We have developed a magnetic flux leakage (MFL) system using magnetic resistive (MR) sensors for detecting two dimensional magnetic field components, and an induction coil that generates low magnetic field strengths and extremely low frequencies. The signal at each scanned measurement point (i) was divided by the signal strength Mmes,i and phase αi by a lock-in amplifier. Using the strength Mmes,i and phase αi, we calculated the imaginary part of the signal using the common phase β. By optimization of the common phase β to the imaginary part, the analyzed scanning data curve was shown to be effective in estimating the size (depth and diameter) of back-side pits on a ferrous plate. Comparing the two dimensional magnetic field components of leakage, the imaginary part of the y-component parallel to the induced magnetic field was found to be suitable for detecting the back-side pits. 相似文献

This article presents an experimental analysis of the organic content of two serpentinized peridotite rocks of the terrestrial upper mantle. The samples have been dredged on the floor of the Ashadze and Logatchev hydrothermal sites on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. High-speed DCFL (direct-coupled FET logic) circuits implemented with advanced GaAs enhancement-mode J-FETs are discussed. A divide-by-four static frequency divider operates at up to 6 GHz with a power consumption of 20 mW/flip-flop. A high channel concentration of more than 1×1018 cm-3 together with a very shallow junction depth of less than 30 nm for the p+-gate results in a transconductance as high as 340 mS/mm at a gate length of 0.8 μm. Open-tube diffusion of Zn using diethylzinc and arsine makes it possible to control a very shallow p+-layer less than 10 nm thick. ALG-2, a 22-kDa penta-EF-hand protein, is involved in cell death, signal transduction, membrane trafficking, etc., by interacting with various proteins in mammalian cells in a Ca2+-dependent manner. Most known ALG-2-interacting proteins contain proline-rich regions in which either PPYPXnYP (type 1 motif) or PXPGF (type 2 motif) is commonly found. Previous X-ray crystal structural analysis of the complex between ALG-2 and an ALIX peptide revealed that the peptide binds to the two hydrophobic pockets. In the present study, we resolved the crystal structure of the complex between ALG-2 and a peptide of Sec31A (outer shell component of coat complex II, COPII; containing the type 2 motif) and found that the peptide binds to the third hydrophobic pocket (Pocket 3). While amino acid substitution of Phe85, a Pocket 3 residue, with Ala abrogated the interaction with Sec31A, it did not affect the interaction with ALIX. On the other hand, amino acid substitution of Tyr180, a Pocket 1 residue, with Ala caused loss of binding to ALIX, but maintained binding to Sec31A. We conclude that ALG-2 recognizes two types of motifs at different hydrophobic surfaces. Furthermore, based on the results of serial mutational analysis of the ALG-2-binding sites in Sec31A, the type 2 motif was newly defined. 相似文献

The high compatibility of fluorene‐based polyester (FBP‐HX) as a polymer matrix for multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) is discussed. A low surface resistivity due to the fine dispersion of MWCNTs in FBP‐HX and polycarbonate (PC) is reported. With a solution‐casting method, a percolation threshold with the addition of between 0.5 and 1.0 wt % MWCNTs was observed in the MWCNT/PC and MWCNT/FBP‐HX composites. Because of the coverage of FBP‐HX on the MWCNTs, a higher surface resistivity and a higher percolation ratio of the MWCNT/FBP‐HX composites were achieved compared with the values for the MWCNT/PC composites. In the MWCNT/FBP‐HX composites, MWCNTs covered with FBP‐HX were observed by scanning electronic microscopy. Because of the coverage of FBP‐HX on the MWCNTs, FBP‐HX interfered with the electrical pathway between the MWCNTs. The MWCNTs in FBP‐HX were covered with a 5‐nm layer of FBP‐HX, but the MWCNTs in the MWCNT/PC composites were in their naked state. MWCNT/PC sheets demonstrated the specific Raman absorption of the MWCNTs only with the addition of MWCNTs of 1 wt % or above because of the coverage of the surface of the composite sheet by naked MWCNTs. In contrast, MWCNT/FBP‐HX retained the behavior of the matrix resin until a 3 wt % addition of MWCNTs was reached because of the coverage of MWCNTs by the FBP‐HX resin, induced by its high wettability. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The mean concentrations and daily intake of four antifungal agents were estimated based on the results of an analysis of 7,005 samples of food obtained in official inspections by Japanese local governments in fiscal year 1998. The mean concentration of diphenyl was 0.0004% of the allowable limit, and those of imazalil, o-phenylphenol, and thiabendazole were 14.0%, 3.5%, and 5.7%, respectively. The daily intakes of these antifungal agents per person, estimated from their concentrations and the daily consumption of the foods, were 0.000326, 1.89, 11.5, and 23.3 micrograms, respectively, and assuming a body weight of 50 kg, the amounts of these antifungal agents consumed were 0.000013%, 0.15%, 0.12%, and 0.47% of the acceptable daily intake, respectively. These values are similar to the values obtained on the basis of the results of the official inspection in fiscal years 1994 and 1996, except that the amount of diphenyl is much lower (1/100). 相似文献

Processing through the application of severe plastic deformation (SPD) has become an absorbing tool because it provides the
potential for refining the grain size of polycrystalline bulk metals to the submicrometer or even the nanometer level. Several
SPD methods are now available, but the more promising procedures seem to be equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) and high-pressure
torsion (HPT). This report examines these procedures with an emphasis on the principles of grain refinement and the mechanical
properties developed at high temperatures in materials after processing by ECAP and the hardness homogeneity and microstructural
