This paper presents the design and application of an efficient hybrid heuristic search method to solve the practical economic dispatch problem considering many nonlinear characteristics of power generators, and their operational constraints, such as transmission losses, valve-point effects, multi-fuel options, prohibited operating zones, ramp rate limits and spinning reserve. These practical operation constraints which can usually be found at the same time in realistic power system operations make the economic load dispatch problem a nonsmooth optimization problem having complex and nonconvex features with heavy equality and inequality constraints.The proposed approach combines in the most effective way the properties of two of the most popular evolutionary optimization techniques now in use for power system optimization, the Differential Evolution (DE) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithms. To improve the global optimization property of DE, the PSO procedure is integrated as additional mutation operator.The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm (termed DEPSO) is demonstrated by solving four kinds of ELD problems with nonsmooth and nonconvex solution spaces. The comparative results with some of the most recently published methods confirm the effectiveness of the proposed strategy to find accurate and feasible optimal solutions for practical ELD problems.  相似文献

Conventional fossil diesel fuel and renewable diesel fuel based on hydrotreated vegetable oils (HVO) were compared regarding the oxidation characteristics of the generated soot particulate. The comparison was performed by utilizing a high-temperature oxidation tandem differential mobility analyser in which monodisperse soot aerosol was first selected and then heated in a high-temperature furnace. The particle size reduction caused by oxidation during the furnace treatment was then measured as a function of furnace temperature. The results indicate that soot oxidation is very similar between the studied fuels. This is supported by the obtained HR-TEM images and EELS-spectra which were practically indistinguishable between different fuels and engine conditions. The similar oxidation properties and surface structure between fossil and HVO-based diesel fuels imply that the oxidative aftertreatment devices designed for fossil diesel should work well also with the studied renewable diesel fuel.  相似文献

The present work was undertaken to study the influence of four commodities (wheat flour, dates, sorghum and barley) on Plodia interpunctella post-embryonic development. Larval weight, larval mortality, pupation and adult emergence were recorded. The study also aimed to find out the effect of these commodities on protein and glycogen production as well as on α-amylase activity. Results indicated that the weight of fourth instar larvae placed on dates increased gradually. Percentage mortality was low. Pupation and adult emergence were delayed. In contrast, the weight of larvae placed on wheat flour, sorghum or barley remained low. Pupation and adult emergence occurred sooner than among those placed on dates and the percentage mortality was highest for larvae placed on barley. Results also showed that protein content and α-amylase activity were lower for larvae placed on dates than for those placed on other commodities. The biochemical composition of different commodities showed that dates are a rich source of glucose, while their protein and starch contents were very low as compared to the other commodities. In contrast, wheat flour, sorghum and barley contained large amounts of starch and protein and low amounts of glucose. Thus, the reduction in α-amylase activity was probably due to the high levels of glucose in dates.  相似文献

Abstract— The unique advantage of projection displays is the ability to produce large images from small devices. The use of lasers as the projection light source will mean a further step in terms of compactness as well as efficiency for projection systems. However, the advent of laser projection is currently still limited by the availability of low‐cost green lasers. Blue‐diode‐pumped solid‐state lasers are one promising way to realize green as well as red lasers that are specifically suited for projection applications. An efficient solid‐state laser that is based on Pr3+:YLF as the laser material, pumped by a blue‐laser diode and emitting at 523 nm, is presented here. The laser reaches power‐conversion efficiencies of more than 7% and output powers of up to 378 mW at green wavelengths. By making only minor modifications to the laser resonator, a red laser emitting at 640 nm can be realized within the same setup. An output power of 166 mW at a power‐conversion efficiency of 6.9% is demonstrated in the red. By combining a red‐ and a green‐emitting blue‐diode‐pumped solid‐state laser with another blue diode, an integrated RGB projection light source can be realized that is based on a single‐diode technology.  相似文献

III‐nitrides are considered the material of choice for light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) and lasers in the visible to ultraviolet spectral range. The development is hampered by lattice and thermal mismatch between the nitride layers and the growth substrate leading to high dislocation densities. In order to overcome the issue, efforts have gone into selected area growth of nanowires (NWs), using their small footprint in the substrate to grow virtually dislocation‐free material. Their geometry is defined by six tall side‐facets and a pointed tip which limits the design of optoelectronic devices. Growth of dislocation‐free and atomically smooth 3D hexagonal GaN micro‐prisms with a flat, micrometer‐sized top‐surface is presented. These self‐forming structures are suitable for optical devices such as low‐loss optical cavities for high‐efficiency LEDs. The structures are made by annealing GaN NWs with a thick radial shell, reforming them into hexagonal flat‐top prisms with six equivalents either m‐ or s‐facets depending on the initial heights of the top pyramid and m‐facets of the NWs. This shape is kinetically controlled and the reformation can be explained with a phenomenological model based on Wulff construction that have been developed. It is expected that the results will inspire further research into micron‐sized III‐nitride‐based devices.  相似文献

For the purpose of functionalizing III‐V semiconductor nanowires using n‐doping, Sn‐doped GaAs zincblende nanowires are produced, using the growth method of Aerotaxy. The growth conditions used are such that Ga droplets, formed on the nanowire surface, increase in number and concentrations when the Sn‐precursor concentration is increased. Droplet‐covered wires grown with varying Sn concentrations are analyzed by transmission electron microscopy and electron tomography, which together establish the positioning of the droplets to be preferentially on {?111}B facets. These facets have the same polarity as the main wire growth direction, [?1?1?1]B. This means that the generated Ga particles can form nucleation sites for possible nanowire branch growth. The concept of azimuthal mapping is introduced as a useful tool for nanowire surface visualization and evaluation. It is demonstrated here that electron tomography is useful in revealing both the surface and internal morphologies of the nanowires, opening up for applications in the analysis of more structurally complicated systems like radially asymmetrical nanowires. The analysis also gives a further understanding of the limits of the dopants which can be used for Aerotaxy nanowires.  相似文献

The Suzuki–Miyaura reactions using mesoporous‐supported aryldicyclohexylphosphine as ligand have been investigated. The catalysts were based on SBA‐15 type mesoporous silica which was transformed in a four‐step synthesis leading to a phosphine‐containing hybrid material The most productive catalytic system studied was generated in situ from this material and the homogeneous palladium complex, Pd(OAc)2. Other catalytic systems were studied for comparison [homogeneous cataysts, a “preformed” catalyst obtained by reaction of PdCl2(PhCN)2 and the phosphine‐containing material]. Variations involving the solvent system, the substrate aryl chloride and the arylboronic acid reactant were also studied. For both in situ and preformed catalyst systems, high conversions and yields are obtained for activated aryl chlorides. Success of the reaction for unactivated aryl chlorides was limited to the catalyst formed in situ. The catalyst formed in situ was also shown to be reactive under aqueous reaction conditions in the cross‐coupling of 1‐(4‐chlorophenyl)ethanone with phenylboronic acid.  相似文献

We have investigated individual bulk-like wires of wurtzite InP using photoluminescence, photoluminescence excitation spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. Using two different methods we find that the top of the valence band is split, as expected theoretically. This splitting of the valence band is peculiar to wurtzite InP and does not occur in zinc blende InP. We find the energy difference between the two bands to be 40 meV.  相似文献
