The logarithmic companding technique has shown to be extremely useful in speech quantization with rate of 8 bits/sample. However, for lower bit rates it is not the ideal solution for high quality speech coding. Because of that, in this paper we establish source coding scheme which enables better spectrum efficiency for input that has a large dynamic range. Since our wish is also to improve signal quality in comparison with quality defined with standards G.711 and G.712, we opt for adaptive technique application to the speech coding. Our research shows that proper design of forward gain-adaptive polar quantization can enable compression of about 1 bit/sample as well as significantly better quality than in case of using coder designed according to standard G.711. Furthermore, performances can be sustained over the whole speech dynamic range. Also, if the requisite speech quality is not supposed to be lower than G.712 standard quality, the achieved compression can be almost 1.5 bits/sample. Besides, we propose knew simple encoding rule which can additionally reduce bit rate for 0.1 bit/sample.  相似文献

Oxygen reduction was studied on palladium, cadmium and zinc ad-atom modified single crystal Au(111) electrodes. The electrodes were modified by underpotential deposition process and their activity towards oxygen reduction was studied in alkaline media by voltammetry. The reduction peaks obtained were compared with those of bare Au(111), Pd disc and bulk deposited Cd electrodes. Enhanced catalytic activity of the Au(111) electrode in the presence of Pd, Cd and Zn ad-layer can be attributed to a change in surface charge and energy by ad-layer formation. In oxygen saturated medium a well defined sharp reduction peak was observed at ?0.12 V for 1/5 ML Pd ad atom modified Au(111) electrode while it was positioned at ?0.18 V on a Pd disk electrode. The best shift in reduction peak potential was obtained with 2/5 ML Pd ad atom modified Au(111) electrode with similar current density of Pd disc electrode.  相似文献

Adsorption of cationic polyacrylamide onto sepiolite   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
The adsorption of PAM onto sepiolite from aqueous solutions has been investigated systematically as a function of some parameters such as calcination temperature of sepiolite, pH, ionic strength and temperature. The adsorption of cationic polyacrylamide (PAM) increases with pH from 5.50 to 11.00, temperature from 25 to 55 degrees C and ionic strength from 0 to 0.1molL(-1). The sepiolite sample calcined at 200 degrees C has a higher adsorption capacity than the other calcined samples. Adsorption isotherms of PAM onto sepiolite have been determined and correlated with common isotherm equations such as Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models. The Langmuir isotherm model appeared to fit the isotherm data better than the Freundlich isotherm model. The physical properties of this adsorbent are consistent with the parameters obtained from the isotherm equations. The zeta potentials of sepiolite suspensions have been measured in aqueous solutions of NaCl and different PAM concentrations and pH. From the experimental results: (i) pH strongly alters the zeta potential of sepiolite, (ii) sepiolite has an isoelectric point at about pH 6.6 in water and about pH 8 in 250mgL(-1) PAM concentration, (iii) PAM changes the interface charge from negative to positive for sepiolite. Effect of temperature on adsorption has been quantified by calculating various thermodynamic parameters such as Gibbs free energy, enthalpy and entropy. The dimensionless separation factor (R(L)) has shown that sepiolite can be used for adsorption of PAM from aqueous solutions.  相似文献

Nuclear and hydrogen are considered to be the most promising alternatives energy sources in terms of meeting future demand and providing a CO?‐free environment, and interest in the development of more cost‐effective hydrogen production plants is increasing—and nuclear‐powered hydrogen generation plants may be a viable alternative. This paper is a report on investigating the application of new generation nuclear power plants to hydrogen production and development of an associated techno‐economic model. In this paper, theoretical and computational assessments of generations II, III+, and IV nuclear power plants for hydrogen generation scenarios have been reported. Technical analyses were conducted on each reactor type—in terms of the design standard, fuel specification, overnight capital cost, and hydrogen generation. In addition, a theoretical model was developed for calculating various hydrogen generation parameters, and it was then extended to include an economic assessment of nuclear power plant‐based hydrogen generation. The Hydrogen Economic Evaluation Program originally developed by the International Atomic Energy Agency was used for calculating various parameters, including hydrogen production and storage costs, as well as equity, operation and maintenance (O&M), and capital costs. The results from each nuclear reactor type were compared against reactor parameters, and the ideal candidate reactor was identified. The simulation results also verified theoretically proven results. The main objective of the research was to conduct a prequalification assessment for a cogeneration plant, by developing a model that could be used for technical and economic analysis of nuclear hydrogen plant options. It was assessed that high‐temperature gas‐cooled reactors (HTGR‐PM and PBR200) represented the most economical and viable plant options for hydrogen production. This research has helped identify the way forward for the development of a commercially viable, nuclear power‐driven, hydrogen generation plant.  相似文献

Methyl-tri-n-butylammonium methylsulfate (BIL) was incorporated into acrylic resin to improve antistatic property of acrylic polymer (AP). In order to avoid reduction in the mechanical properties of acrylic film and to reach higher electrical conductivity values, the combination of graphite nanoplates (Gr) and BIL was used. The effects of incorporation of BIL and Gr into AP on UV-blocking properties and UV transmittance data of acrylic films were measured. After 120 days, AP containing 5 wt% BIL and 0.01 wt% Gr, and AP+15 wt% BIL exhibited antistatic property. While BIL incorporation into acrylic resin deteriorated the mechanical properties, 0.01 wt% Gr incorporation increased the tensile strength by 83%.  相似文献

The incorporation of microwave and pulsed electric field (PEF) technologies in optimising the extraction of polyphenols from defatted canola seed cake was determined by Box‐Behnken response surface methodology, using three parameters of microwave treatment (power, time and liquid: solid (L:S) ratio) and four parameters of PEF (ethanol concentration, time, frequency and voltage). After microwave and PEF pretreatments, the polyphenols of defatted canola seed cake were extracted by ultrasound treatment under fixed variables (200 W of ultrasonic power, 70 °C of water bath and 20 min of extraction time). The measured responses were total phenolics, total flavonoids, the DPPH˙ scavenging activity and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP). The maximum yields of all responses were achieved under optimum conditions of microwave processing (5 min, L:S ratio of 6.0 and 633.3 W) and PEF‐assisted extraction (30 V, 30 Hz, 10% ethanol concentration and 10 s).  相似文献

Early screening of mental disorders plays a crucial role in diagnosis and treatment. This study explores how data‐driven methods can leverage the information available on social media platforms to predict postpartum depression (PPD). A generalized approach is proposed where linguistic features are extracted from user‐generated textual posts on social media and categorized as general, depressive, and PPD representative using multiple machine learning techniques. We find that techniques used in our study exhibit strong predictive capabilities for PPD content. Holdout validation showed that multilayer perceptron outperformed other techniques such as support vector machine and logistic regression used in this study with 91.7% accuracy for depressive content identification and up to 86.9% accuracy for PPD content prediction. This work adopts a hierarchical approach to predict PPD. Therefore, the reported PPD accuracy represents the performance of the model to correctly classify PPD content from non‐PPD depressive content.  相似文献

Given the high demand for miniaturized optoelectronic circuits, plasmonic devices with the capability of generating coherent radiation at deep subwavelength scales have attracted great interest for diverse applications such as nanoantennas, single photon sources, and nanosensors. However, the design of such lasing devices remains a challenging issue because of the long structure requirements for producing strong radiation feedback. Here, a plasmonic laser made by using a nanoscale hyperbolic metamaterial cube, called hyperbolic metacavity, on a multiple quantum‐well (MQW), deep‐ultraviolet emitter is presented. The specifically designed metacavity merges plasmon resonant modes within the cube and provides a unique resonant radiation feedback to the MQW. This unique plasmon field allows the dipoles of the MQW with various orientations into radiative emission, achieving enhancement of spontaneous emission rate by a factor of 33 and of quantum efficiency by a factor of 2.5, which is beneficial for coherent laser action. The hyperbolic metacavity laser shows a clear clamping of spontaneous emission above the threshold, which demonstrates a near complete radiation coupling of the MQW with the metacavity. This approach shown here can greatly simplify the requirements of plasmonic nanolaser with a long plasmonic structure, and the metacavity effect can be extended to many other material systems.  相似文献
