Rhodium(I) complexes of the type, cis-[Rh(CO)2(amine)2](PF6) where (amine = 3-picoline, 2-picoline, pyridine, 2,6-lutidina or 3,5-lutidine) dissolved in 80% aqueous amine solutions catalyzed the selective reduction of 4-nitrobenzoic acid to 4-aminobenzoic acid under CO atmosphere. The importance of these catalytic systems is their high chemo selectivity for the aromatic nitro group of the 4-nitrobenzoic acid with respect to the carboxylic group, allowing the production of the desired aromatic amine in high yields. The 4-aminobenzoic acid production depends on the nature of the coordinated amine. The Rh/3,5-lutidine system, the most active catalyst among tested, displays turnover frequencies for 4-aminobenzoic acid production of about 173 moles per mole Rh per day for [Rh] = 1 × 10?4 mol, [4-nitrobenzoic acid] = 3.82 × 10?3mol, 10 mL of 80% aqueous 3,5-lutidine, P(CO) = 0.9 atm at 100 °C. Analyses of kinetic results for the Rh/3,5-lutidine system show a first order dependence on 4-nitrobenzoic acid concentration, a non-linear dependence on CO pressure, a segmented Arrhenius plot and dependence on the nature of the reducing gas agent. These data are discussed in terms of a possible mechanism.  相似文献

A general SIMNET simulation model is developed for estimating system reliability. The input data to the model is comprised of the minimal cut sets of the block diagram representing the system. Comments on the article by B. Gawronski and G. V. Bodenhausen (see record 2006-10465-003). A metacognitive model (MCM) is presented to describe how automatic (implicit) and deliberative (explicit) measures of attitudes respond to change attempts. The model assumes that contemporary implicit measures tap quick evaluative associations, whereas explicit measures also consider the perceived validity of these associations (and other factors). Change in explicit measures is greater than implicit measures when new evaluative associations are formed and old associations are rejected. Implicit measure change is greater than explicit when newly formed evaluative associations are rejected. When implicit and explicit evaluations conflict, implicit ambivalence can occur. The authors relate the MCM to the associative-propositional evaluation model and explain how the MCM builds on the attitude strength assumptions of the elaboration likelihood model of persuasion. No Heading We investigate the possibility that the BEC-like phenomena recently detected on two-dimensional finite trapped systems consist of fragmented condensates. We derive and diagonalize the one-body density matrix of a two-dimensional isotropically trapped Bose gas at finite temperature. For the ideal gas, the procedure reproduces the exact harmonic-oscillator eigenfunctions and the Bose distribution. We use a new collocation-minimization method to study the interacting gas in the Hartree-Fock approximation and obtain a ground-state wavefunction and condensate fraction consistent with those obtained by other methods. The starting point of this research is the urban model promoted by the United Nations through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The importance of public spaces is especially highlighted in Goal 11.7: “provide universal access to safe, inclusive, and accessible, green, and public spaces.” The quality of public spaces can be properly assessed by reconsidering the quality indicators and investigating their development potential, which is the main focus of our research. This study is based on a theoretical and methodological reflection on the quality of public space, considering the contributions of some contemporary urban traditions and a few recent experiences. From this perspective, a variety of public space projects developed in the European sphere have been selected and analyzed. The quality parameters identified in this initial analysis were then applied to the analysis of nine representative case studies in three Spanish cities (Madrid, Barcelona, and Zaragoza). The main goal is to propose a methodology that helps to evaluate the quality of those public spaces and determine its relationship with the safety, accessibility, and inclusiveness conditions they offer.  相似文献

We studied moist pine needle beds burning under the effect of wind, in order to determine the upper moisture limit for which there is fire propagation for different wind velocities. For this purpose we built a wind tunnel that allowed us to burn a 600 mm by 150 mm by 40 mm bed under wind velocities between 0.5 m/s and 5.0 m/s and controlled air temperature. Results show an increase in moisture limit from 54% to approximately 140%, for the velocity range indicated. Combustion at limiting conditions proceeds mainly by smoldering with some periods of flaming combustion. It was observed that, for conditions close to extinction, the smoldering front is not quenched at the surface. Additionally, it was also observed that a strong flow of hot gases exit from the fuel bed at the free surface. These two observations lead to the conclusion that the main heat sink is moisture evaporation and that heat losses to the surroundings is reduced by the blowing effect of the hot gases coming off the bed. A dimensional analysis suggests a correlation between moisture limit and wind velocity of the form M = A ? B/ \( {v} \) w 2 , where M is moisture limit for fire propagation, A and B are constants, and \( {v} \) w is wind speed. Two dimensionless numbers helped to plot the smoldering temperature and fire propagation velocity in a more meaningful way. They are \( \Uppi_{1} = {{T_{sml} c_{p,g} } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{T_{sml} c_{p,g} } {v_{w}^{2} }}} \right. \kern-0pt} {v_{w}^{2} }} \) and \( \Uppi_{2} = {{Mh_{fg} } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{Mh_{fg} } {v_{w}^{2} }}} \right. \kern-0pt} {v_{w}^{2} }} \) , where T sml is smoldering temperature, c p,g is the gas specific heat, M is fuel moisture content and h fg is the latent heat of water evaporation. A relatively high moisture limit at 5 m/s wind velocity is possible due to the relatively high air flow into the smoldering front and the efficient heat feedback produced in forward smoldering.  相似文献

Natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis foster the creation of effective evacuation strategies to prevent the loss of human lives. This article proposes a simulation model to find out optimum evacuation routes, during a tsunami using Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithms. ACO is a discrete optimization algorithm inspired by the ability of ants to establish the shortest path from their nest to a food source, and vice versa, using pheromones. The validation of the model was carried out through two drills, which were conducted in the coastal town of Penco, Chile. This town was strongly affected by an 8.8 Mw earthquake and tsunami over February 2010. The first drill was held with minimum information, leaving the population to act randomly and intuitively. The second drill was carried out with information provided by the model, inducing people to use the optimized routes generated by the ACO algorithm. The results showed that, in case of an emergency, conventional evacuation routes showed longer escape times compared to those produced by the model developed in this research.  相似文献

The challenge of stricter wastewater standards is resulting in configuration changes to wastewater treatment. As facilities upgrade, the type of sludge produced is changing, with growing quantities of secondary and chemical sludge at the expense of primary sludge. It is already understood that secondary sludge is harder to treat than its primary equivalent; therefore, increasing the quantity of this type of sludge will have detrimental impacts downstream. As legislation tightens further, extended aeration times may be required during processing to remove more nutrients. Work has shown that extended aeration further exacerbates the treatability of secondary sludge. This paper explains how tightening wastewater legislation fundamentally alters the nature of the sludge produced, and how these alterations impact further processing, especially with respect to sludge production and type; sludge energy content; performance of anaerobic digestion and dewatering, and potential for thermal energy recovery.  相似文献

Interdisciplinarity is as trendy as it is difficult to define. Instead of trying to capture a multidimensional object with a single indicator, we propose six indicators, combining three different operationalizations of a discipline, two levels (article or laboratory) of integration of these disciplines and two measures of interdisciplinary diversity. This leads to a more meaningful characterization of the interdisciplinarity of laboratories’ publication practices. Thanks to a statistical analysis of these indicators on 600 CNRS laboratories, we suggest that, besides an average value of interdisciplinarity, different laboratories can be mainly distinguished by the “distance” between the disciplines in which they publish and by the scale at which interdisciplinary integration is achieved (article or laboratory).  相似文献
