Transformers are critical components in power systems and their failure can cause long interruption of power supply. The condition of a transformer can be monitored by performing thermal analysis. The use of non-linear devices, such as rectifiers and converters, draws harmonic currents that increase losses in transformers, thereby increasing their operating temperature. In this article, a new numerical approach is presented for determining the rise in hot spot temperature in a 5-kVA, 400/400-V dry-type three-phase transformer laboratory prototype. The key novelty is that the additional winding eddy current loss due to non-linear loads is considered in the numerical modeling. The winding eddy current loss corresponding to harmonic distortion is estimated by conducting experiments and calculations. Numerical simulations are carried out for a wide range of non-linear loads using a commercial computational fluid dynamics package, FLUENT 6.3. The proposed numerical methodology is validated by performing experiments on the transformer for possible non-linear loads and comparing the measured hot spot temperature with the simulated values. Correlation equations for rise in hot spot temperature as a function of total harmonic distortion are presented, which can be used for estimating the life of transformers when connected to different types of loads.  相似文献

In Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) sensors are densely deployed where the intruders can compromise some sensor nodes and inject false data in order to raise false alarms, reduce network lifetime, utilize bandwidth resources and so on. False Data Injection can possibly occur in Data Aggregation (DA) and Data Forwarding (DF). This paper analyses EFDD Protocol-Early False Data Detection Protocol which addresses the two possibilities in a simple and secure way considering the constraints of sensor nodes. The main idea is the selection of the network structure; this protocol will work effectively in Spatial/Semantic Correlation Tree Structure (SCT). False Data Detection in DA is done using some monitoring nodes which will monitor the Data Aggregator. EFDD in SCT structure reduce the counterfeit data transmission when compared to other structure in a better way. The result shows that EFDD reduce data transmission by dropping false data earlier and it also reduces computation when compared to the existing schemes.  相似文献

In utility‐driven cluster computing, cluster Resource Management Systems (RMSs) need to know the specific needs of different users in order to allocate resources according to their needs. This in turn is vital to achieve service‐oriented Grid computing that harnesses resources distributed worldwide based on users' objectives. Recently, numerous market‐based RMSs have been proposed to make use of real‐world market concepts and behavior to assign resources to users for various computing platforms. The aim of this paper is to develop a taxonomy that characterizes and classifies how market‐based RMSs can support utility‐driven cluster computing in practice. The taxonomy is then mapped to existing market‐based RMSs designed for both cluster and other computing platforms to survey current research developments and identify outstanding issues. With the advent of Grid and application technologies, scientists and engineers are building more and more complex applications to manage and process large data sets, and execute scientific experiments on distributed resources. Such application scenarios require means for composing and executing complex workflows. Therefore, many efforts have been made towards the development of workflow management systems for Grid computing. In this paper, we propose a taxonomy that characterizes and classifies various approaches for building and executing workflows on Grids. We also survey several representative Grid workflow systems developed by various projects world-wide to demonstrate the comprehensiveness of the taxonomy. The taxonomy not only highlights the design and engineering similarities and differences of state-of-the-art in Grid workflow systems, but also identifies the areas that need further research.  相似文献

Experimental results on scour below a high vertical drop (drop height/critical depth >1) in uniform sands and gravels are presented. The experimental results are used to describe the effects of important parameters, identified from the dimensional analysis, on equilibrium scour depth. The important observations are that the equilibrium scour depth increases with increase in densimetric Froude number, whereas the scour depth decreases with increase in sediment size and tailwater depth. The time scale of scour depth that follows an exponential law is determined. The nondimensional time scale decreases with increase in densimetric Froude number.  相似文献
