Schizophrenia is a chronic mental disease that disturbs several cognitive functions, such as memory, thought, perception and volition. Schizophrenia’s biological etiology is multifactorial and is still under investigation. Melatonin has been involved in schizophrenia since the first decades of the twentieth century. Research into melatonin regarding schizophrenia has followed two different approaches. The first approach is related to the use of melatonin as a biological marker. The second approach deals with the clinical applications of melatonin as a drug treatment. In this paper, both aspects of melatonin application are reviewed. Its clinical use in schizophrenia is emphasized.  相似文献

A number of hyperbranched polymers containing cyclopentadienyliron moieties were prepared using the A2+B3 method. The A2 compounds used were common diols, dithiols or dichloroarenecomplexes. B3 compounds included either prepared star-shaped molecules or a purchased triol. The effect of the reaction conditions on the properties of the products was probed. Analysis of the prepared polymers was conducted using 1H and 13C NMR, viscometry, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Viscometry values were generally found to be low, in the range of 0.175–0.300 dl/g. TGA showed losses starting at approximately 230°C and ending at 280°C, corresponding to the decomposition of the cyclopentadienyliron moiety. Degradation of the polyether backbone was found to occur starting at 390–567°C. Glass transition temperatures were found to be between 60 and 134°C, whereas melting temperatures ranged from 155 to 190°C.  相似文献

A mixture of five new ceramides was isolated from the aerial parts of Rantherium suaveolens and characterized by spectroscopic and chemical methods. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic and chemical methods as (2S, 3S, 4R, 2′R, 14E)-2-(2′-hydroxydocosanoylamino)-14-octadecene-1,3,4-triol (1), (2S,3S,4R,2′R, 14F)-2-(2′-hydroxytricosanoylamino)-14-octadecene-1,3,4-triol (2), (2S,3S,4R,2′R,14F)-2-(2′-hydroxytetracosanoylamino)-14-octadecene-1,3,4-triol (3), (2S,3S,4R,2′R,14E)-2-(2′-hydroxypentacosanoylamino)-14-octadecene-1,3,4-triol (4), and (2S,3S,4R,2′R,14E)-2-(2′-hydroxyhexacosanoylamino)-14-octadecene-1,3,4-triol (5).  相似文献

Pleiotrophin (PTN) is a neurotrophic factor that participates in the development of the embryonic central nervous system (CNS) and neural stem cell regulation by means of an interaction with sulfated glycosaminoglycans (GAGs). Chondroitin sulfate (CS) is the natural ligand in the CNS. We have previously studied the complexes between the tetrasaccharides used here and MK (Midkine) by ligand-observed NMR techniques. The present work describes the interactions between a tetrasaccharide library of synthetic models of CS-types and mimetics thereof with PTN using the same NMR transient techniques. We have concluded that: (1) global ligand structures do not change upon binding, (2) the introduction of lipophilic substituents in the structure of the ligand improves the strength of binding, (3) binding is weaker than for MK, (4) STD-NMR results are compatible with multiple binding modes, and (5) the replacement of GlcA for IdoA is not relevant for binding. Then we can conclude that the binding of CS derivatives to PTN and MK are similar and compatible with multiple binding modes of the same basic conformation.  相似文献

In this study, transparent conducting nanocrystalline ZnO:Ga (GZO) films were deposited by dc magnetron sputtering at room temperature on polymers (and glass for comparison). Electrical resistivities of 8.8 × 10-4 and 2.2 × 10-3 Ω cm were obtained for films deposited on glass and polymers, respectively. The crack onset strain (COS) and the cohesive strength of the coatings were investigated by means of tensile testing. The COS is similar for different GZO coatings and occurs for nominal strains approx. 1%. The cohesive strength of coatings, which was evaluated from the initial part of the crack density evolution, was found to be between 1.3 and 1.4 GPa. For these calculations, a Young's modulus of 112 GPa was used, evaluated by nanoindentation.  相似文献

Efficient catalysts for the synthesis of functionalized anilines from the corresponding substituted nitroaromatics should combine an excellent chemoselectivity with a high hydrogenation activity. The excellent suitability of immobilized Candida antarctica lipase B (Novozym 435) catalyst to carry out the synthesis of methyl oleate (biodiesel) by methanolysis of triolein in ILs based on imidazolium cations with large alkyl side chain (from C12 to C18) has been demonstrated at 60 and 85 °C. The phase behaviour of IL/triolein/methanol and IL/methyl oleate mixtures were studied at different concentrations and temperatures, the best results (up to 98.6% biodiesel yield after 6 h) being obtained for ILs able to provide monophasic reaction systems, i.e. 1-methyl-3-octadecylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide). A continuous enzymatic reactor, based on biocatalysts particles coated with hydrophobic ILs, for biodiesel synthesis in supercritical carbon dioxide was studied at 60 °C and 180 bar. The operational stability of the immobilized lipase was improved by its coating with ILs, i.e. 1-methyl-3-octadecylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate, leading to a two-phase systems with respect to the biodiesel product, which showed an excellent catalytic behaviour in continuous operation under supercritical conditions (up to 82% biodiesel yield after 12 cycles of 4 h).  相似文献

Progress in the field of femtogram (10−15 g) mass delivery relies on finding dependable transport vehicles and uncomplicated methods to tailor the deposition of active substances. Here, current-conductive containers consisting of turbostratic carbon nanotubes were used to store a light-emitting ternary alloy and guide its delivery on demand. We found that the electrically-activated delivery process of this sublimable compound, performed inside a transmission electron microscope, was highly dependent on factors such as the substrate type and current injection mode. Furthermore, our observations suggest that the alleged “missing matter” problem is not solely due to surface migration. Besides extending the field of electrical delivery to the realm of functional materials, the extrusion and mass transport of a sublimable II–VI compound demonstrates that it is possible to guide vapor migration using a carbon nanotube support.  相似文献
