Photolysis of poly(3-buten-2-one) (PMVK), poly(4,4-dimethyl-1-penten-3-one) (PBVK), and poly(3-methyl-3-buten-2-one) (PMIK) were carried out in dioxane under oxygen or nitrogen bubbling. The main chain degradations of PBVK and PMIK were quenched and polymeric peroxides were produced. The heat treatment of the polymer irradiated in the presence of oxygen promoted the degradation. Energy absorbability of foamed rigid materials, polyurethane and glass, was studied under a compressive load. The brittle materials were proved to absorb much energy in a manner similar to ductile materials. A mechanism for such high energy absorption was proposed, based on a fracture model in which crushing of cells initiates at the weakest cell followed by propagation to cells lying in the layer containing the weakest one and lying in a direction perpendicular to the compressive force; then the crushing propagates to another layer under the compressive force after the completion of the first layer crushing. In the period of one layer crushing, the strain energy stored in the period of compression prior to the crushing is temporarily released, and it is stored again in the period of compression after the crushing. The store and release of strain energy is assumed to be repeated until all cell layers are crushed. This mechanism of layer-by-layer crushing allows the cells to absorb strain energy repeatedly, and causes high energy absorption in the brittle foamed material. The calculated energy based on the mechanism agrees well with the observed one. 相似文献

In this paper, we present a stable sound source tracking method based on two updating algorithm. In the method, an eigenvector spanning the signal subspace is updated by using the Projection Approximation Subspace Tracking (PAST) algorithm without the eigen‐decomposition of a correlation matrix. Then, a constrained minimization problem is formulated taking into account the stability, and the solution is determined successively by applying the Interior Point Least Square (IPLS) algorithm. As a result, stable tracking can be achieved without the peak search of a MUltiple SIgnal Classification (MUSIC) spectrum, which often requires enormous computational costs because many complex multiplying operations are involved. A hydrogen internal combustion engine (HICE) wastes more heat, and producing nearly three times more water than a conventional engine. This paper describes the principle behind a novel waste heat recovery sub-system that exploits the water produced by an HICE as the working fluid for an open-cycle power generation system based on the Rankine cycle. Water from the HICE exhaust is superheated by the waste heat from the HICE and used to produce power in a steam expander. A fundamental thermodynamic model shows the contribution of the sub-system to the overall thermal efficiency of the HICE at various engine speeds, with and without a condenser. The results show that the condenser is not cost-effective and that the overall thermal efficiency with the proposed sub-system is 27.2% to 33.6%, representing improvements of 2.9% to 3.7%, at engine speeds of 1500 to 4500 rpm. 相似文献

Traditional (low temperature, long time) and novel (low temperature, short time) sous‐vide cooking of lean tuna were characterized by analyzing the effects of thermal protein denaturation (TPD) on quality attributes, such as color, appearance, shrinkage, drip loss, and texture. TPD was analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry and estimated for several thermal schedules by kinetic analysis, following the dynamic method. When heated at a rate of 10 °C/min, myosin began to denature at around 35 °C. Actin did not denature, even when the temperature rose to approximately 51 °C, until the denaturation of myosin was complete. However, actin began to denature at approximately 58 °C and was completely denatured at 76 °C. Actin denaturation had a stronger effect than myosin denaturation on texture changes, whereas myosin denaturation was responsible for changes in color and appearance. A better preservation of tuna quality was obtained by novel sous‐vide cooking over the traditional sous‐vide method.
Practical applications
The results of this study are useful to both the research community and industry because they provide quantitative characterization of the consequences of sous‐vide cooking method on food quality explained by estimating TPD. Moreover, the kinetic parameters of the denaturation rate collected for kinetic modeling of the TPD of tuna, not only have application to simulate denaturation of actin and myosin under different thermal schedules of sous‐vide cooking, but also they can be used for the analysis of additional thermal treatments. 相似文献70.
