In studies of pitting corrosion, there is often a need for monitoring the size of growing pits in situ as well as the need for a rapid assessment of the extent of pitting damage ex situ on a large number of test specimens. The well-known method of determining surface roughness by diffuse light scattering has been adapted to satisfy both needs. In situ measurements with aluminium alloys immersed in NaCl solutions indicate that early stages of pit propagation can be monitored accurately. Furthermore, measurements on pre-pitted aluminium show that the technique is suitable for rapid, quantitative determinations of a pitted area up to a fraction of 40%.  相似文献

A simple, rapid, and validated method for separation and determination of promethazine enantiomers was developed. Promethazine was separated and quantitated on a Vancomycin Chirobiotic V column (250 x 4.6 mm), using a mixture of methanol, acetic acid, and triethylamine (100:0.1:0.1%, by volume) as a mobile phase at 20 degrees C and at a flow rate of 1 mL/min. The UV-detector was set to 254 nm. Acetyl salicylic acid (Aspirin) was used as an internal standard. The applied HPLC method allowed separation and quantification of promethazine enantiomers with good linearity (r > .999) in the studied range. The relative standard deviations (RSD) were 0.29 and 0.36 for the promethazine enantiomers with accuracy of 100.06 and 100.08. The limit of detection and limit of quantification of promethazine enantiomers were found to be 0.04 and 0.07 microg/mL, respectively. The method was validated through the parameters of linearity, accuracy, precision, and robustness. The HPLC method was applied for the quantitative determination of promethazine in pharmaceutical formulations.  相似文献

The present study investigated the relationships between the operator's appraisal of his own work situation and the quality of his own work performance as well as self-reported errors in a nuclear power plant control room. In all, 98 control room operators from two nuclear power units filled out a questionnaire and several diaries during two operational conditions, annual outage and normal operation. As expected, the operators reported higher work demands in annual outage as compared to normal operation. In response to the increased demands, the operators reported that they used coping strategies such as increased effort, decreased aspiration level for work performance quality and increased use of delegation of tasks to others. This way of coping does not reflect less positive motivation for the work during the outage period. Instead, the operators maintain the same positive motivation for their work, and suceed in being more alert during morning and night shifts. However, the operators feel less satisfied with their work result. The operators also perceive the risk of making minor errors as increasing during outage. The decreased level of satisfaction with work result during outage is a fact despite the lowering of aspiration level for work performance quality during outage. In order to decrease relative frequencies for minor errors, special attention should be given to reduce work demands, such as time pressure and memory demands. In order to decrease misinterpretation errors special attention should be given to organizational factors such as planning and shift turnovers in addition to training. In summary, the outage period seems to be a significantly more vulnerable window in the management of a nuclear power plant than the normal power production state. Thus, an increased focus on the outage period and human factors issues, adressing the synergetic effects or work demands, organizational factors and coping resources is an important area for improvement of safety in the nuclear power industry.  相似文献

In this study, the behavior of a parametric 3D re-entrant dodecahedron lattice structure with negative Poisson’s ratio was studied. Four geometrical configurations for the re-entrant dodecahedron were designed, and the relationship between the mechanical properties and the design parameters was determined through beam theory. Samples were fabricated successfully via electron beam melting. Compressive tests as well as finite element analysis (FEA) were performed, and the results were compared with theoretical predictions. The modeling yielded explicit analytical equations of various mechanical properties including Poisson’s ratios, modulus and strength, and the compressive strength and the modulus from the prediction match well with the experiments, as well as the FEA results. The methodology used by this study also demonstrated a feasible approach to design 3D auxetic cellular structure for various applications.  相似文献

This study examined whether the cognitive profile of subjects with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) with vascular disease differs from that of MCI subjects with no vascular disease. Consecutive MCI subjects with vascular disease (n=60) and matched MCI subjects with no vascular disease (n=60) were included in the study and were compared with healthy control subjects (n=60). The neuropsychological assessment comprised tests of speed and attention, episodic memory, visuospatial function, language, and executive function. Control subjects performed significantly better than did both MCI groups on the neuropsychological battery. MCI subjects with no vascular disease performed better overall than did MCI subjects with vascular disease, most clearly on tests of speed and attention, visuospatial function, and executive function. MCI subjects with and without vascular disease exhibited differences, both in terms of overall performance and of cognitive profiles. These differences can be largely explained by deficits in speed and attention and in executive function of the MCI subjects with vascular disease. This paper presents the development, testing and validation of SWEEPER, a robot for harvesting sweet pepper fruit in greenhouses. The robotic system includes a six degrees of freedom industrial arm equipped with a specially designed end effector, RGB‐D camera, high‐end computer with graphics processing unit, programmable logic controllers, other electronic equipment, and a small container to store harvested fruit. All is mounted on a cart that autonomously drives on pipe rails and concrete floor in the end‐user environment. The overall operation of the harvesting robot is described along with details of the algorithms for fruit detection and localization, grasp pose estimation, and motion control. The main contributions of this paper are the integrated system design and its validation and extensive field testing in a commercial greenhouse for different varieties and growing conditions. A total of 262 fruits were involved in a 4‐week long testing period. The average cycle time to harvest a fruit was 24 s. Logistics took approximately 50% of this time (7.8 s for discharge of fruit and 4.7 s for platform movements). Laboratory experiments have proven that the cycle time can be reduced to 15 s by running the robot manipulator at a higher speed. The harvest success rates were 61% for the best fit crop conditions and 18% in current crop conditions. This reveals the importance of finding the best fit crop conditions and crop varieties for successful robotic harvesting. The SWEEPER robot is the first sweet pepper harvesting robot to demonstrate this kind of performance in a commercial greenhouse.  相似文献

Dynamic fracture experiments on crack initiation and crack growth in single edge bend specimens are performed. The impact velocity is in the range of 14 to 50 m/s and the specimen size is 320×75 mm with a thickness varying from 18 to 40 mm. The experiments are recorded by high speed photography.Two different steel qualities are investigated and their constitutive characterisation are obtained from uni-axial tension tests and shear tests with strain rates in the range 10−4 to 103 s−1 and tension tests at temperatures between −196 and 600°C.One of the materials exhibits a transition from a ductile dimple fracture to a brittle cleavage fracture as the loading velocity increases and as the specimen thickness increases. Scanning electron microscope fractographs show that the density of plastic bridges within cleavage ligaments decreases with increasing impact velocity and with increasing specimen thickness. It is also noted that the local crack propagation direction deflects from the global one in cleavage fracture areas with a high density of plastic bridges.The other material fails in a ductile mode in all the investigated cases.  相似文献
