The general-purpose, highly parallel, cellular array processor (CAP) we developed features multiple-instruction stream, multiple-data stream (MIMD) processing and image display. Processor elements can number in several hundreds. The present system uses 256 processors. Each processor element consists of a general-purpose microprocessor, memory, and a special VLSI chip that performs parallel-processing-specific functions such as processor communication and synchronization. The VLSI has two 2M byte/s independent common bus interfaces for data broadcating and six 15M bit/s serial communication ports for local data communication. The chip also can process image data in real time for multiple processors. Use of the communication interfaces enables a variety of processor networks to be configured. One CAP application has been computer graphics, in which ray tracing is used to generate quality images. 相似文献

This paper describes a stochastic finite element method using the first-order approximation at a failure point of a set of random variables. The method is extended to equivalent normal represtation of non-normal distributions and offers two advantages: (1) It gives a consistent measure of failure probability for the limit-states defined in terms of different but equivalent performance function formulations, (2). It can be applied to reliability analysis for non-normal variants. Results using this method are compared favorably with that of Monte Carlo simulation in a simple example. We are developing novel ultra light-weight and high-resolution X-ray micro pore optics for space X-ray telescopes. In our method, curvilinear micro pore structures are firstly fabricated by silicon deep reactive ion etching (DRIE) or X-ray LIGA processes. Secondly, side walls of the micro structures are smoothed by magnetic field assisted finishing and/or hydrogen annealing techniques for high reflectivity mirrors. Thirdly, to focus parallel X-ray lights from astronomical objects, these structures are elastically or plastically bent into a spherical shape. Fourthly, the bent structures are stacked to form a multi-stage X-ray telescope. In this paper, we report on fabrication and X-ray reflection tests of silicon and nickel X-ray mirrors using the DRIE and LIGA processes, respectively. For the first time, X-ray reflections were confirmed on both of the mirrors. Estimated rms roughnesses were 5 nm and 3 nm for the silicon and nickel mirrors, respectively. 相似文献

The inhibitory effect of alpha-tocopherol on methemoglobin formation in normal and acatalasemic mice was studied by exposing their hemolysates to nitric oxide. Methemoglobin formation in normal and acatalasemic mouse hemolysates exposed to nitric oxide were significantly inhibited by the addition of alpha-tocopherol at final concentrations ranging from 1.2 to 5.8 mM. Negative correlations were observed between the logarithm of alpha-tocopherol concentration and the methemoglobin formation. The formation of methemoglobin in acatalasemic mouse hemolysates was greater than that in normal mouse hemolysates with or without added alpha-tocopherol. The methemoglobin formation in acatalasemic mice was also significantly inhibited by addition of more than 500 units/ml of catalase, and the methemoglobin formation in normal and acatalasemic mice was also inhibited with sodium diethyldithiocarbamate at a final concentration of 1 M. 相似文献

In the development of novel biomarkers, the proteomic approach is advantageous because using it the cancer-associated proteins can be directly identified. We previously developed a 2-nitrobenzenesulfenyl (NBS) method to improve quantitative proteome analysis. Here, we applied this method to proteomic profiling of colorectal carcinoma (CRC) to identify novel proteins with altered expression in CRC. Each pair of tumor and normal tissue specimens from 12 CRC patients was analyzed, and approximately 5000 NBS-labeled paired peaks were quantified. Peaks with altered signal intensities (>1.5-fold) and occurring frequently in the samples (>70%) were selected, and 128 proteins were identified by MS/MS analyses as differentially expressed proteins in CRC tissues. Many proteins were newly revealed to be CRC related; 30 were reported in earlier studies of CRC. Six proteins that were up-regulated in CRC (ZYX, RAN, RCN1, AHCY, LGALS1, and VIM) were further characterized and validated by Western blot and immunohistochemistry. All six were found to be CRC-localized, either in cancer cells or in stroma cells near the cancer cells. These results indicate that the proteins identified in this study are novel candidates for CRC markers, and that the NBS method is useful in proteome mining to discover novel biomarkers. 相似文献

Because of the improved performance of power devices, the volume of the ac filter inductors used in high‐frequency PWM inverters has been reduced. However, the temperature rise in the filter inductor due to this miniaturization has become more pronounced. Therefore, we have proposed an iron loss calculation method for the ac filter inductor. However, the accuracy of the value calculated via the loss map method cannot be verified, because the iron loss arising during each switching period cannot be measured with conventional power measuring instruments. In order to resolve this problem, we developed an inductor loss analyzer (ILA), which allows precise measurement of the iron loss in the inductor during each switching period. The accuracy of the calculation of iron loss in the filter inductor by the loss map method was verified with the ILA. We found that the value calculated by the loss map method differed slightly from the value measured with the ILA. However, these differences can be reduced if we take into account the accurate flux density calculation and the effect of the duty ratio of PWM pulses on the loss. Finally, we verified that the loss map method can provide accurate iron loss calculations. 相似文献

In order to establish a rapid and sensitive method for the detection of Verotoxigenic Escherichia coli O157 and O26, a collaborative study was conducted focusing on a comparison of the efficiency of loop-mediated amplification (LAMP) assay targeting the Verocytotoxin (also called Shiga toxin) gene, utilizing a direct plating method and a plating method with immunomagnetic separation (IMS-plating method) using various agar media. In combination with enrichment with the modified EC supplemented with novobiocin, E. coli O157 was detected in most samples of ground beef and alfalfa sprouts by LAMP assay, the direct plating method and the IMS-plating method. E. coli O26 was detected in approximately 100% of the food samples by LAMP assay. However, the IMS-plating and direct plating methods recovered 80 and 50% in ground beef samples, respectively. As a result, it was demonstrated the LAMP assay is superior to the IMS-plating method. Based on these results, it appears LAMP assay is effective as a screening assay to detect E. coli O157 and O26 from positive samples. 相似文献

Vitamin D3 hydroxylase (Vdh) from Pseudonocardia autotrophica is a cytochrome P450 monooxygenase that catalyzes the two‐step hydroxylation of vitamin D3 (VD3) to produce 25‐hydroxyvitamin D3 (25(OH)VD3) and 1α,25‐dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1α,25(OH)2VD3). These hydroxylated forms of VD3 are useful as pharmaceuticals for the treatment of conditions associated with VD3 deficiency and VD3 metabolic disorder. Herein, we describe the creation of a highly active T107A mutant of Vdh by engineering the putative ferredoxin‐binding site. Crystallographic and kinetic analyses indicate that the T107A mutation results in conformational change from an open to a closed state, thereby increasing the binding affinity with ferredoxin. We also report the efficient biocatalytic synthesis of 25(OH)VD3, a promising intermediate for the synthesis of various hydroxylated VD3 derivatives, by using nisin‐treated Rhodococcus erythropolis cells containing VdhT107A. The gene‐expression cassette encoding Bacillus megaterium glucose dehydrogenase‐IV was inserted into the R. erythropolis chromosome and expressed to avoid exhaustion of NADH in a cytoplasm during bioconversion. As a result, approximately 573 μg mL?1 25(OH)VD3 was successfully produced by a 2 h bioconversion. 相似文献
