The algorithm recognizes the given polygonP as a palm polygon by computing the palm kernel ofP. Adaptive relay co-ordination using a busbar splitting approach for a system integrity protection scheme 下载免费PDF全文
Power system faults can often result in excessively high currents. If sustained for a long time, such high currents can damage system equipment. Thus, it is desirable to operate the relays in the minimum possible time. In this paper, a busbar splitting approach is used for adaptive relay setting and co-ordination purposes for a system integrity protection scheme (SIPS). Whenever a fault occurs, the busbar splitting scheme splits a bus to convert a loop into a radial structure. The splitting schemes are chosen such that the net fault current is also reduced. Busbar splitting eliminates the dependency upon minimum breakpoints set (MBPS) and reduces the relay operating time, thus making it adaptive. The proposed methodology is incorporated into the IEEE 14-bus and IEEE 30-bus systems with single and multiple fault conditions. The modeling and simulation carried out in ETAP, and the results of the proposed busbar splitting-based relay co-ordination are compared with the MBPS splitting-based relay co-ordination. 相似文献

There has been increased interest on the impact of mobile devices such as PDAs and Tablet PCs in introducing new pedagogical
approaches and active learning experiences. We propose an intelligent system that efficiently addresses the inherent subjectivity
in student perception of note taking and information retrieval. We employ the idea of cross indexing the digital ink notes
with matching electronic documents in the repository. Latent Semantic Indexing is used to perform document and page level
indexing. Thus for each retrieved document, the user can go over to the relevant pages that match the query. Techniques to
handle problems such as polysemy (multiple meanings of a word) in large databases, document folding and no match for query
are discussed. We tested our system for its performance, usability and effectiveness in the learning process. The results
from the exploratory studies reveal that the proposed system provides a highly enhanced student learning experience, thereby
facilitating high test scores.

Let s be a point source of light inside a polygon P of n vertices. A polygonal path from s to some point t inside P is called a diffuse reflection path if the turning points of the path lie on edges of?P. A?diffuse reflection path is said to be optimal if it has the minimum number of reflections on the path. The problem of computing a diffuse reflection path from s to t inside P has not been considered explicitly in the past. We present three different algorithms for this problem which produce suboptimal paths. For constructing such a path, the first algorithm uses a greedy method, the second algorithm uses a transformation of a minimum link path, and the third algorithm uses the edge–edge visibility graph of?P. The first two algorithms are for polygons without holes, and they run in O(n+klogn) time, where k denotes the number of reflections in the constructed path. The third algorithm is for polygons with or without holes, and it runs in O(n 2) time. The number of reflections in the path produced by this third algorithm can be at most three times that of an optimal diffuse reflection path. Though the combinatorial approach used in the third algorithm gives a better bound on the number of reflections on the path, the first and the second algorithms stand on the merit of their elegant geometric approaches based on local geometric information. 相似文献

A theoretical model has been developed to study the local heat transfer coefficient of a condensing vapour in the presence of a noncondensable gas, where the gas/vapour mixture is flowing downward inside a vertical tube. The two-phase heat transfer is analysed using an annular flow pattern with a liquid film at the tube wall and a turbulent gas/vapour core. The gas/vapour core is modeled using the analogy between heat and mass transfer. The model incorporates Nusselt equation with McAdams modifier and Blangetti model for calculating the film heat transfer coefficient, Moody and Wallis correlations to account for film waviness effect on gas/vapour boundary layer. The suction effect due to condensation, developing flow and property variation of the gas phase is also considered. A comparative study of heat transfer coefficient and vapour mass flow rate has been made with various models to account for condensate film resistance and condensate film roughness. Results show that for very high Reynolds number, the condensation heat transfer coefficient is higher than the film heat transfer coefficient. 相似文献

This article presents the deformation behavior of high-strength pearlitic steel deformed by triaxial compression to achieve
ultra-fine ferrite grain size with fragmented cementite. The consequent evolution of microstructure and texture has been studied
using scanning electron microscopy, electron back-scatter diffraction, and X-ray diffraction. The synergistic effect of diffusion
and deformation leads to the uniform dissolution of cementite at higher temperature. At lower temperature, significant grain
refinement of ferrite phase occurs by deformation and exhibits a characteristic deformation texture. In contrast, the high-temperature
deformed sample shows a weaker texture with cube component for the ferrite phase, indicating the occurrence of recrystallization.
The different mechanisms responsible for the refinement of ferrite as well as the fragmentation of cementite and their interaction
with each other have been analyzed. Viscoplastic self-consistent simulation was employed to understand deformation texture

Here we report the preparation and characterization of a green composite based on high‐density polyethylene and Kaans grass (Saccharum spontaneum). The composites were prepared by conventional melt‐mixing method, using maximum loading of Kaans grass in powder form (KG‐filler) to achieve acceptable range of required properties. Maleic anhydride grafted polyethylene was used as compatibilizer to achieve effective interaction for improved surface adhesion which was confirmed by FT‐IR spectroscopy. Morphological studies revealed good interaction between the base polymer matrices and the KG‐fillers that improved the mechanical and thermal properties of the composites up to certain (10 phr) KG‐filler loading. Study on water absorption property revealed moderate increase in weight at higher KG‐filler loadings. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and melt flow index (MFI) studies indicated retention of thermal stability and flow property of the HDPE/KG‐filler composite at lower filler loadings. POLYM. Solid acids comprising 12-tungstophosphoric acid and 12-tungstosilicic acid anchored on to metal oxide (ZrO2), zeolites (Hβ and HZSM-5), and mesoporous material (MCM-41) were synthesized, characterized and used as the catalysts. A solvent free green route to carry out the Biginelli cyclocondensation reaction is described over synthesized catalysts. The method provides an efficient and much improved protocol of Biginelli reaction in terms of solvent free conditions, high yields up to 98 %, very short reaction time of 15 min, and simple work-up procedure. Based on the above study a best catalyst among all is proposed and is recycled up to four times without any significant change in % yields of the product. Another important feature of this method is survival of a variety of functional groups under the reaction conditions. 相似文献
