The corrosion inhibitive effects of new polyvinylpyrrolidone stabilized crystalline super-paramagnetic nanoparticles (5–20?nm) were investigated. Several characterization techniques confirmed the high stability of the prepared stabilized nanoparticles in solution. The polarization and EIS measurements showed that the inhibition efficiency increased with increasing concentration of the magnetite nanoparticles. The results obtained from EIS and electrochemical polarization curves are in reasonably good agreement. The obtained results suggest that the prepared stabilized system is an excellent inhibitor for carbon steel corrosion in 1?M HCl solution. 相似文献
Thin films of CdS, deposited by chemical bath deposition (CBD) onto films of fluorine-doped tin oxide/glass (glass/FTO) substrates were prepared and investigated for photoelectrochemical conversion (PEC) of light into electricity. Knowing the hazardous nature of CdS, the focal theme of this work was to modify the electrodes by simple economic ways to maximize their conversion efficiency and minimize their degradation under PEC conditions. This was to avoid leaching out of hazardous Cd2+ ions. Different parameters have been investigated for this purpose. Multi-deposition preparation, redox couple, and electrode etching affected electrode PEC characteristics. Consistent with earlier literature, annealing the electrode enhanced its conversion efficiency and stability. On the other hand, effect of cooling rate of pre-annealed CdS electrodes, prepared by CBD, on their PEC characteristics has been investigated here for the first time. Controlling the cooling rate was one major factor that affected CdS surface morphology, conversion efficiency and stability under PEC conditions. The major recommendation coming out here is that PEC characteristics of CdS thin film electrodes can be significantly enhanced by pre-annealing the electrode at ∼250 °C followed by its slow cooling. 相似文献

Carbon dioxide capture and sequestration is drawing increasing attention as a potential method for controlling greenhouse gas emissions. Low cost ionic liquid analogues, namely, deep eutectic solvents (DESs), have attracted more attention for use in a diversity of applications. DESs exhibit many favourable properties, such as availability, non-toxicity, biodegradability, recyclability, non-flammability, and low price. 相似文献
Introduction: Onychomycosis, a common fungal infection in the finger and toe nails, affects approximately 2–8% of the worldwide population. Fungal infection is more complicated in those who suffer from conditions, such as diabetes, peripheral vascular diseases and compromised immune diseases.
Area covered: Onychomycosis treatment has been classified on the basis of location of infection in the toes and fingers and infectious agents (dermatophytes fungi, yeast and non-dermatophyte molds). In this review, the available therapies (traditional and device based) and their limitations for the treatment of onychomycosis have been discussed.
Expert opinion: The success rate with topical nail products has been minimal. The main reason for this poor success rate could be attributed to the lack of complete understanding of the pathophysiology of the disease and clinical pharmacokinetic data of drugs in the infected nail apparatus. 相似文献
Polyindole is considered an excellent conducting polymer with interested properties for different applications. A novel polyindole (PIn)/CuInS (CIS)/ZnS quantum dots (QDs) nanocomposite was synthesized via in situ polymerization of PIn in presence of CIS/ZnS QDs. By investigating the effect of CIS/ZnS QDs on optical properties of PIn, it was found that the optical band gaps of PIn, CIS/ZnS QDs, and PIn/CIS/ZnS QDs nanocomposite were 3.24 eV, 4.68 eV and 3.44 eV, respectively. From the luminance spectra, it was observed that emission peaks of PIn at 442 and 468 nm are independent of the excitation wavelength with the highest intensity at excitation wavelength of 380 nm. However, the luminance spectrum of PIn/CIS/ZnS QDs nanocomposite exhibited a quenching peak for CIS/ZnS QDs while the intensity of PIn peak was enhanced. High resolution of transmission electron microscope image of CIS/ZnS QDs revealed nanocrystals with a size of 3–4.5 nm and lattice space of 0.2 nm. PIn/CIS/ZnS QDs nanocomposite as the fluorescent probe was employed for sensing different concentrations of Pb2+ from 5 to 50 ppb. The reaction between PIn/CIS/ZnS QDs and Pb2+ was slightly quenched and fixed after 90 min. The emission peak was reduced gradually with increasing concentration of lead via photo-induced electron transfer or ion exchange mechanism. The value of correlation coefficient (R2) was 0.99, the sensitivity was 0.0041 ppb?1 and limit of detection value was 4.48 ppb.
A new transformation method is proposed and used to transform op-amp-RC circuits to Gm-C ones with only grounded capacitors. The proposed method enables the generation of high-performance Gm-C filters that benefit from the advantages of good and well-known op-amp-RC structures and at the same time feature electronic
tunability, high frequency capability and monolithic integration ability. An attractive feature of the proposed method is
that it results in Gm-C structures with only grounded capacitors in spite of the presence of floating capacitors in the original op-amp-RC circuits.
