An intelligent process monitoring and fault diagnosis environment has been developed by interfacing multivariate statistical process monitoring (MSPM) techniques and knowledge-based systems (KBS) for monitoring multivariable process operation. The real-time KBS developed in G2 is used with multivariate SPM methods based on canonical variate state space (CVSS) process models. Fault detection is based on T 2 charts of state variables. Contribution plots in G2 are used for determining the process variables that have contributed to the out-of-control signal indicated by large T 2 values, and G2 Diagnostic Assistant (GDA) is used to diagnose the source causes of abnormal process behavior. The MSPM modules developed in Matlab are linked with G2. This intelligent monitoring and diagnosis system can be used to monitor multivariable processes with autocorrelated, crosscorrelated, and collinear data. The structure of the integrated system is described and its performance is illustrated by simulation studies.  相似文献

The present study discusses optimization of cellulase production from isolated cellulolytic bacterium. A simulated annealing (SA) algorithm is proposed for optimization of these processes to achieve the desired production goal. The approach was compared to the use of evolutionary algorithms, i.e., genetic algorithms (GAs) and response surface methodology (RSM). Ochrobactrum haematophilum was identified as the isolated bacteria. Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) concentration, yeast extract, pH, and incubation temperature were the significant factors screened by Plackett–Burman design and further optimized using a central composite design. The optimum values obtained were CMC concentration = 4.76% (w/v), yeast extract = 2.03% (w/v), pH = 6.3, and temperature = 44.2°C. Carboxy methyl cellulase (CMCase) activity at these values was experimentally determined to be 3.55 ± 0.16 U/ml, which was 2.8 times than the unoptimized system (1.23 U/ml). The growth-associated and non-growth-associated Leudeking–Piret constants, α and β, were respectively determined to be 0.3943 and 0.0105. The Michaelis–Menten constants, Vmax and Km, were determined to be 0.67 µmol/min and 2.42 mg CMC/ml, respectively. The variable-sized SA seems to be the best alternative, outperforming the GAs, showing a fast convergence and low variability among the several runs for optimized production cellulose recovery. The SA models are found to be capable of better predictions of cellulase production. The results of the SA-based RSM model indicate that it is much more robust and accurate in estimating the values of dependent variables when compared with the GA-based RSM models and only RSM models.  相似文献

A bottom-up approach to nanofabricate metallic glasses from metal clusters as building blocks is presented. Considering metallic glasses as a subclass of cluster-assembled materials, the relation between the two lively fields of metal clusters and metallic glasses is pointed out. Deposition of selected clusters or collections of them, generated by state-of-the-art cluster beam sources, could lead to the production of a well-defined amorphous material. In contrast to rapidly quenched glasses where only the composition of the glass can be controlled, in cluster-assembled glasses, one can precisely control the structural building blocks. Comparing properties of glasses with similar compositions but differing in building blocks and therefore different in structure will facilitate the study of structure–property correlation in metallic glasses. This bottom-up method provides a novel alternative path to the synthesis of glassy alloys and will contribute to improving fundamental understanding in the field of metallic glasses. It may even permit the production of glassy materials for alloys that cannot be quenched rapidly enough to circumvent crystallization. Additionally, gaining deeper insight into the parameters governing the structure–property relation in metallic glasses can have a great impact on understanding and design of other cluster-assembled materials.  相似文献

An untapped source of amorphous SiO2, industrially generated Indian biomass ash (SA)—90% amorphous, with composition of ~60% SiO2 and ~20% unburnt carbon—can be used to produce cementitious and alkali-activated binders. This study reports dissolution of amorphous Si from SA in 0.5 mol/L and 1 mol/L aqueous NaOH, with and without added Ca(OH)2, at SA:Ca(OH)2 wt% ratios of 100:0, 87.5:12.5, and 82.5:17.5. Monitoring of elemental dissolution and subsequent/simultaneous product uptake by ICP-OES offers an effective process for evaluating utility of industrial wastes in binder-based systems. After 28 days in solution, up to 68% of total Si is dissolved from SA in 1 mol/L NaOH, with values as much as 38% lower in the presence of Ca(OH)2, due to the formation of tobermorite-like C-S-H. FTIR, 29Si MAS-NMR, and XRD are used to characterize solid reaction products and observe reaction progress. Product chemistries calculated from ICP-OES results and verified by selective dissolution in EDTA/NaOH—namely, Ca/Si of 0.6-1 and Na adsorption of 1-2 mmol/g—are found to be consistent with those indicated by aforementioned techniques. This indicates the efficacy of ICP-OES in estimating product chemistry via such a methodology.  相似文献

Citric acid was labeled with 99mTc with an efficiency of > 99%. The biodistribution of 99mTc-citrate was studied in mice with turpentine-induced abscesses in comparison to 67Ga-citrate. The max. abscess/muscle concentration ratios were 4.61 +/- 1.92 (3 h) for 99mTc-citrate and 4.76 +/- 2.04 (4 h) for 67Ga-citrate. Arthritis was induced in 10 rabbits by intra-articular injection of ovalbumin Scintigrams obtained 4 days later and at 3 h post-injection of 99mTc-citrate showed increased activity involving the synovium. The max. arthritic/contralateral knee ratio was 3.19 +/- 1.29 (3 h) and 6.47 +/- 3.71 (24 h) for 99mTc- and 67Ga-citrate, respectively. The blood clearance curve of 99mTc-citrate in rabbits was biexponential with a fast (T1/2 = 36 min) and a slow (T1/2 = 18 h) component, compared to mono-exponential clearance of 67Ga-citrate (T1/2 = 23 h). In 10 patients with rheumatoid arthritis whole-body scintigrams and spot images of involved joints indicated localization of the tracer in inflamed tissues. The mean target-to-soft tissue ratios were 3.04 +/- 0.81 and 4.95 +/- 2.56 for 99mTc-citrate and 99mTc-MDP, respectively. Renal clearance of radioactivity was evident from the scintigrams. Our results demonstrated that 99mTc-citrate is effective as a radiopharmaceutical for the visualization of inflammatory lesions and may be preferred to 67Ga-citrate due to the ideal physical characteristics of the radionuclide, easy preparation, low cost, early accumulation and the preference for the renal route of excretion.  相似文献

With decreasing incidence of pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP) in AIDS as a result of prophylactic regimens, there is a higher incidence of tuberculosis (TB), mycobacterium avii complex (MAC), kaposi sarcoma and malignant lymphoma. There is a need for differentiating these various pathological entities. The purpose of this study was for a retrospective evaluation of sequential thallium and gallium scans in AIDS patients for differentiating intrathoracic kaposi sarcoma from malignant lymphoma and opportunistic infections. METHODS: A total of 181 patients had both studies completed between March 1992 and May 1994. The final diagnosis was verified only in 83 patients. Results were correlated with the CD4 counts, bronchoscopic and chest radiograph findings. RESULTS: In patients with pulmonary kaposi sarcoma and no opportunistic infections (19 patients), a thallium-positive, gallium-negative pattern was detected in 17 patients with a sensitivity of 89%. In the presence of kaposi sarcoma plus opportunistic infections, this pattern was only detected in 7 of 19 patients (sensitivity dropped to 37%). In 45 patients with opportunistic infections and no kaposi sarcoma, only two false-positive findings were found in patients with cytomegalic virus pneumonia for a specificity of 96%. For the whole group of 83 patients, sensitivity was 63%; specificity 95%; positive predictive value 92%; accuracy 81%; and negative predictive value 75%. CONCLUSION: A thallium-positive, gallium-negative pattern in AIDS patients has a high specificity for the diagnosis of kaposi sarcoma, however, the sensitivity dropped from 89% to 37% in the presence of opportunistic infections.  相似文献

Permeabilities of cast films of methylmethacrylate-co-methacrylic acid (MMA—MAA) and its 5% neutralized Na1+, CS1+, Zn2+, Ba2+, and Al3+ ionomers for urea, sodium chloride, and creatinine were determined using a double (donor and acceptor) compartment cell. Film permeability was increased as the ionic potential decreased and it was more marked with urea as compared with sodium chloride and creatinine. Tensile properties of the above samples were also tested and variations in Young's Moduli were based on the effect of type of aggregates produced by the cations in the matrix of the copolymer. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The luminescence dynamics in ensembles of nanocrystals are complicated by a variety of processes, including the size-dependence of the radiative and non-radiative rates in inhomogeneous broadened samples and interparticle interactions. This results in a non-exponential decay, which for the specific case of silicon nanocrystals (SiNCs) has been widely modeled with a Kohlrausch or “stretched exponential” (SE) function. We first derive the population decay function for a luminescence decay following exp[??(t/τ)β]. We then compare the distributions and mean times calculated by assuming that either the luminescence decay or the population decay follows this function and show that the results are significantly different for β much below 1. We then apply these two types of SE functions as well as other models to the luminescence decay data from two thermally grown SiNC samples with different mean sizes. The mean lifetimes are strongly dependent on the experimental setup and the chosen fitting model, none of which appears to adequately describe the ensemble decay dynamics. Frequency-resolved spectroscopy (FRS) techniques are then applied to SiNCs in order to extract the lifetime distribution directly. The rate distribution has a half width of ~?0.5 decades and mainly resembles a somewhat high-frequency-skewed lognormal function. The combination of TRS and FRS methods appear best suited to uncovering the luminescence dynamics of NC materials having a broad emission spectrum.  相似文献

Connectionist methods and knowledge-based techniques are two largely complementary approaches to natural language processing (NLP). However, they both have some potential problems which preclude their being a general purpose processing method. Research reveals that a hybrid processing approach that combines connectionist with symbolic techniques may be able to use the strengths of one processing paradigm to address the weakness of the other one. Hence, a system that effectively combines the two different approaches can be superior to either one in isolation. This paper describes a hybrid system—SYMCON (SYMbolic and CONnectionist) which integrates symbolic and connectionist techniques in an attempt to solve the problem of word sense disambiguation (WSD), which is arguably one of the most fundamental and difficult issues in NLP. It consists of three sub-systems: first, a distributed simple recurrent network (SRN) is trained by using the standard back-propagation algorithm to learn the semantic relationships among concepts, thereby generating categorical constraints that are supplied to the other two sub-systems as the initial results of pre-processing. The second sub-system of SYMCON is a knowledge-based symbolic component consisting of a knowledge base containing general inferencing rules in a certain application domain. Third, a localist network is used to select the best interpretation among multiple alternatives and potentially ambiguous inference paths by spreading activation throughout the network. The structure, initial states, and connection weights of the network are determined by the processing outcome in the other two sub-systems. This localist network can be viewed as a medium between the distributed network and the symbolic sub-system. Such a hybrid symbolic/connectionist system combines information from all three sources to select the most plausible interpretation for ambiguous words.  相似文献
