The influence of carbonation on the evolution of lactose, galactose and glucose in fermented milks with added probiotic bacteria (Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus acidophilus and/or Bifidobacterium bifidum) was evaluated and related to beta-galactosidase activity of starter strains. During incubation and first days of refrigeration, lactose hydrolysis resulting in the liberation of galactose and glucose occurred in CT (Streptococcus thermophilus/Lb. casei), AT (Str. thermophilus/Lb. acidophilus) and ABT fermented milks (Str. thermophilus/Lb. acidophilus/Bifid. bifidum). Levels of galactose were higher than those of glucose and could be related to the preferential consumption of glucose by actively growing bacteria. Through the incubation, lactose and monosaccharide levels were not affected by milk carbonation. However, during refrigerated storage the presence of this gas was associated with slightly lower content of lactose and higher levels of galactose and glucose in AT and ABT products but not in CT fermented milks. Through the refrigeration galactose was moderately utilised by Lb. acidophilus in AT products whereas the presence of Bifid. bifidum seems to prevent the consumption of this sugar in ABT fermented milks. Glucose remained constant, with minor variations in CT products but a continuous increase of this sugar occurred in carbonated AT and ABT fermented milks during storage. Beta-galactosidase activity displayed by Str. thermophilus strains was similar at pH 6.5 (initial pH of non-carbonated samples) and pH 6.3 (initial pH of carbonated samples) whereas Lb. acidophilus LaA3 showed greater beta-galactosidase activity at pH 6.3 than at higher pH values. Thus, the enhanced metabolic activity of Lb. acidophilus caused by the low initial pH of carbonated milk also promoted higher cellular beta-galactosidase activity that could have released greater amounts of galactose and glucose from lactose in AT and ABT fermented milks through the refrigerated period. In CT fermented milks, similar beta-galactosidase activity levels of Str. thermophilus at pH 6.5 and 6.3 together with the absence of beta-galactosidase activity in Lb. casei could explain the lack of differences on glucose and galactose content between carbonated and non-carbonated samples. 相似文献

Enrofloxacin is a synthetic second‐generation fluoroquinolone used as an antimicrobial agent exclusively in veterinary medicine. To simulate the treatment of wastewater contaminated by enrofloxacin, four‐day long fed‐batch runs were carried out according to the Fenton process with an enrofloxacin solution as model, to which hydrogen peroxide and ferrous ion were added twice a day. The residual enrofloxacin concentration was practically coincident to that detected at the end of the batch tests. Hydrogen peroxide was almost completely consumed after each feeding period, while the total organic carbon (TOC) concentration decreased gradually within three days, corresponding to a reduction > 58 %. From the third day on, the TOC falling rate was quite low. A yellow sludge settled due to the precipitation of both Fe(OH)3 and a complex formed by ferric ion with adsorbed enrofloxacin and/or its oxidation products. 相似文献

Vanadium-based catalysts supported on ceria were studied for the direct and selective oxidation of H2S to sulphur and water at low temperature.Catalysts with two vanadium loading (20–50 wt% of V2O5) were prepared, characterized and tested at temperature of 150–200 °C in order to identify the best catalytic formulation. The most promising catalyst was the sample with the 20 wt% of V2O5 that showed 99% of sulphur selectivity and equilibrium H2S conversion at 150 °C.The effect of the components of a typical biogas stream (CH4, CO2 and H2O) was studied at 150 °C in order to investigate the possible formation of secondary products such COS, CS2. No significant effect was observed in terms of H2S conversion (99%) and selectivity to SO2 (<1%) by adding CH4 and CO2 to the feed stream. Furthermore, the effect of the H2S inlet concentration, temperature, contact time and molar feed ratio (O2/H2S) were also investigated at a reaction temperature of 80 °C.Finally, time on stream tests of 30 h were performed at 80 and 120 °C, in order to examine the catalyst stability. 相似文献

Transconductance of rail‐to‐rail input stages in low‐voltage operational amplifiers depends on the presence of a large common mode input signal. Corrections must be implemented in order to correct it. Nevertheless, techniques actually used, based on switching or feedforward, still give relevant deviation from the constant transconductance condition. In this paper we present a new architecture based on extraction and feedback to the gain control, directly of the value of the transconductance of the amplifier to be controlled. This quantity does not contain the signal to be amplified, and thus once fed back, it does not affect the overall stage gain. Abstract: The seismic risk of the buildings of Barcelona, Spain, is analyzed by using a method based on the capacity spectrum. The seismic hazard in the area of the city is described by means of the reduced 5% damped elastic response spectrum. Obtaining fragility curves for the most important building types of an urban center requires an important amount of information about the structures and the use of nonlinear structural analysis tools. The information on the buildings of Barcelona was obtained by collecting, arranging, improving, and completing the database of the housing and current buildings. The buildings existing in Barcelona are mainly of two types: unreinforced masonry structures and reinforced concrete buildings with waffled slab floors. In addition, the Arc-View software was used to create a GIS tool for managing the collected information to develop seismic risk scenarios. This study shows that the vulnerability of the buildings is significant and therefore, in spite of the medium to low seismic hazard in the area of the city, the expected seismic risk is considerable. 相似文献

Chagas disease is caused by the protozoan parasite Trypanosoma cruzi and affects over 6 million people worldwide. Development of new drugs to treat this disease remains a priority since those currently available have variable efficacy and frequent adverse effects, especially during the long regimens required for treating the chronic stage of the disease. T. cruzi modulates the host cell-metabolism to accommodate the cell cytosol into a favorable growth environment and acquire nutrients for its multiplication. In this study we evaluated the specific anti-T. cruzi activity of nine bio-energetic modulator compounds. Notably, we identified that 17-DMAG, which targets the ATP-binding site of heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90), has a very high (sub-micromolar range) selective inhibition of the parasite growth. This inhibitory effect was also highly potent (IC50 = 0.27 μmol L−1) against the amastigote intracellular replicative stage of the parasite. Moreover, molecular docking results suggest that 17-DMAG may bind T. cruzi Hsp90 homologue Hsp83 with good affinity. Evaluation in a mouse model of chronic T. cruzi infection did not show parasite growth inhibition, highlighting the difficulties encountered when going from in vitro assays onto preclinical drug developmental stages. 相似文献

Plant specialized metabolites (SMs) play an important role in the interaction with the environment and are part of the plant defense response. These natural products are volatile, semi-volatile and non-volatile compounds produced from common building blocks deriving from primary metabolic pathways and rapidly evolved to allow a better adaptation of plants to environmental cues. Specialized metabolites include terpenes, flavonoids, alkaloids, glucosinolates, tannins, resins, etc. that can be used as phytochemicals, food additives, flavoring agents and pharmaceutical compounds. Hydrogen is a potential green energy vector. Since the heating of the reforming processes commonly used for its production is obtained by burning hydrocarbons, it has a substantial CO2 footprint. One of the most critical aspects in the methane steam reforming (MSR) reaction is the heat transfer to the catalytic volume, due to the high heat fluxes required to obtain high methane conversions. Consequently, the reactor has complex geometries, along with the heating medium being characterized by temperatures higher than 1000 °C; expensive construction materials and high reaction volumes are therefore needed, resulting in slow thermal transients. These aspects increase the costs (both operative and fixed) as well as cause a decrease in the whole process efficiency. The heat transfer limitations due to the endothermicity of methane steam reforming reaction could be effectively overcome by microwave (MW) heating. This heating technique, that depends only on the dielectric properties of the materials, can result in an efficient and faster method for transferring heat directly to the catalyst, thus generating the heat directly inside the catalytic volume. In this work, Ni-based catalysts, differing from each other by the Ni loading (7 and 15 wt% with respect to the washcoat) were prepared. The catalysts were characterized by means of several techniques and tested in the MW-assisted methane steam reforming reaction. Furthermore, the energy balance of the entire process was performed to calculate the energy efficiency, making a preliminary evaluation of its feasibility in distributed hydrogen production also possible. The results of the preliminary tests showed that the prepared structured catalysts are very susceptible to the MW radiation, and that in the presence of the MSR reaction, it is possible to make the system reach a temperature of 900 °C. In the same tests, the CH4 conversion showed a good approach to the thermodynamic equilibrium values starting at temperatures of about 800 °C at a value of gas hourly space velocity (GHSV) of about 5000 h?1. The energy efficiency of the lab-scale system, calculated as the ratio among the energy absorbed by the system and the energy supplied by the microwaves, was about 50%. Future studies will deal with the microwave reactor optimization, aiming at the increase of the energy efficiency of the system, as well as to obtain a higher CH4 conversion at lower temperatures and increase the H2 yield and selectivity. 相似文献

This paper reports the preparation and the evaluation of the performance of Ni-based powder catalysts with low nickel loading on the CO2 methanation reaction, that is an integral part of the power-to-gas (PtG) technology. CeO2, CeZrO4 and CeO2/SiO2 were selected as possible supports, and the results of this first screening pointed out that 10%Ni/CeO2 catalyst could offer the best reaction performances because of ceria's peculiar characteristics. Moreover, the promotion of this promising formulation with the addition of a small amount of noble metals (Pt, Ru, Rh) was investigated, showing that platinum in particular can enhance the catalyst performances. A further study related to the noble metal loading pointed out that platinum and ruthenium have a different optimum loading condition: this result, together with the activity tests performed on monometallic formulations with only the noble metal, suggested that the two metals are able to catalyse two different reactions, thus promoting two different reaction mechanisms. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate the consumer acceptance and preference of a novel cheese coagulated with vegetal rennet and microbial transglutaminase (V + TG) as an alternative for lacto‐vegetarian consumers. The evolution of the sensory and instrumental parameters throughout the storage time was studied. Cheese with animal rennnet and microbial transglutaminase (A + TG), vegetal rennet alone (V) and animal rennet alone (A) were also studied as controls. The consumer test showed that the V + TG cheese was preferred and showed high texture and taste acceptance scores. This cheese could be successful for its sensory acceptance and as an alternative for the lacto‐vegetarian market. 相似文献
