The high viscosity of fish oil leads to problem in pumping and spray characteristics. The inefficient mixing of fish oil with air leads to incomplete combustion. The best way to use fish oil as fuel in compression ignition (CI) engines is to convert it into biodiesel. It can be used in CI engines with very little or no engine modifications. This is because it has properties similar to mineral diesel. Combustion tests for methyl ester of fish oil and its blends with diesel fuel were performed in a kirloskar H394 DI diesel engine, to evaluate fish biodiesel as an alternative fuel for diesel engine, at constant speed of 1500 rpm under variable load conditions. The tests showed no major deviations in diesel engine's combustion as well as no significant changes in the engine performance and reduction of main noxious emissions with the exception on NOx. Overall fish biodiesel showed good combustion properties and environmental benefits. 相似文献

In this paper, the effect of rotation on the onset of thermal convection in a horizontal layer of nanofluid saturated by a Darcy–Brinkman porous medium is considered. A linear stability analysis based upon normal mode is used to find solution of the fluid layer confined between two free boundaries. The onset criterion for stationary and oscillatory convection is derived analytically and graphically. The effects of the concentration Rayleigh number, Taylor number, Lewis number, Darcy number and modified diffusivity ratio on the stability of the system are investigated. The efficiency of various techniques pulsed electric field (PEF), ultrasound (US), high‐pressure microfluidisation (HPMF), hydrochloric acid (HCl) and ionic liquids (ILs) for cell wall disruption in astaxanthin extraction from Haematococcus pluvialis was compared. The results indicated that ILs, HCl and HPMF treatment were shown the most efficient for cell disruption with more than 80% astaxanthin recovery. While the cell wall integrity of H. pluvialis cyst cell was less affected by US and PEF treatment. It was found that imidazolium‐based ILs showed the greater potential for cell disruption than pyridinium‐based and ammonium‐based ILs. Among all the ILs examined, 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium chloride ([Bmim] Cl) exhibited efficient cell disruption and capability of astaxanthin recovery at mild condition (pretreatment with 40% IL aqueous solution at 40 °C, followed by extraction with methanol at 50 °C) without extensive energy consumption and special facility requirement. Aquafaba, the viscous liquid resulting from cooking chickpeas in water is typically discarded. However, this solution is now widely used by the vegan community as an egg replacement that adds texture to food products, such as mayonnaise, pudding, ice cream and baked goods. Sponge cake was prepared with either egg white or aquafaba derived from ten different brands of canned chickpea and the texture and colour were compared. Aquafaba obtained from each chickpea can produced foam which differed in both properties and stability. In addition, aquafaba from some brands provided comparable foam volume and stability to that achieved with egg white. The colour and texture of sponge cake made with either egg white or aquafaba were similar and acceptable, but cakes prepared with aquafaba were less springy, and less cohesive than cake that included egg white. Based on our results, it appears that aquafaba has potential to replace egg white in eggless cake recipes. 相似文献

This paper is a case study of visiting an external audit company to explore the usefulness of machine learning algorithms for improving the quality of an audit work. Annual data of 777 firms from 14 different sectors are collected. The Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is used as a feature selection method. Ten different state-of-the-art classification models are compared in terms of their accuracy, error rate, sensitivity, specificity, F measures, Mathew’s Correlation Coefficient (MCC), Type-I error, Type-II error, and Area Under the Curve (AUC) using Multi-Criteria Decision-Making methods like Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) and Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). The results of Bayes Net and J48 demonstrate an accuracy of 93% for suspicious firm classification. With the appearance of tremendous growth of financial fraud cases, machine learning will play a big part in improving the quality of an audit field work in the future. 相似文献

Finding an inexpensive and effective clean energy electrocatalyst is highly important for the new generation of photovoltaic devices. Herein, we report a facile and universal in situ co-precipitation strategy to load three novel tantalum-based compounds (NiTa2O6, MnTa2O6, and AlTaO4) on honeycomb-like bio-based carbon (HBC) frameworks. The HBC framework with unique honeycomb-like network structure serves as a support material in nanohybrids that can provide rich surface active sites and rapid electron transport channels for triiodide reduction reaction. The adoption of widely available and abundant biomass-derived carbon into tantalum-based compounds markedly boosts electrocatalytic properties of nanohybrids and exhibits robust corrosion resistance because nanohybrids adequately utilize the synergistic effects of different components. The photovoltaic devices fabricated with NiTa2O6/HBC, MnTa2O6/HBC, and AlTaO4/HBC counter electrode catalysts demonstrate the brilliant power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 7.09%, 7.39%, and 7.86%, respectively, outperforming the Pt-based cells (6.80%). This work offers a strategy for the further rational design of efficient, inexpensive, and durable electrocatalysts for advanced energy technology applications. 相似文献
