Thermal conductivities (κ) of melt-grown bulk ZnO samples thermally treated under different conditions were measured using scanning thermal microscopy. Samples annealed in air at 1050°C for 3 h and treated with N-plasma at 750°C for 1 min. exhibited κ=1.35±0.08 W/cm-K and κ=1.47±0.08 W/cm-K, respectively. These are the highest values reported for ZnO. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) and conductive-AFM measurements revealed that surface carrier concentration as well as surface morphology affected the thermal conductivity.  相似文献

Ninety‐six nylon pairs were prepared, including red, yellow, green, and blue standards, each at two lightness levels with CIE94 ΔE units ranging from 0.15 to 4.01. Visual assessments of acceptability were carried out by 21 females. Logistic regression compared visual results to four color‐difference equations, CIELAB, CMC, CIE94, and CIEDE2000. Membranes are being increasingly used as an economic alternative for wastewater treatment compared to conventional methods. Ultrafiltration membranes are widely used in metal ions’ rejection. Sulfonated Polyethersulfone (SPES)/polysulfone (PSf) blend flat sheet membranes are prepared using polar solvent N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) by the dry–wet phase inversion technique. Polyethylene glycol (PEG-200) is used as a non-solvent additive in the casting solution. The effect of PSf/SPES blend ratio on the morphology, hydrophilicity, water content, porosity, hydraulic resistance, pure water flux, compaction, and molecular weight cut-off (MWCO) of the prepared membranes was studied and found to be improved significantly by the incorporation of SPES in the dope solution. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies revealed that the membranes formed had an asymmetric structure with a thin skin layer and porous sublayer. The prepared membranes were used for rejection of Cu(II) and Zn(II) which are complexed with water-soluble chelating polymer polyethyleneimine. The results show that the order of rejection is Cu(II) ion > Zn(II) ion. Thus, it is worth mentioning that the PSf/SPES blend ultrafiltration membranes prepared in this study would offer immense potential in removal of toxic metal ion from industrial effluents.  相似文献

Diffractive light trapping in 1.5 μm thick crystal silicon films is studied experimentally through hemispherical reflection measurements and theoretically through rigorous coupled-wave analysis modeling. The gratings were fabricated by nanoimprinting of dielectric precursor films. The model data, which match the experimental results well without the use of any fitting parameters, are used to extract the light trapping efficiency. Diffractive light trapping is studied as a function of incidence angle, and an enhancement of light absorption is found for incidence angles up to 50° for both TE and TM polarizations.  相似文献

Handover management for mobile nodes in IPv6 networks   总被引:16,自引:0,他引:16  
We analyze IPv6 handover over wireless LAN. Mobile IPv6 is designed to manage mobile nodes' movements between wireless IPv6 networks. Nevertheless, the active communications of a mobile node are interrupted until the handover completes. Therefore, several extensions to Mobile IPv6 have been proposed to reduce the handover latency and the number of lost packets. We describe two of them, hierarchical Mobile IPv6, which manages local movements into a domain, and fast handover protocol, which allows the use of layer 2 triggers to anticipate the handover. We expose the specific handover algorithms proposed by all these methods. We also evaluate the handover latency over IEEE 802.11b wireless LAN. We compare the layer 2 and layer 3 handover latency in the Mobile IPv6 case in order to show the saving of time expected by using anticipation. We conclude by showing how to adapt the IEEE 802.11b control frames to set up such anticipation.  相似文献

PURPOSE: The objective was to evaluate the degradation profile of the elastase inhibitor DMP 777 and lay the foundation for formulation development. METHODS: The pKa was determined by potentiometric titration in mixed-aqueous solvents. The degradation kinetics were studied as a function of pH, buffer concentration, ionic strength, methanol concentration and temperature using a stability-indicating HPLC assay. The degradation products were identified by LC-MS, NMR, and by comparison with authentic samples. RESULTS: The pKa for the protonated piperazine nitrogen was estimated to be 7.04. The pH-rate profile is described by specific acid-, water-, and specific base-catalyzed pathways. The pH of maximum stability is in the range of 4 to 4.5 where water is the principal catalyst in the reaction. Buffer catalysis, primary salt effects and medium effects were observed. The proposed mechanism for acid catalyzed degradation is the rarely observed AAL1 which involves alkyl-nitrogen heterolysis. The driving force for the reaction appears to lie in the stability of the benzylic carbocation. The proposed mechanism for base catalyzed degradation is BAC2 which involves beta-lactam ring opening. The beta-lactam ring of DMP 777, a monolactam, appears to be as reactive as that in benzylpenicillin in the KOH controlled region where a similar mechanism of hydrolysis should be operative. A contributing factor to this increased reactivity may lie in the reduced basicity of the beta-lactam nitrogen making it a good leaving group. CONCLUSIONS: The degradation profile indicates that development of a solution dosage form of DMP 777 with adequate shelf-life stability at room temperature is feasible.  相似文献

We have previously reported a common variation in the liver promoter of the human glucokinase, which is regulated by insulin, in the patients with non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM). The variation occurred within a 10-bp region completely conserved between human and rat. Its basic motif was almost identical to the insulin regulatory element of the phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase gene. In vitro transfection experiment showed that the G-to-A variation causes a 58% reduction in the promoter activity. After oral glucose challenge, the homozygous A/A subjects had the highest stimulated insulin levels at 60 and 90 minutes and the highest insulin area under the curve as compared to the subjects with other genotypes, which suggested the homozygous A/A subjects were more insulin resistant. As insulin resistance is a risk factor of NIDDM, we concluded that this promoter variation is a risk factor for NIDDM.  相似文献
