Presuming that human visual perception is highly sensitive to the structural information in a scene, we propose the concept of structural activity (SA) together with a model of SA indicator in a new framework for no-reference (NR) image quality assessment (QA) in this study. The proposed framework estimates image quality based on the quantification of the SA information of different visual significance. We propose some alternative implementations of SA indicator in this paper as examples to demonstrate the effectiveness of the SA-motivated framework. Comprehensive testing demonstrates that the model of SA indicator exhibits satisfactory performance in comparison with subjective quality scores as well as representative full-reference (FR) image quality measures. 相似文献
This paper compares the gate-induced drain leakage (GIDL) in fully-depleted (FD) silicon-on-insulator (SOI) tunneling field effect transistor (TFET) and in standard metal-oxide-semiconductor FET (MOSFET) fabricated in the same process. The measurements show that the MOSFET GIDL current is lower than the GIDL in a TFET with the same junction doping, especially for devices with thick gate oxide and under low drain bias. A model describing lateral band-to-band tunneling (BTBT) is developed for GIDL in the FD-SOI TFET. By combining the model of gate-controllable tunneling diode in series with a field effect diode, we achieve an accurate picture of GIDL in FD-SOI MOSFETs. 相似文献
A new method for generating optical microwave mixing based on the optical phase modulation and the fiber chromatic dispersion is further investigated. A theoretical approach based on the analysis of the optical field spectrum has lead to the evaluation of the mixing power and optimal fiber lengths of 60-GHz radio-over-fiber (RoF) networks. Numerous directional medium access control (DMAC) protocols have been developed to enhance the capacity of ad hoc networks using the underlying advanced physical layer techniques, such as beam-forming, multiuser detection (MUD), and multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO). In this paper, we propose an innovative fully distributed DMAC protocol that cooperatively makes use of polarization diversity in low-mobility urban/suburban outdoor wireless ad hoc network environment. In the proposed cooperative polarization DMAC protocol (CPDMAC), each node directionally senses on both vertical and horizontal polarizations and dynamically adapts polarization that minimizes overall interference in the ad hoc network. Analysis is performed to establish relationship between vertically and horizontally polarized nodes in the network. Further, a theoretical lower bound is derived for probability of successful transmission to show capacity improvement as a function of cross polarization ratio (CPR). Simulation results confirm from 2% up to 400% improvement in average node throughput at data rate of 1.95 Mbps when compared to the traditional DMAC protocol. The aims of the present study were: (1) to determine the relevant objective measurements which could express visual assessment of turkey meat colour; and (2) to use these variables for the early prediction of the colour development of turkey breast meat.
The colour of the meat was assessed subjectively by an expert at a processing plant at 24 hr post mortem, using a four-category scale (score a: light-pale meat, score b: light pink meat or normal meat, score c: dark meat, score d: very dark meat).
Objective measurements included meat pH, temperature, dielectric loss factor, pigment concentration, L* (lightness), a* (redness) and b* (yellowness) colour coordinates determined at different times post mortem.
Colour coordinates and pH were chosen as relevant variables when measured at 1 and 4 hr post mortem and were used in prediction models. Linear analysis (canonical discriminant analysis) showed that the efficiency of prediction was 15%. A non-linear analysis (neural network) gave better prediction; the colour of the meat being correctly predicted for 70% of the muscles. 相似文献
