power former fractions (90–180°C) are blended with light straight run naphtha at ratio (75: 25) to producing gasoline as well as Al Doura gasoline. It was found that the amount of benzene was reduced from 1.41 wt % in the original pool to 1.37 and 1.31 in the alternative products. Engine emissions were also reduced when using the alternative products compared with original pool product.  相似文献

A language for manipulating ASN.1 print files is defined as an addition to the ASN.1 data definition language as specified in the ISO standards 8824 and 8825. The language has syntax similar in spirit to SQL, and provides analogous operations. Together, ASN.1 and the manipulation language define a model that can represent attribute hierarchies, multivalued attributes, optional attributes, both ordered and unordered attributes and tuples, and unnamed attributes—constructs that are absent in the traditional relational model. In addition, the proposed model allows the semantics of order, homogeneity, optionality, choosability, and uniqueness to be attached to constructs and construct elements. The approach is well suited for modeling data where form is important, such as text and flat file databases having ad hoc formats. It also supports modeling relations. The primary motivation for developing this language is to provide a common model for a database integration approach where some of the databases are in the form of formatted flat file text, while others are relational. Although the approach is general and can be applied in many different areas, scientific database and tool integration was the primary motive for its development.  相似文献

This paper proposes a system to detect and measure blink rate to determine fatigue levels. The method involved analysing specific frames to determine that a blink occurred, and then monitoring the time between successive blinks. The program was simulated in python using a Raspberry Pi Zero and a standard USB camera. For the blink rate detection block, a gate level schematic was implemented in Cadence software using 65 nm CMOS technology. The design was based around an asynchronous 6-bit based edge counter which was designed using D-flip-flops. The simulation calculated the average blink rate and compared this to the most recent blink rate. The outcome would determine if an alarm signal should be sent to the alarm. The system consumed 130 μA from a 1.2 V power supply.  相似文献
