Single optically levitated microparticles were investigated by Raman spectroscopy. The particles were composed of di-octyl-phthalate (DOP) and glycerol; these substances are not mixable and form a two-phase droplet. Measurements of the Raman spectrum confirm the formation of droplets containing both chemical species. The spectra show strong input and output structural resonances as expected. If the particle is in resonance, the field inside the particle is enhanced, and most of the inelastically scattered light is emitted from molecules close to the droplet rim. If the particle does not fulfill the resonance condition, the contribution of an individual molecule to the Raman scattering does not depend strongly on the radial position of this molecule. On this basis, the radial distribution of the two components inside the evaporating droplet was determined by time-dependent measurements of the Raman spectrum. Furthermore, elastic-light scattering and the evaporation characteristics of the particles were investigated.  相似文献

In recent years, finite element analyses have increasingly been utilized for slope stability problems. In comparison to limit equilibrium methods, numerical analyses do not require any definition of the failure mechanism a priori and enable the determination of the safety level more accurately. The paper compares the performances of strength reduction finite element analysis (SRFEA) with finite element limit analysis (FELA), whereby the focus is related to non-associated plasticity. Displacement-based finite element analyses using a strength reduction technique suffer from numerical instabilities when using non-associated plasticity, especially when dealing with high friction angles but moderate dilatancy angles. The FELA on the other hand provides rigorous upper and lower bounds of the factor of safety (FoS) but is restricted to associated flow rules. Suggestions to overcome this problem, proposed by Davis (1968), lead to conservative FoSs; therefore, an enhanced procedure has been investigated. When using the modified approach, both the SRFEA and the FELA provide very similar results. Further studies highlight the advantages of using an adaptive mesh refinement to determine FoSs. Additionally, it is shown that the initial stress field does not affect the FoS when using a Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion.  相似文献

Diterpenoidal anti-cancer drug andrographolide (AD) was encapsulated into solid lipid nanoparticle (SLN) because of poor aqueous solubility and high lipophilicity. AD-SLNs were prepared by solvent injection method and characterized for droplet size, surface morphology, zeta potential, etc. In vitro drug release was carried out by dialysis-membrane method. A pharmacokinetic study was performed by UPLC/Q-TOF-MS method to determine the maximum plasma concentration (Cmax), area under the curve (AUC), etc. There was an improvement in Cmax and AUC of AD-SLNs when compared with AD, thereby enhancing the bioavailability of AD. The tmax was increased than that of AD suspension, indicating the sustained release pattern of AD-SLNs. The antitumor activity was carried out on Balb/c mice showing better results with AD-SLNs as compared to AD. Thus, the AD-loaded SLNs would be useful for delivering poorly water-soluble AD with enhanced bioavailability and improved antitumor activity.  相似文献

The feed‐to‐glass conversion, which comprises complex chemical reactions and phase transitions, occurs in the cold cap during nuclear waste vitrification. To investigate the conversion process, we analyzed heat‐treated samples of a simulated high‐level waste feed using X‐ray diffraction, electron probe microanalysis, leaching tests, and residual anion analysis. Feed dehydration, gas evolution, and borate phase formation occurred at temperatures below 700°C before the emerging glass‐forming melt was completely connected. Above 700°C, intermediate aluminosilicate phases and quartz particles gradually dissolved in the continuous borosilicate melt, which expanded with transient foam. Knowledge of the chemistry and physics of feed‐to‐glass conversion will help us control the conversion path by changing the melter feed makeup to maximize the glass production rate.  相似文献

A Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) is the most common nosocomial infection worldwide. The main virulence factors of pathogenic C. difficile are TcdA and TcdB, which inhibit small Rho-GTPases. The inhibition of small Rho-GTPases leads to the so-called cytopathic effect, a reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, an impairment of the colon epithelium barrier function and inflammation. Additionally, TcdB induces a necrotic cell death termed pyknosis in vitro independently from its glucosyltransferases, which are characterized by chromatin condensation and ROS production. To understand the underlying mechanism of this pyknotic effect, we conducted a large-scale phosphoproteomic study. We included the analysis of alterations in the phosphoproteome after treatment with TcdA, which was investigated for the first time. TcdA exhibited no glucosyltransferase-independent necrotic effect and was, thus, a good control to elucidate the underlying mechanism of the glucosyltransferase-independent effect of TcdB. We found RAS to be a central upstream regulator of the glucosyltransferase-independent effect of TcdB. The inhibition of RAS led to a 68% reduction in necrosis. Further analysis revealed apolipoprotein C-III (APOC3) as a possible crucial factor of CDI-induced inflammation in vivo.  相似文献

The objective of the present study was to examine the role of the corpus callosum (CC) in dichotic listening. For this purpose, 40 right-handed healthy male participants were assessed with morphological and diffusion tensor imaging, which yielded macrostructural (midsagittal area) and microstructural (mean diffusion, fractional anisotropy) measures of the total CC and predefined subregions. Applying the standard consonant-vowel Bergen Dichotic Listening Test (including 3 different attentional instructions), the authors found dichotic listening performance to be substantially related to the integrity of the CC at both macro- and microstructural levels. Results indicate a dual role of the CC; it is relevant not only for the stimulus-driven (bottom-up) transfer of left-ear input to the left hemisphere but also for its attentional (top-down) modulation. Following several years of development the construction of a multichannel time-resolved imaging device for medical optical tomography has been completed. Images are reconstructed from time-resolved measurements by use of a scheme that employs a finite-element diffusion-based forward model and an iterative reconstruction solver. Prior to testing on clinical subjects the fully automated instrument and the reconstruction software are evaluated with tissue-equivalent phantoms. We describe our first attempt to generate multiple-slice images of a phantom without uniform properties along the axial direction, while still using a computationally fast two-dimensional reconstruction algorithm. The image quality is improved by the employment of an approximate correction method that uses scaling factors derived from the ratios of finite-element forward simulations in two and three spatial dimensions. The 32-channel system was employed to generate maps of the internal scattering and the absorption properties at 14 different transverse planes across the phantom. The images clearly reveal the locations of small inhomogeneous regions embedded within the phantom. These results were obtained by use of purely temporal data and without resource to reference measurements.  相似文献

The objective of the study was to develop a biocompatible composite system which was composed of TZP-ceramic (tetragonal zirconia polycrystals, ZrO2 stabilized with 3 mol% Y2O3) and two glass-ceramics of the SiO2–Li2O–ZrO2–P2O5 type. The metal-free composite system would satisfy the translucency, the biocompatibility and the strength requirements of dentistry. The two glass-ceramics of the SiO2–Li2O–ZrO2–P2O5 type with a content of 15 and 20 wt% ZrO2 respectively, were chemically and physically adapted to TZP-ceramic. The glass-ceramics were used as a dentin buildup material. The TZP-ceramic had the function of a root post. The shape of the post was cylindrical with a conical tip. The composite system was easy to process through viscous flow of the glass-ceramic at 900 and 1000°C, respectively. The microstructure and the mechanical properties of two glass-ceramics of the SiO2–Li2O–ZrO2–P2O5 type were examined therefore.  相似文献
