CLA is of considerable interest because of reported potentially beneficial effects in animal studies. CLA, while not yet unambiguously defined, is a mixture of octadecadienoic acids with conjugated double bonds. The major isomer in natural products is generally considered to be cis-9,trans-11-octadecadienoic acid (c9, t11), which represents >75% of the total CLA in most cases. Other isomers are drawing increased attention. The t7,c9 isomer, which is often the second-most prevalent CLA in natural products, has been reported to represent as much as 40% of total CLA in milk from cows fed a high-fat diet. The need for a reference material became apparent in a recent study directed specifically at measuring t7,c9-CLA in milk, plasma, and rumen. A suitable standard mixture was produced by stirring 0.5 g of γ-linolenic acid (all cis-6,9, 12-C18∶3) with 100 mL of 10% hydrazine hydrate in methanol for 2.5 h at 45°C. The solution was diluted with H2O and acidified with HCl. The resulting partially hydrogenated FA were extracted with ether/petroleum ether, dried with Na2SO4, and conjugated by adding of 6.6% KOH in ethlylene glycol and heating for 1.5 h at 150–160°C. Approximately 20 mg each of cis-6, trans-8; trans-7, cis-9; cis-9, trans-11; and rans-10, cis-12 were obtained along with other FA. Methyl esters (FAME) of these four cis/trans isomers were resolved by Ag+HPLC (UV 233) and partially resolved by GC/(MS or FID) (CP-Sil 88). Treatment of these FAME with I2 yielded all possible cis/trans (geometric) isomers for the four positions 6,8; 7,9; 9,11; and 10,12.  相似文献

Several marine oils and seed oils on the market contain relevant quantities of stearidonic acid (18:4n‐3, SDA). The formation of 18:4n‐3 trans fatty acids (tFA) during the refining of these oils necessitates the development of a method for their quantification. In this study, 18:4n‐3 was isolated from Ahiflower and isomerized to obtain its 16 geometric isomers. The geometric isomers of 18:4n‐3 were isolated by silver ion HPLC (Ag+‐HPLC) and characterized by partial reduction with hydrazine followed by gas chromatography analysis. The elution order of all 16 isomers was established using a 100 m × 0.25 mm 100% poly(biscyanopropyl siloxane) capillary column and at the elution temperature of 180 °C. The 4 mono‐trans‐18:4n‐3 isomers produced during the refining of oils rich in 18:4n‐3 were chromatographically resolved from each other, but c6,t9,c12,c15‐18:4 coeluted with the tetra‐cis isomer. These 2 fatty acids (FA) were resolved by reducing the separation temperature to 150 °C, but this change caused tetra‐cis‐18:4n‐3 to coelute with t6,c9,c12,c15–18:4. Combining the results from 2 isothermal separations (180 and 150 °C) was necessary to quantify the 4 mono‐trans 18:4n‐3 FA in Ahiflower oil.  相似文献

To simulate important aspect of some transportation systems (e.g. demand peaks, temporary capacity variations, temporary over-saturation of supply elements, and formation and dispersion of queues) a new class of models, referred to in the literature as Dynamic Traffic Assignment (DTA) models, have been recently developed. Although Dynamic Traffic Assignment to networks is a relatively new research subject, a great number of models have been proposed in the last two decades. These can be divided in two main classes according to the typology of service they aim at simulating. These are continuous services, considering transportation services available at any time and accessible from several points, such as the services offered by individual road modes (car, bicycle etc.), and scheduled services simulating services available only at certain times and that can be accessed only at certain locations (terminals, stations, airports etc.). In this paper the focus is on continuous services. Models proposed in the literature are reviewed and classified according to basic assumptions on the flow structure, i.e. whether a continuous or a discrete approach is followed, and on the representation of time (discrete vs. continuous). A general modeling framework consisting of supply, demand, and demand-supply interaction models, and including most of the existing specifications is presented both for the discrete time-discrete flow and continuous time continuous flow cases.  相似文献

Recently, some studies linked the computational power of abstract computing systems based on multiset rewriting to models of Petri nets and the computation power of these nets to their topology. In turn, the computational power of these abstract computing devices can be understood by just looking at their topology, that is, information flow.Here we continue this line of research by introducing J languages and proving that they can be accepted by place/transition systems whose underlying net is composed only by join. When designing very complex control strategy using hybrid technology, one usually faces the challenge of balancing effective realization of multi-control modeling with design simplicity. To better manage this difficulty we have used the agent paradigm as a simple and powerful bridge between asynchronous/distributed computation and Matlab environment. The proposed architecture has been used to design a complex hybrid control environment using multi-objective, fuzzy c-means, and genetic algorithms optimization to design hybrid control strategies suitable for the energy flows management on board of hybrid electric vehicles.  相似文献

In this article, a novel technique for user’s authentication and verification using gait as a biometric unobtrusive pattern is proposed. The method is based on a two stages pipeline. First, a general activity recognition classifier is personalized for an specific user using a small sample of her/his walking pattern. As a result, the system is much more selective with respect to the new walking pattern. A second stage verifies whether the user is an authorized one or not. This stage is defined as a one-class classification problem. In order to solve this problem, a four-layer architecture is built around the geometric concept of convex hull. This architecture allows to improve robustness to outliers, modeling non-convex shapes, and to take into account temporal coherence information. Two different scenarios are proposed as validation with two different wearable systems. First, a custom high-performance wearable system is built and used in a free environment. A second dataset is acquired from an Android-based commercial device in a ‘wild’ scenario with rough terrains, adversarial conditions, crowded places and obstacles. Results on both systems and datasets are very promising, reducing the verification error rates by an order of magnitude with respect to the state-of-the-art technologies.  相似文献

We present a laser item identification system (L2IS), installed in a real facility on trial, that is capable of automatically monitoring all transfers of uranium hexafluoride (UF6) cylinders between different process areas. Each cylinder has a unique ‘fingerprint’ represented by the 3D micro-structure of its surface which remains intact even under extreme environmental conditions. L2IS automatically identifies each cylinder through exploring the 3D frontal surface acquired by the laser scanner. The system is composed of a portable unit (operated in attended mode) and a fixed installed unit (operated without inspector presence). The efficiency and accuracy of our identification system were evaluated on a large dataset acquired during several years including a full year of field testing.  相似文献

In this paper, the design, simulation and experimental tests are presented for THROO: a Tracked Hybrid Rover, which has been developed to Overpass Obstacles. The proposed mobile robot has 3-DOFs and it is capable of straight motion, turning ability and two operations, namely rover-like motion with tracks on flat terrain and walking-like motion with track and legs to overpass obstacles to move on uneven terrain. The leg mechanism is composed of a four-bar linkage, which has been synthesized according to the desired features. In particular, the Burmester problem, which aims at finding the geometric parameters of a four-bar linkage required for a prescribed set of finitely separated poses are solved for the case understudy. Dynamic simulations have been carried out and a prototype has been built. The proposed results show the hybrid rover ability to overpass obstacles, for which size is comparable or greater than the track high.  相似文献

In this paper, we present an evaluation of a social adaptive website in the domain of cultural events, iCITY DSA, which provides information about cultural resources and events that promote the cultural heritage in the city of Turin. Using this evaluation, our objective was to investigate the actual usage of a social adaptive website, in an effort to discover the real behavior of users, the unforeseen correlations among user actions and the consequent interactive behavior, the accuracy of both system and social recommendations and their impact on the users themselves, and the role of tagging in the user modeling process. The major contributions of the paper are manifold: insights into user interactions with social adaptive systems; guidelines for future designs; evaluation of the tagging activity and tag meanings in relation to the application domain and thus their impact on the representation of the user model; and a demonstration of how a combination and interplay of evaluation methodologies (e.g., quantitative and qualitative) can enhance our comprehension of evaluation data.  相似文献
