Effective Co/Cu, CoB/Cu, and CoBM (M = Mo,Zn,Fe)/Cu catalysts were prepared on the copper surface by a simple electroless deposition method using a morpholine borane as a reducing agent in the glycine solution. The activity of the deposited catalysts was investigated for hydrogen generation from an alkaline sodium borohydride solution. It was determined that these synthesized catalysts demonstrated the catalytic activity for the hydrolysis reaction of NaBH4. The lowest obtained activation energy (EA) of the hydrolysis reaction of NaBH4was 27 kJ mol?1 for the CoBMo/Cu catalyst. The hydrogen generation rate of 15.30 ml min?1 was achieved using CoBMo/Cu catalysts at 313 K and it increased ~3.5 times with the increase of temperature to 343 K. The highest hydrogen generation rate obtained by CoBMo/Cu films may be related to the hierarchical cauliflower-shaped 3D structures and the high roughness surface area. Moreover, the CoBMo/Cu catalyst showed an excellent reusability.  相似文献

A new technique for the rapid detection and analysis of triterpenic compounds in apple extracts using HPLC was developed and validated. The main advantage of this technique is the short duration of the analysis – this makes this technique superior to others currently applied for the routine HPLC analysis of triterpenic compounds. The developed, optimized, and validated technique was used for the evaluation of triterpenic compounds in samples of different cultivars of apples, their peels, and flesh. In total, four triterpenic compounds were isolated and identified. Ursolic acid was the dominant compound in all the tested apple samples. The highest amounts of triterpenic compounds were detected in the peels of the ‘Lodel’ apple cultivar, and thus apples of this cultivar may be potentially useful for the isolation of individual compounds and the production of functional food and dietary supplements.  相似文献

Magnesium oxide (MgO) is recognised as exhibiting a contact‐based antibacterial activity. However, a comprehensive study of the impact of atomic‐scale surface features on MgO's antibacterial activity is lacking. In this study, the nature and abundance of the native surface defects on different MgO powders are thoroughly investigated. Their impacts on the hydrolysis kinetics, antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli (ATCC 47076), Staphylococcus epidermidis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and the reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation potential are determined and explained. It is shown that a reduction in the abundance of low‐coordinated oxygen atoms on the surface of the MgO improves its resistance to both hydrolysis and antibacterial activity. The ROS generation potential, determined in‐situ using a fluorescence microplate assay and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy, is not an inherent property of the studied MgO, rather it is a side product of hydrolysis (only for the most highly defected MgO particles) and/or a consequence of the MgO/bacteria interaction. The evaluation of the mutual correlations of the hydrolysis, the antibacterial activity and the ROS generation, with their origin in the surface defects' peculiarities, led to the conclusion that the acid/base reaction between the MgO surface and the bacterial wall contributes considerably to the MgO's antibacterial activity.  相似文献

There are twelve operating VVER-440/213 reactors in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. The plant owners have carried out extensive safety enhancement programmes, which have included measures to improve prevention, mitigation and control of design basis accidents. Recently, there have been a number of projects to study the Severe Accident Management aspects of these plants. The plant owners have also initiated Plant Life Management programmes. The objective of the VERSAFE Concerted Action is to create a network of the VVER-440/213 plant owners and operators, which aims at definition of the further research needs of severe accidents and plant ageing from the utilities’ viewpoint. The starting point is to formulate a general approach to severe accident management and plant life management and then proceed to define the needs for the additional information expected from the safety research. The role of national research institutes and organisations of the partner countries is of crucial importance in performing such research and, thus, creating and maintaining the expertise on the national level. The successful completion of the project will assist in establishing well-defined research projects that are oriented to the needs of the end-users and provide information that can be used to facilitate and support the negotiations of the EU applicant countries operating VVER-440 reactors.  相似文献

The spectral deterioration of Hamamatsu S5821 silicon photodiodes for ion types and energies frequently used in Ion Beam Analysis was investigated. Focused proton beams with energies 430 keV and 2 MeV were applied to generate radiation damage via an area selective ion implantation in unbiased diodes at room temperature. The variations of spectroscopic features were measured “in situ” by Ion Beam Induced Current (IBIC) method as a function of fluence, within the 109–5 × 1012 ion/cm2 range and diode bias voltages, between 0 and 100 V.An empirical model has been developed to describe the radiation damage. Equations are derived for the variations of the normalized peak position and peak width. The derived empirical equations are physically correct, as far as they account for the superposition of the influence of charge carrier trapping by native and radiation-induced defects and for the effect of charge carrier velocity saturation with electric field strength, as well.  相似文献

Spray drying is a very useful method for manufacturing of amorphous solid materials. This is mainly due to the possibility of fast solvent evaporation that leads to a rapid transformation of solution to a solid state. Besides evaporation kinetics, there are various process parameters that influence physical and chemical characteristics of such obtained material. The possibility of obtaining a stable amorphous structure of the active pharmaceutical ingredient in a spray dryer was examined. A solution of the hydrochloride crystalline structure of the active pharmaceutical ingredient in a mixture of water and acetonitrile was dried at different temperatures and flowrates of nitrogen used for atomization, as well as the flowrates of the solution. The influence of the process conditions on the properties of the product was analyzed. The final dried products were characterized and identified with a variety of analytical and physical methods. The results showed that a stable amorphous structure of the high purity active pharmaceutical ingredient is obtained, and that the optimal conditions of the process are defined. The amorphous structure is stable at temperatures below 200°C when it is transformed into a new crystal structure. Conditions of high relative air humidity lead to partial transformation.  相似文献

The aim of this work was to compare two food color measurement techniques, the traditional tristimulus colorimeter and an image analysis system. In this sense a computer vision system was developed, consisting of a digital camera, a controlled illumination environment, and a software package to process the images. The conversion between color spaces was performed employing empirical mathematical models; a standard color chart was used for its calibration. The color of 40 samples of raw and processed foods was measured in the CIELAB color space with the computer vision system and a colorimeter. The equivalence between both techniques, for individual L*, a* and b* values, was determined using appropriate hypothesis tests. For most samples both systems provide equivalent results, although the total color difference was high enough to be noticeable. The average was 5.88?±?3.32, with an average absolute ?L*?=?2.79?±?2.42, ?a*?=?3.02?±?2.94; ?b*?=?2.84?±?2.53. In addition, the color measured by the image analyses technique seemed to be more similar to the real ones.  相似文献

The efficacy of copper shavings (Cu(0)) for the removal of Hg2+ from aqueous solution by amalgamation is demonstrated. Two kinds of copper shavings were investigated: (a) chemically processed shavings (Fluka) and (b) recycled shavings from scrap metal. Batch sorption experiments yielded very high retardation coefficients of 28 850-82 830 for the concentration range studied (1-10 000 microg/L Hg2+ dissolved in distilled water or in a 0.01 M CaCl2 matrix solution). Sorption data were well-described bythe Freundlich isotherm equation. Kinetic batch sorption experiments showed that 96-98% of Hg2+ was removed within 2 h. Column experiments were performed with a mercury solution containing 1000 microg/L Hg in a 0.01 M CaCl2 matrix with a flow rate of 0.5 m/d. No mercury breakthrough (c/c(0) = 0.5) could be detected after more than 2300 percolated pore volumes, and the high retardation coefficients determined in the batch studies could be confirmed. Copper was released from the shavings due to the amalgamation process and to copper corrosion by oxygen, resulting in concentrations of mobilized copper of 0.2-0.6 mg/L. Due to their high efficiency in removing Hg2+ from aqueous solution, the use of copper shavings for the removal of mercury from contaminated water is suggested, employing a sequential system of mercury amalgamation followed by the removal of mobilized copper by an ion exchanger such as zeolites. Possible applications could be in environmental technologies such as wastewater treatment or permeable reactive barriers for in situ groundwater remediation.  相似文献
