Phase‐pure powders of stoichiometric BiFeO3 have been prepared by mechanosynthesis. Ceramics sintered by either conventional heating in air or spark plasma sintering (SPS) followed by oxidative anneal in air are highly insulating at room temperature with resistivity, extrapolated from the Arrhenius plots, of ~1016 Ωcm and activation energy 1.15(2) eV, comparable with those of a good‐quality BiFeO3 single crystal. By contrast, the as‐prepared SPS sample without the postsinter anneal shows lower resistivity, e.g., ~1010 Ωcm at 25°C and activation energy 0.67(3) eV, indicating some reduction in the sample by the SPS process. The reason for the high conductivity reported for some ceramic samples in the literature remains unclear at present. 相似文献

The increase in soil salinity poses a serious threat to agricultural yields. Under salinity stress, several Na+ transporters play an essential role in Na+ tolerance in plants. Amongst all Na+ transporters, HKT has been shown to have a crucial role in both mono and dicotyledonous plants in the tolerance to salinity stress. Here we present an overview of the physiological role of HKT transporters in plant Na+ homeostasis. HKT regulation and amino acids important to the correct function of HKT transporters are reviewed. The functions of the most recently characterized HKT members from both HKT1 and HKT2 subfamilies are also discussed. Topics that still need to be studied in future research (e.g., HKT regulation) as well as research suggestions (e.g., generation of HKT mutants) are addressed. 相似文献

The interest of the pharmaceutical industry in lipid drug delivery systems due to their prolonged release profile, biocompatibility, reduction of side effects, and so on is already known. However, conventional methods of preparation of these structures for their use and production in the pharmaceutical industry are difficult since these methods are usually multi-step and involve high amount of organic solvent. Furthermore, some processes need extreme conditions, which can lead to an increase of heterogeneity of particle size and degradation of the drug. An alternative for drug delivery system production is the utilization of supercritical fluid technique. Lipid particles produced by supercritical fluid have shown different physicochemical properties in comparison to lipid particles produced by classical methods. Such particles have shown more physical stability and narrower size distribution. So, in this paper, a critical overview of supercritical fluid-based processes for the production of lipid micro- and nanoparticles is given and the most important characteristics of each process are highlighted. 相似文献

Schizophrenia is a chronic mental disease that disturbs several cognitive functions, such as memory, thought, perception and volition. Schizophrenia’s biological etiology is multifactorial and is still under investigation. Melatonin has been involved in schizophrenia since the first decades of the twentieth century. Research into melatonin regarding schizophrenia has followed two different approaches. The first approach is related to the use of melatonin as a biological marker. The second approach deals with the clinical applications of melatonin as a drug treatment. In this paper, both aspects of melatonin application are reviewed. The effects of different preparation and application conditions of single-coat mortars in their characteristics as fresh and hardened products are described in this work. The parameters under consideration were mixing water, mixing and resting time of the fresh mortar. Tests were made in the fresh mortar like apparent density, amount of entrained air and water retention. Tests with the hardened mortar also included mechanical strength and capillarity evaluations. Finally, practical cases were considered and here some application parameters were studied. The effect of water content in the kneading process of mortars for application as single-coat renders was evaluated in terms of several properties. These properties refer to the mortar product in the fresh and hardened state. Characteristics under evaluation in function of kneading water are, for fresh mortar, the apparent density and entrained air while, for hardened products, apparent density, shrinkage, mechanical properties, abrasion wear and permeability amongst others. If some of these characteristics are obtained by standard tests, others, like abrasion wear, had to be adapted and are described here.Both for fresh and hardened products characteristics, kneading water amount significantly changes them and it was possible to establish the proper content of water to be used in order to get a well-behaved single-coat mortar. 相似文献

A number of hyperbranched polymers containing cyclopentadienyliron moieties were prepared using the A2+B3 method. The A2 compounds used were common diols, dithiols or dichloroarenecomplexes. B3 compounds included either prepared star-shaped molecules or a purchased triol. The effect of the reaction conditions on the
properties of the products was probed. Analysis of the prepared polymers was conducted using 1H and 13C NMR, viscometry, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Viscometry values were generally
found to be low, in the range of 0.175–0.300 dl/g. TGA showed losses starting at approximately 230°C and ending at 280°C,
corresponding to the decomposition of the cyclopentadienyliron moiety. Degradation of the polyether backbone was found to
occur starting at 390–567°C. Glass transition temperatures were found to be between 60 and 134°C, whereas melting temperatures
