Atmospheric corrosion in tropical and subtropical climate zones: 3. Modeling corrosion and dose-response function for structural metals

The results of statistical analysis of a corrosion-climate database are presented. New dose-response functions have been obtained by methods of multiple and nonlinear analysis for evaluating corrosion-related weight losses of structural metals in the regions with humid tropical and subtropical climate. Dark scabs in corrosion-resistant titanium steel after ladle treatment

Defects in the form of dark scabs detected by ultrasonic monitoring are studied in the macrostructure of corrosion-resistant titanium steel after ladle treatment. The type and morphology of the inclusions in the defect are studied, and their origin is analyzed. The role of exogenous and endogenous inclusions in the dark scab is discussed.     

A device for measuring the content of CO<Subscript>2</Subscript> dissolved in water

The design of a simple device intended for measuring carbon dioxide content in water is described. The device is a continuous-flow chamber with a water dispersion unit built into it.     

Influence of Moisture Transfer on Heat Transfer under the Action of an Inhomogeneous Electric Field in Conical Capillaries

A numerical study of the influence of an inhomogeneous electric field (IEF) on the film moisture transfer in the presence of a temperature gradient along a water film in a quartz conical capillary has been made. It has been shown that in the case of oppositely directed temperature gradients and the electric field (EF) intensity in the film, there is a considerable increase in the heat flux in the capillary due to the intensification of the transfer of the heat content of water as a result of the appearance of additional electromoisture fluxes under the action of the ponderomotive forces of the inhomogeneous electric field.     

Influence of inhomogeneous electric and magnetic fields on internal mass transfer in capillary-porous bodies

Spectral characteristics of vorticity and temperature pulsations in turbulent flow with heat sources

We propose a mathematical model of the interaction of vorticity and temperature pulsations for turbulent flow in the mixing layer of wakes.
