Automatic classes are classes of languages for which a finite automaton can decide whether a given element is in a set given by its index. The present work studies the learnability of automatic families by automatic learners which, in each round, output a hypothesis and update a long-term memory, depending on the input datum, via an automatic function. Many variants of automatic learners are investigated: where the long-term memory is restricted to be the current hypothesis whenever this exists, cannot be of length larger than the length of the longest datum seen, or has to consist of a constant number of examples seen so far. Learnability is also studied with respect to queries which reveal information about past data or past computation history; the number of queries per round is bounded by a constant. 相似文献
An extensive study of rheological characteristics of coal tar and petroleum pitches with and without additives, namely, petroleum coke, natural graphite and carbon black has been made. It is found that all pitches, pure or mixed with a carbon additive are not Newtonian as reported in the literature, but behave Theologically as Bingham plastics with certain yield stress and plastic viscosity at all temperatures of measurement between 85–180°C. The yield stress and plastic viscosity both decrease with increase in temperature of the pitch. A pure petroleum pitch having the same softening point as that of a coal tar pitch is found to have a lower viscosity compared to that of the latter at all temperatures of measurement. This suggests that the criterion of softening point as a measure of suitability of a coal tar pitch binder in the manufacture of artificial carbon is not sufficient for petroleum pitches. Addition of ten parts of carbon black by weight of pitch results in a considerable decrease in viscosity change with temperature of the coal tar pitch compared to almost insignificant change in the case of the petroleum pitch of the same softening point. However, the addition of petroleum coke or natural graphite makes the pitch more viscous but does not change the temperature dependence of viscosity of either of the two types of pitches. The silicone rubber vulcanizate powder (SVP) obtained from silicone rubber by mechanical grinding exists in a highly aggregated state. The particle size distribution of SVP is broad, ranging from 2 µm to 110 µm with an average particle size of 33 µm. X‐ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and Infrared (IR) Spectroscopy studies show that there is no chemical change on the rubber surface following mechanical grinding of the heat‐aged (200°C/10 days) silicone rubber vulcanizate. Addition of SVP in silicone rubber increases the Mooney viscosity, Mooney scorch time, shear viscosity and activation energy for viscous flow. Measurement of curing characteristics reveals that incorporation of SVP into the virgin silicone rubber causes an increase in minimum torque, but marginal decrease in maximum torque and rate constant of curing. However, the activation energy of curing shows an increasing trend with increasing loading of SVP. Expectedly, incorporation of SVP does not alter the glass‐rubber transition and cold crystallization temperatures of silicone rubber, as observed in the dynamic mechanical spectra. It is further observed that on incorporation of even a high loading of SVP (i.e., 60 phr), the tensile and tear strength of the silicone rubber are decreased by only about 20%, and modulus dropped by 15%, while the hardness, tension set and hysteresis loss undergo marginal changes and compression stress‐relaxation is not significantly changed. Atomic Force Microscopy studies reveal that incorporation of SVP into silicone rubber does not cause significant changes in the surface morphology. 相似文献
A filter based methodology, studied earlier for SISO systems, is extended to MIMO systems. The presented approach facilitates the calculation of best achievable performance for proportional-integral (PI) controller and the optimal multiloop (ML) PI settings for stochastic disturbance rejection in ML control systems. The filter based approach is further extended to answer some of the key questions for ML control systems such as: (a) performance enhancement possible with the alternate pairing scheme, (b) benefits that will accrue through the employment of decouplers and (c) the performance achievable with the use of multivariable controller (as opposed to an ML controller). An air-water experimental system consisting of two inlets and one outlet is constructed and characterised. It reaches the state of sliding mode, or equivalently, two phase slug flow. The linear hydraulic model proposed in the literature is adequate to describe it. Experimental data are used to tune this model. The resistance to the flow of air through the outlet valve during the two phase flow is much larger than that when air alone flows out. At the operating range, the resistance to water flow is not affected by the presence of air. 相似文献
With the advancement of image acquisition devices and social networking services, a huge volume of image data is generated. Using different image and video processing applications, these image data are manipulated, and thus, original images get tampered. These tampered images are the prime source of spreading fake news, defaming the personalities and in some cases (when used as evidence) misleading the law bodies. Hence before relying totally on the image data, the authenticity of the image must be verified. Works of the literature are reported for the verification of the authenticity of an image based on noise inconsistency. However, these works suffer from limitations of confusion between edges and noise, post-processing operation for localization and need of prior knowledge about an image. To handle these limitations, a noise inconsistency-based technique has been presented here to detect and localize a false region in an image. This work consists of three major steps of pre-processing, noise estimation and post-processing. For the experimental purpose two, publicly available datasets are used. The result is discussed in terms of precision, recall, accuracy and f1-score on the pixel level. The result of the presented work is also compared with the recent state-of-the-art techniques. The average accuracy of the proposed work on datasets is 91.70%, which is highest among state-of-the-art techniques.
The field of robotics is evolving at a very high pace and with its increasing applicability in varied fields, the need to incorporate optimization analysis in robot system design is becoming more prominent. The present work deals with the optimization of the design of a 7-link gripper. As actuators play a crucial role in functioning of the gripper, the actuation system (piezoelectric (PZ), in this case) is also taken into consideration while performing the optimization study. A minimalistic model of PZ actuator, consisting different series and parallel assembly arrangements for both mechanical and electrical parts of the PZ actuators, is proposed. To include the effects of connector spring, the relationship of force with actuator displacement is replaced by the relation between force and the displacement of point of actuation at the physical system. The design optimization problem of the gripper is a non-linear, multi modal optimization problem, which was originally formulated by Osyczka (2002). In the original work, however, the actuator was a ‘constant output-force actuator model’ providing a constant output without describing the internal structure. Thus, the actuator model was not integrated in the optimization study. Four different cases of the PZ modelling have been solved using multi-objective evolutionary algorithm (MOEA). Relationship between force and actuator displacement is obtained using each set of non-dominated solutions. These relationships can provide a better insight to the end user to select the appropriate voltage and gripper design for specific application. 相似文献
Stiction or high static friction is a common problem in spring-diaphragm type control valves, which are widely used in the process industry. Recently, there have been many attempts to understand, define, model and detect stiction in control valves. There are several methods for detecting stiction, but quantification of the actual amount of stiction still remains a challenge. This paper discusses briefly the definition and modelling of stiction. Then it demonstrates a new method to detect and quantify the actual amount of valve stiction using routine operating data. The proposed method is completely data-driven. Results of microhardness measurements on (100) and (110) planes of flux-grown LaBO3 crystals, in the applied load range of 10–100g, are presented. The microhardness was found to decrease with increasing load in a non-linear manner. By applying Hays and Kendall's law, the materials resistance pressure and other constants of the equation could be calculated. Hardness anisotropy, showing periodic variation of Hv with the maxima and minima repeating at every 15° change in orientation of the indentor, is described and discussed. Hmax/Hmin are estimated as 1.14 and 1.06 for (100) and (110) planes, respectively. The fracture toughness values, Kc, determined from measurements of crack lengths, are estimated to be 1.6, 1.7 MN m–3/2 (for (100) planes) and 1.2, 1.5 MN m–3/2 (for (110) planes) at 90 and 100g loads, respectively. The brittleness index, Bi, is estimated as 4.6, 4.0 m–1/2 (for (100) planes) 6.0, 4.6 m–1/2 (for (110) planes) at 90 and 100g, loads respectively. 相似文献
