Hydrogen production via water electrolysis was studied under the effect of magnetic and optical field. A diode solid state laser at blue, green and red were utilized as optical field source. Magnetic bar was employed as external magnetic field. The green laser has shown a greatest effect in hydrogen production due to its non-absorbance properties in the water. Thus its intensity of electrical field is high enough to dissociation of hydronium and hydroxide ions during orientation toward polarization of water. The potential to break the autoprotolysis and generate the auto-ionization is the mechanism of optical field to reveal the hydrogen production in water electrolysis. The magnetic field effect is more dominant to enhance the hydrogen production. The diamagnetic property of water has repelled the present of magnetic in water. Consequently the water splitting occurs due to the repulsive force induced by the external magnetic field. The magnetic distributed more homogenous in the water to involve more density of water molecule. As a result hydrogen production due to magnetic field is higher in comparison to optical field. However the combination both fields have generated superior effect whereby the hydrogen yields nine times higher in comparison to conventional water electrolysis.  相似文献

Plasticized poly(lactic acid) (PLA)‐based nanocomposites filled with graphene nanoplatelets (xGnP) and containing poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and epoxidized palm oil (EPO) with ratio 2 : 1 (2P : 1E) as hybrid plasticizer were prepared by melt blending method. The key objective is to take advantage of plasticization to increase the material ductility while preserving valuable stiffness, strength, and toughness via addition of xGnP. The tensile modulus of PLA/2P : 1E/0.1 wt % xGnP was substantially improved (30%) with strength and elasticity maintained, as compared to plasticized PLA. TGA analysis revealed that the xGnP was capable of acting as barrier to reduce thermal diffusion across the plasticized PLA matrix, and thus enhanced thermal stability of the plasticized PLA. Incorporation of xGnP also enhanced antimicrobial activity of nanocomposites toward Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhimurium, Staphylococcus aureus, and Listeria monocytogenes. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This paper deals with the measurement of surface temperature on metal powder during the laser consolidation process with two-color pyrometer. Additionally, the aspect of selective laser sintering (SLS) and selective laser melting (SLM) of metal powder is visualized with high speed video camera. As a result, the surface temperature during the laser irradiation was ranged 1520–1810 °C and the consolidation phenomena was classified according to the melting point of metal powder. The metal powder at the heating process cohered intermittently to the melt pool although the laser beam was continuously irradiated to the powder surface.  相似文献

In Loviisa VVER-440 type nuclear power plant the nitrogen used to pressurize hydro-accumulators and other passive safety systems is gradually dissolved to the accumulator water during the long period of normal plant operation. If a primary circuit leakage takes place, the accumulator water is injected into the primary circuit, where lower pressure is prevailing and as a consequence the dissolved nitrogen is released from the liquid phase to gas phase. It is also possible that after the liquid has run out of the accumulator the gaseous nitrogen may flow into the primary system and may thus disturb the circulation in the primary circuit. It is important that the system codes that are used in safety analysis work are capable to simulate flows of non-condensable gases and that they can take into account the release of the dissolved gases. In this paper the non-condensable gas model of the APROS two-fluid safety analysis system code is described. The model has been validated using one experiment carried out in the PACTEL VVER-440 test facility, where the release of the nitrogen dissolved in the accumulator water has been studied. The model has been used to analyze the primary–secondary leakage (PRISE) in the Loviisa nuclear power plant. In this leakage incident the dissolved nitrogen from the accumulator was assumed to flow into the primary circuit of the plant.  相似文献

The effect of a yoghurt supplement containing Bifidobacterium pseudocatenulatum G4 or Bifidobacterium longum BB536 on plasma lipids, lipid peroxidation and the faecal excretion of bile acids was examined in rats fed a cholesterol-enriched diet. After 8 weeks, the rats in the positive control (PC) group who were fed the cholesterol-enriched diet showed significant increases in plasma total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, and malondialdehyde (MDA). However, groups fed a cholesterol-enriched diet supplemented with yoghurt containing B. pseudocatenulatum G4 or B. longum BB536 had significantly lower plasma TC, LDL-C, very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) cholesterol, and MDA than had the PC group after 8 weeks of treatment. In addition, faecal excretion of bile acids was markedly increased in the rats fed the yoghurt containing B. pseudocatenulatum G4 or B. longum BB536 as compared to the PC and NC groups.  相似文献

This paper presents a collaborative beamforming (CB) technique to organize the sensor node's location in a linear array for green wireless sensor network (WSN) applications. In this method, only selected clusters and active CB nodes are needed each time to perform CB in WSNs. The proposed least-square linear array (LSLA) manages to select nodes to perform as a linear antenna array (LAA), which is similar to and as outstanding as the conventional uniform linear array (ULA). The LSLA technique is also able to solve positioning error problems that exist in the random nodes deployment. The beampattern fluctuations have been analyzed due to the random positions of sensor nodes. Performances in terms of normalized power gains are given. It is demonstrated by a simulation that the proposed technique gives similar performances to the conventional ULA and at the same time exhibits lower complexity.  相似文献

It has recently shown how a constant dc offset between two low-quality test signals can be used to test the integral nonlinearity (INL) of A/D converters (ADCs) without an accurate test stimulus, and how the same method can be used to test the INL of D/A converters (DACs) as well. We propose here an on-chip offset generator for producing the constant offset and analyse its limitations. Experimental tests on the 122 × 22 μm2 offset generator fabricated in 130 nm CMOS process show that it can be used to test the INL of 12-b DACs and ADCs. The generator is rail-to-rail capable so that almost the whole input/output range of converters can be tested. Moreover, if the proposed offset generator is used in a ratiometric test setup as proposed here as well, the influence of a reference voltage drift on measurement accuracy is cancelled out. Because of its small size, simple design, rail-to-rail capability and immunity to reference voltage changes, the proposed offset generator is well suited for built-in self-test usage.  相似文献

In this paper, the fabrication of novel burnable absorber fuel concepts with oxide pellets, containing either a lumped Gd2O3 rod, a mini‐pellet, or a spherical particle in the centerline of the oxide pellet, is investigated to propose the lumped Gd2O3 burnable absorber fuel concept to improve nuclear fuel performance with longer fuel cycle lengths and better fuel utilization. The unique characteristic of the lumped Gd2O3 burnable absorber fuel is its high spatial self‐shielding factor that reduces its burnout rate and, therefore, improves the reactivity control. Oxide pellets containing lumped Gd2O3 were fabricated by using a combination of cold isostatic pressing and microwave sintering at 1500°C to understand the potential technical issues in the fabrication of duplex burnable absorber fuel. The effect of the sintering temperature on the densification and phase transformation of 8 wt.% yttria‐stabilized zirconia, a surrogate for UO2, was investigated. Spherical Gd2O3 particles were fabricated by the drip casting of a Gd2O3‐based Na alginate solution. The fabrication of duplex oxide pellets by using presintered Gd2O3 mini‐pellets resulted in internal cracks at the interface between the Gd2O3 and 8 wt.% yttria‐stabilized zirconia layers because of the mismatch of their densification. However, the formation of interfacial cracks was eliminated by controlling the initial sintered density of the lumped Gd2O3.  相似文献

Impedance analyses was performed on undoped and Nb-doped CaCu3Ti4O12 (CaCu3Ti4−xNbxO12+x/2; x = 0, 0.01, 0.03, 0.05, 0.1) to investigate their electrical properties. The pellet samples were prepared using the solid state reaction method. Silver electrode was deposited on both pellets’ surfaces for electrical measurement. The thermally etched samples showed tiny bumped domains within the grains. The existence of both domain and grain boundaries are believed to strongly influence the dielectric constant of CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCTO). Undoped CCTO showed two arcs of impedance complex plane while Nb-doped samples have three arcs. Each arc represents the constituent elements of the CCTO. The highest frequency arc is evidence that CCTO consists of conductive domains which measure about 1 Ω and are insulated by two types of barriers, i.e. domain boundary and grain boundary.  相似文献

Articulated offshore towers are highly flexible against rotation at the hinges and derive their stability by means of inherently large buoyancy forces. The displacement response of such towers is mainly governed by the rigid body mode of vibration which has a very low frequency. Since the fluctuating wind velocity spectrum has high energy content in the low frequency region, therefore, wind induces significant dynamic response of such towers. In this paper, the responses of single and double hinged articulated towers are compared under various ocean environments. A Monte Carlo simulation technique is used to model the random sea environment. The sea state is characterized by Pierson–Moskowitz spectrum while the fluctuating wind has been estimated using Simiu's spectrum for compliant platforms. Iterative time domain solution procedure is adopted to take care of time dependent parameters and nonlinearities. Stochastic response is characterized by statistical quantities and power spectral density functions (PSDF) for various parametric combinations. Studies of wind effects are found to be imperative for double hinged articulated towers to serve and survive in the hostile offshore environment. The response PSDF highlights the wind induced dynamic responses of the towers.  相似文献
