The seasonal patterns of phytoplankton primary production, chlorophyll‐a concentration, cell number and several other limnological variables in Lake Phewa, located in the active monsoon zone in Central Himalaya, Nepal, were studied for a year beginning in April 2001. During the study period, the gross primary production and chlorophyll‐a concentrations were relatively low during the monsoon season. The phytoplankton cell number, represented by 24 genera, also fluctuated seasonally, but tended to increase in the pre‐ and post‐monsoon period. These results suggest that the monsoon plays a crucial role in the primary production and phytoplankton dynamics for Lake Phewa. Among the phytoplankton species, Microcystis aeruginosa, a representative species for eutrophic lakes, was the dominant phytoplankton. At the same time, however, it is clear that the lake is not yet heavily eutrophic. The present study suggests that the exchange of lake water during the monsoon season contributes to maintaining the health of the lake against further degradation. Nevertheless, the silt carried in the monsoon rain run‐off from the lake's catchment area suggests increasingly serious degradation problems for this small mountainous lake. 相似文献

In this work, we designed a new immunodevice that combines competitive immunoreactions on the microparticles, accumulation of these particles by negative dielectrophoresis (n-DEP), and their subsequent capture through hybridization among single-stranded DNAs (ssDNAs). Two widely used pesticides, atrazine and bromopropylate, were used as target molecules to test the resulting simultaneous detection system. For sensing, we prepared two different sets of microparticles: one modified with atrazine-conjugated bovine serum albumin (BSA-2d) and ssDNA-J1(up) and the other with bromopropylate-conjugated aminodextran (AD-155) and ssDNA-J2(up). The microparticles were incubated in a mixture of analyte-specific antibody and analyte at different concentrations to trap the unreacted antibodies prior to being labeled with antibodies conjugated with a fluorescence molecule. A suspension containing both types of microparticles was introduced into an n-DEP device consisting of an interdigitated microarray (IDA) electrode and channel modified with ssDNA-J1(down) and ssDNA-J2(down), which are complementary to ssDNA-J1(up) and ssDNA-J2(up), respectively. The n-DEP force generated by applying AC voltage to the IDA electrode displaced the microparticles toward the encoded areas, causing them to rapidly accumulate on the upper surfaces. Hybridization allowed us to distinguish the microparticles and sense multiple analytes by spatial recognition in the DNA-encoded areas. The fluorescence intensity of the captured particles, which depends on analyte concentrations, was measured selectively by focusing on specific areas. The strategy is advantageous for sensitivity due to the equivalent trapping efficiency by DNA hybridization and large surface area of the microparticle for immunoreactions. The rapidity and simplicity were still supported by particle manipulation. Using this concept, we detect atrazine and bromopropylate simultaneously with limits of detection (LODs) of 0.2 μg·L(-1), which covered the maximum residue level (MRL) in food samples established the European Union (EU) and Japan Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW). 相似文献

The importance of nanodiamond in biological and technological applications has been recognized recently, and applied in drug delivery, biochip, sensors and biosensors. Under this investigation, nanodiamond (ND) and nitrogen doped nanodiamond (NND) were deposited on n-type silicon films, and later functionalized with enzyme Glucose oxidase (GOX). The GOX functionalized doped and undoped ND films were characterized using combination of several techniques; i.e. FTIR spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM) and electrochemical techniques. ND/GOX and NND/GOX thin films on n-type silicon have been found to provide sensitive glucose sensor. A multiresolution analysis of digital gray-level images is presented. A gray-level multi-scale framework is determined from two main assumptions: the gray scale is binary at the finest spatial resolution, and the gray levels of composed regions are obtained additively. In order to interrelate the gray-level histograms of the same image at different resolutions, probabilistic linear models are developed, which are then applied for estimation. Linear-optimization theory is used as a way of constructing such models. A general procedure for image processing is sketched, based on gray-level estimation. A versatile algorithm for nonlinear filtering is derived. Due to its fast, dynamic, and distributed growth process, it is hard to obtain an accurate map of the Internet. In many cases, such a map-representing the structure of the Internet as a graph with nodes and links-is a prerequisite when investigating properties of the Internet. A common way to obtain such maps is to make certain local measurements at a small subset of the nodes, and then to combine these in order to "discover" (an approximation of) the actual graph. Each of these measurements is potentially quite costly. It is thus a natural objective to minimize the number of measurements which still discover the whole graph. We formalize this problem as a combinatorial optimization problem and consider it for two different models characterized by different types of measurements. We give several upper and lower bounds on the competitive ratio (for the online network discovery problem) and the approximation ratio (for the offline network verification problem) in both models. Time–frequency representations have been of great interest in the analysis and classification of non-stationary signals. The use of highly selective transformation techniques is a valuable tool for obtaining accurate information for studies of this type. The Wigner-Ville distribution has high time and frequency selectivity in addition to meeting some interesting mathematical properties. However, due to the bi-linearity of the transform, interference terms emerge when the transform is applied over multi-component signals. In this paper, we propose a technique to remove cross-components from the Wigner-Ville transform using image processing algorithms. The proposed method exploits the advantages of non-linear morphological filters, using a spectrogram to obtain an adequate marker for the morphological processing of the Wigner-Ville transform. Unlike traditional smoothing techniques, this algorithm provides cross-term attenuations while preserving time–frequency resolutions. Moreover, it could also be applied to distributions with different interference geometries. The method has been applied to a set of different time–frequency transforms, with promising results. 相似文献

In this contribution, a stability analysis for a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) connected to a weak ac system containing a dynamic load is presented using continuation techniques and bifurcation theory. The system dynamics are explored through the continuation of periodic solutions of the associated dynamic equations. The switching process in the DVR converter is taken into account to trace the stability regions through a suitable mathematical representation of the DVR converter. The stability regions in the Thevenin equivalent plane are computed. In addition, the stability regions in the control gains space, as well as the contour lines for different Floquet multipliers, are computed. Besides, the DVR converter model employed in this contribution avoids the necessity of developing very complicated iterative map approaches as in the conventional bifurcation analysis of converters. The continuation method and the DVR model can take into account dynamics and nonlinear loads and any network topology since the analysis is carried out directly from the state space equations. The bifurcation approach is shown to be both computationally efficient and robust, since it eliminates the need for numerically critical and long‐lasting transient simulations. The aim of the present study was to establish an aquatic biomonitoring network for the Galician Environmental Specimen Bank (BEAG) (NW Spain). For this, a sampling system was designed that comprised of 121 points distributed throughout Galician rivers, from which samples of water and of three species of bryophytes were collected. The results obtained allowed selection of 74 sampling points and 2 species (Fontinalis antipyretica Hedw. and F. squamosa Hedw.) as the most suitable for use in future BEAG sampling surveys. The two species selected showed a strong similarity in their capacity to accumulate the 17 elements determined (Al, As, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, K, Mg, Mn, Na, Ni, Pb, Se and Zn), as well as in their ecological preferences. Furthermore, the levels of contamination of epicontinental waters were lower than those observed in previous surveys. 相似文献

Cohesion of the fibers network is a key element in numerous manufacturing processes of textile structures and composite parts, because it significantly affects the implementability and the obtained result. However, cohesion remains at the moment an intuitive concept. This paper aims to deal with this concept, first proposing a first interpretation of yarn cohesion. Thanks to this definition, the in-plane shear test is proposed to characterize and measure cohesion. Among many difficulties, it appears to be an interesting way to analyze the cohesion of yarns extracted from 7 different batches and to establish the link between cohesion and implementation in manufacturing processes of Herakles which supports this study. In addition, the phenomenon responsible for the yarn cohesion are tackled and the influence of the yarn constitution is analyzed. 相似文献
