The simultaneous radiation grafting of styrene onto poly(tetrafluoroethylene‐co‐hexafluoropropylene) (FEP) films was studied at room temperature. The effects of grafting conditions (type of solvent, irradiation dose, dose rate, and monomer concentration) were investigated. The degree of grafting was found to be dependent on the investigated grafting conditions. The dependence of the initial rate of grafting on the dose rate and the monomer concentration was found to be of 0.5 and 1.3 orders, respectively. The results suggest that grafting proceeds by the so‐called front mechanism in which the grafting front starts at the surface of the film and moves internally toward the middle of the film by successive diffusion of styrene through the grafted layers. Some selected properties of the grafted films were evaluated in correlation with the degree of grafting. We found that the grafted FEP films possess good mechanical stability, which encourages their use for the preparation of proton exchange membranes. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Boundary effect in digital pathology is a phenomenon where the tissue shapes of biopsy samples get distorted during the sampling process. The morphological pattern of an epithelial layer is greatly affected. Theoretically, the shape deformation model can normalise the distortions, but it needs a 2D image. Curvatures theory, on the other hand, is not yet tested on digital pathology images. Therefore, this work proposed a curvature detection to reduce the boundary effects and estimates the epithelial layer. The boundary effect on the tissue surfaces is normalised using the frequency of a curve deviates from being a straight line. The epithelial layer’s depth is estimated from the tissue edges and the connected nucleolus only. Then, the textural and spatial features along the estimated layer are used for dysplastic tissue detection. The proposed method achieved better performance compared to the whole tissue regions in terms of detecting dysplastic tissue. The result shows a leap of kappa points from fair to a substantial agreement with the expert’s ground truth classification. The improved results demonstrate that curvatures have been effective in reducing the boundary effects on the epithelial layer of tissue. Thus, quantifying and classifying the morphological patterns for dysplasia can be automated. The textural and spatial features on the detected epithelial layer can capture the changes in tissue.  相似文献

Phosphorus-containing flame retardant water-dispersed polyurethane coatings were produced by incorporating different amounts of a phosphorus compound onto the polyurethane main chain. The novel phosphorus containing compound (phosphorus phenyl dihydroxy) was synthesized in three steps using benzaldehyde, pentaerythritol, phenyl phosphonic dichloride, and acetic acid. The addition of phosphorus phenyl dihydroxy to the main chain of polyurethane, in which NCO/OH ratio was kept constant at 1.5 and the amount of dimethylolpropionic acid (DMPA) at 3.5 wt%, increased the hardness and abrasion resistance, but only slightly decreased the gloss values of the polyurethane paints. All the samples showed superior impact resistance and flexibility. Moreover, increasing the phosphorus content increased the char yield, and the maximum fire retardancy was reached at 1.5% P content with a limiting oxygen index (LOI) value of 29. The effects of SiCp treatment and magnesium addition on microstructural and mechanical properties of Al356/20 wt% SiCp semisolid composites were investigated. The results showed that cleaning and oxidizing of SiCp and addition of 1 wt% Mg resulted in improving wettability, incorporation, and uniform distribution of SiCp in A356 matrix. Consequently, the ultimate tensile strength (UTS) value increased by 19% and 32% when the SiC was treated and also when Mg was added, respectively, compared to as-received SiCp. In addition, hardness value increased from 69.7 HV in as-received SiCp to 94.8 HV after SiCp treatment and addition of Mg.  相似文献

Mobile communications and wireless networks are developing at a fast pace. The increasing number of mobile subscribers and terminals are the real life evidence of the fast growing development in the area of wireless communication. Wireless communication technology is now pursuing 4G (fourth generation) and seeking a scheme to provide quality of service (QoS) to the various applications continuously even moving to another network. In this paper, we proposed a dynamic resource management architecture which considers vertical handoff situation with minimal disruption of service to the users considering seamless provision of QoS. The proposed scheme efficiently manages resources and provides stable services to the mobile terminal. The simulation results show that resource management enabled mobile terminals utilize system resources, CPU and memory, efficiently improved by 40% and 65%, respectively, rather than mobile terminals without resource tuning.  相似文献

A significant source of noise and vibration in precision high speed machine tool spindles is bearing induced vibration, which is caused by inherent geometrical characteristics, as well as out-of-balance assembly and interactions between rolling mating members with surface irregularities. The multitude of causes often makes a diagnostic approach quite arduous, particularly due to insufficient information obtained from frequency domain analysis alone. Furthermore, the averaging nature of Fourier analysis and its poor frequency resolution make the task in complex vibration spectra more difficult. The paper presents a new approach in use of auto-correlation analysis with good frequency resolution, combined with windowing capability to isolate significant causes for subsequent remedial actions. The method is applied to a routing spindle with special reference to primary induced bearing frequencies.  相似文献

A new strategy for the characterization of Coomassie Brilliant Blue stained SDS-PAGE separated proteins by UV-MALDI-MS is reported. The proteins are extracted directly from the polyacrylamide gel by treatment with an organic solvent mixture consisting of formic acid, acetonitrile, isopropanol and water in an ultrasonic bath. A fraction of the supernatant is then mixed directly with the matrix solution and measured by MALDI-MS. High quality spectra could be obtained from gels which were loaded with 6 pmol of myoglobin. Compared to other methods based on electroblotting or electroelution this method is much simpler and less time consuming. The sensitivity is higher than or comparable to the Coomassie Blue staining procedure for proteins up to about 25 kDa. Another advantage is that mass shifts due to charging effects of the membranes, which are common if membranes are mounted directly on the sample target, can be avoided. However, all proteins studied showed slightly higher masses than expected which reduces mass accuracy to 0.2-0.3%. This is presumably partly due to formylation of serine or threonine residues during incubation in formic acid. Gel electrophoresis induced modifications can contribute as well. The possibility of further characterizing the remaining part of the supernatant after extraction by means of proteolytic digestion is also demonstrated. The knowledge of both molecular weight of the whole protein and of the proteolytic fragments increases specificity for protein identification by searching in sequence databases.  相似文献

Takayasu's arteritis is a chronic inflammatory arteriopathy. It mainly affects the aortic arch and its main branches. The aortic valve annulus and coronary and pulmonary arteries are rarely affected. Mitral and tricuspid annular calcification were not reported previously. We identified mitral annular calcification by using transthoracic echocardiography in 3 patients with Takayasu's arteritis, in whom none had any of the reported causes of mitral annular calcification. Two of them had concomitant tricuspid and aortic annular calcification.  相似文献

In view of the unique properties of poly (p-benzamide), particularly as a fibre, the synthesis of the structurally related poly (p-benzenesulphonamide) has been investigated. This first paper describes the preparation of two groups of possible precursors of the polymer starting with sulphanilic acid. The first group includes N-sulphinylaniline-4-sulphochloride, aniline-4-sulphochloride hydrochloride and aniline-4-sulphochloride. The key to the synthesis of these intermediates is the conversion of sulphanilic acid to N-sulphinylaniline-4-sulphochloride by reaction with thionyl chloride in the presence of a catalytic amount of dimethyl formamide. For the synthesis of poly (N-methyl-benzenesulphonamide), N-methylsulphanilic acid has been converted into N-methylaniline-4-sulphochloride hydrochloride by treatment with thionyl chloride. Some N-acetylated sulphanilic acid derivatives, CH3CONH-C6H4-SO2X, where X?OH, OEt, OC6H5 and Cl, and N-acetyl-1-naphthylamine-4-sulphochloride have also been prepared for evaluation as monomers in the synthesis of polysulphonamides by melt polymerisation.  相似文献

Characterizations on the pseudomorphic High Electron Mobility Transistor structure under High-Resolution X-ray Diffraction (HRXRD) have been carried out at room temperature. Variation of Al contents in AlxGa1−xAs alloys has been found to show a shift of diffraction peaks. This variation is also found to show the change of lattice constant of crystal and also sheet carrier concentration as obtained from a Hall effect measurement. The latter phenomenon is considerably interesting to study in the early stage of the electrical properties of device based on the crystal structure.  相似文献
