The present work proposes a new systematic procedure for the geometric analysis of plastic parts that will be transformed by injection process. The procedure is based on visualization techniques such as slicing by parallel planes, Scan Line Segment and Z-buffer methods. By these procedures, the fitness of the part geometric design for manufacturing process is evaluated. Part demoldability and parting line are defined, with an outstanding improvement of the traditional methods used for mold design purposes. Therefore, this approach focuses on Design for Manufacturing research area.  相似文献

The action of bile on bifidobacteria was studied by measuring changes in zeta potential. hydrophobicity and adherence to enterocyte-like cells in vitro. Highly hydrophobic strains shocked with bile displayed more negative zeta potential values and a decrease in adherence. When a non-hydrophobic non-adherent strain (CIDCA 5324) was shocked with bile, an increase in hydrophobicity was observed. However, no changes of zeta potential or adherence properties were apparent. The action of the bile components was different from the action of whole bile. Cholate and deoxycholate produced a decrease in the negativity of zeta potential values of all strains studied whereas taurocholate displayed a shift in zeta potential of hydrophobic strains to more negative values, thus explaining the decrease in the autoaggregation by charge repulsion. However, the decrease in zeta potential caused by cholate and deoxycholate did not increase autoaggregation in a hydrophobic non-adherent strain (CIDCA 531). This suggests that other forces are contributing to autoaggregation.  相似文献

The influence of random vibrations on the performance of a dynamic phase-shifting speckle pattern interferometer is investigated by means of experiments and numerical simulations. Two aspects are evaluated: first, temporal unwrapping reliability, second, vibration-induced phase noise. The former is found to be a significant constraint, even for peak velocities well below the Nyquist velocity limit of the interferometer. Shorter sampling windows and higher framing rates are shown to increase the unwrapping success rate, but longer windows reduce the phase error. Three analytical criteria for determining the expected unwrapping success rate are proposed and compared.  相似文献

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are competitive inhibitors of cyclooxygenase (COX), the enzyme that mediates biosynthesis of prostaglandins and thromboxanes from arachidonic acid. There are at least two different isoforms of the enzyme known as COX-1 and -2. Site directed mutagenesis studies suggest that non-selective COX inhibitors of diverse chemical families exhibit differential binding modes to the two isozymes. These results cannot clearly be explained from the sole analysis of the crystal structures of COX available from X-ray diffraction studies. With the aim to elucidate the structural features governing the differential inhibitory binding behavior of these inhibitors, molecular modeling studies were undertaken to generate atomic models compatible with the experimental data available. Accordingly, docking of different COX inhibitors, including selective and non-selective ligands: rofecoxib, ketoprofen, suprofen, carprofen, zomepirac, indomethacin, diclofenac and meclofenamic acid were undertaken using the AMBER program. The results of the present study provide new insights into a better understanding of the differential binding mode of diverse families of COX inhibitors, and are expected to contribute to the design of new selective compounds.  相似文献

We prove that suspended robust heterodimensional cycles and suspended robust homoclinic tangencies can be found arbitrarily close to any non-degenerate bifocal homoclinic orbit of a Hamiltonian vector field. In order to achieve this result, we show that any diffeomorphism with a saddle-node periodic point, which has both quasi-transversal and tangential strong homoclinic intersections, can be approximated by diffeomorphisms with both, robust homoclinic tangencies and a robust heterodimensional cycles. As explained in the paper, Hamiltonian vector fields with non-degenerate bifocal homoclinic orbits are exhibited in the limit family of any generic unfolding of a four-dimensional nilpotent singularity of codimension four. Supported by the achieved results, we conjecture that suspended robust cycles can be generically unfolded from such singularities.  相似文献

Exosome‐like vesicles (ELVs) are a novel class of biomarkers that are receiving a lot of attention for the detection of cancer at an early stage. In this study the feasibility of using a surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) based method to distinguish between ELVs derived from different cellular origins is evaluated. A gold nanoparticle based shell is deposited on the surface of ELVs derived from cancerous and healthy cells, which enhances the Raman signal while maintaining a colloidal suspension of individual vesicles. This nanocoating allows the recording of SERS spectra from single vesicles. By using partial least squares discriminant analysis on the obtained spectra, vesicles from different origin can be distinguished, even when present in the same mixture. This proof‐of‐concept study paves the way for noninvasive (cancer) diagnostic tools based on exosomal SERS fingerprinting in combination with multivariate statistical analysis.  相似文献

While electroporation has been widely used as a physical method for gene transfection in vitro and in vivo, its application in gene therapy of cardiovascular cells remains challenging. Due to the high concentration of ion‐transport proteins in the sarcolemma, conventional electroporation of primary cardiomyocytes tends to cause ion‐channel activation and abnormal ion flux, resulting in low transfection efficiency and high mortality. In this work, a high‐throughput nanoelectroporation technique based on a nanochannel array platform is reported, which enables massively parallel delivery of genetic cargo (microRNA, plasmids) into mouse primary cardiomyocytes in a controllable, highly efficient, and benign manner. A simple “dipping‐trap” approach was implemented to precisely position a large number of cells on the nanoelectroporation platform. With dosage control, our device precisely titrates the level of miR‐29, a potential therapeutic agent for cardiac fibrosis, and determines the minimum concentration of miR‐29 causing side effects in mouse primary cardiomyocytes. Moreover, the dose‐dependent effect of miR‐29 on mitochondrial potential and homeostasis is monitored. Altogether, our nanochannel array platform provides efficient trapping and transfection of primary mouse cardiomyocyte, which can improve the quality control for future microRNA therapy in heart diseases.  相似文献

We present a case study of how scientometric tools can reveal the structure of scientific theory in a discipline. Specifically, we analyze the patterns of word use in the discipline of cognitive science using latent semantic analysis, a well-known semantic model, in the abstracts of over a thousand academic papers relevant to these theories. Our results show that it is possible to link these theories with specific statistical distributions of words in the abstracts of papers that espouse these theories. We show that theories have different patterns of word use, and that the similarity relationships with each other are intuitive and informative. Moreover, we show that it is possible to predict fairly accurately the theory of a paper by constructing a model of the theories based on their distribution of word use. These results may open new avenues for the application of scientometric tools on theoretical divides.  相似文献
