This paper describes the results of a long-term reliability test of a newly developed 500 kV DC oil-filled cable and accessories that transmit up to 2800 MW. This is the largest capacity ever used for submarine cables. The test line was 500 m and consist of submarine cables, land cables and several kinds of accessories. An optical fiber sensor was first installed in the oil duct of the cable to measure the conductor temperature directly under application of DC voltage. From 1994 to 1996, the authors carried out an accelerated electrical and thermal aging test equivalent to 40 years, a load cycle test, a polarity reversal test and a transient overloading current test. Satisfactory breakdown strength was confirmed in the residual test which followed the long-term test. In this study, NH4CoPO4·H2O (ACP) platelets were synthesized from NH4H2PO4 and Co(OH)2 by wet milling process using a bead mill. ACP is one of the precursors of LiCoPO4 (LCP) cathode materials for Li-ion batteries. In the wet milling, ACP large platelets were synthesized in a short time at the beginning, and the large platelets were gradually cleaved into the smaller platelets. The lateral sizes of the ACP platelets were several 10 μm at 30 min and about 10 μm at 5 h. It was found that the ACP platelets were synthesized efficiently by using the bead mill as a promising machine for the scale-up in manufacturing. The ACP platelets were converted into LCP by mixing with Li2CO3 and heating, whereas platelet shapes were retained. The initial discharge capacities of the cathodes using the LCP platelets converted from the ACP of 30 min and 5 h milling were 70 and 95 mAh/g at 0.05 C, respectively. It is because the specific surface area of the latter sample (3.3 m2/g) was larger than that of the former (2.2 m2/g). The larger specific surface area possibly led to the increase of contacts with electron conductive additives (carbon) and electrolytes.  相似文献

Chromosome damage combined with defective recombinase activity renders cells inviable, owing to deficient double-strand break repair. Despite this, recA polA cells grow well under either DNA damage response (SOS) conditions or catalase medium supplementation. Catalase treatments reduce intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels, suggesting that recA polA cells are susceptible to not only chronic chromosome damage but also ROS. In this study, we used a reducing agent, vitamin C, to confirm whether cell growth could be improved. Vitamin C reduced ROS levels and rescued colony formation in recAts polA cells under restrictive temperatures in the presence of hslO, the gene encoding a redox molecular chaperone. Subsequently, we investigated the role of hslO in the cell growth failure of recAts polA cells. The effects of vitamin C were observed in hslO+ cells; simultaneously, cells converged along several ploidies likely through a completion of replication, with the addition of vitamin C at restrictive temperatures. These results suggest that HslO could manage oxidative stress to an acceptable level, allowing for cell division as well as rescuing cell growth. Overall, ROS may regulate several processes, from damage response to cell division. Our results provide a basis for understanding the unsolved regulatory interplay of cellular processes.  相似文献

A light-driven radical oxy-functionalization of non-acidic aliphatic and benzylic C(sp3)−H bonds was achieved with 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (TEMPO) in a single-step by employing an aryl ketone as a sole catalyst. The transformation was initiated by homolysis of a C(sp3)−H bond in the starting substance by the photo-excited aryl ketone. The derived carbon radical was then promptly trapped by TEMPO leading to the formation of the TEMPO-adduct. The derived TEMPO-adduct is synthetically versatile as an alcohol equivalent since it can be readily converted to the corresponding ketone by oxidation and to the corresponding alcohol by reduction. The key to realizing the present catalytic reaction relies on the distinctive triple role of TEMPO, which acts as the precursor of the oxygen functionality, the oxidant to regenerate the aryl ketone, and the protective group for the derived TEMPO-adduct from over-oxidation.  相似文献

The number of home electric appliances, such as personal computers and telephones, has been rapidly increasing. Lightning damage to these home electric appliances has a great impact on a highly sophisticated information society. There are cases in which lightning overvoltages in low‐voltage distribution lines cause malfunctions in them, even though they are equipped with surge protective devices to protect against lightning overvoltages. Therefore, for lightning protection of low‐voltage equipment including home electric appliances, it is important to understand the phenomenon of lightning overvoltages in low‐voltage power distribution lines. However, many aspects of this problem are not entirely clear, in particular how they are generated. The Tokyo Electric Power Company carried out lightning observations on low‐voltage distribution lines. The observation results provide a statistical distribution of lightning overvoltages in low‐voltage distribution lines. A mechanism for generating lightning overvoltages in low‐voltage distribution lines is inferred from the observed waveforms and facilities data. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The temperature dependence of the resistivity over the range 1.8–20 K has been measured on the narrow-gap semiconductor SnTe with various Mn contents (<2.2at.%) and carrier concentrations [p = (1.2–8) × 1020 cm–3]. The resistivity shows an anomaly at some magnetic ordering temperature T m, which depends sublinearly on the Mn content c, but not linearly. However, together with a negative magnetoresistance, we have confirmed that the carrier scattering in this crystal is due to the s-d interaction as in dilute magnetic alloys.  相似文献
