The singular nature of the UTD (uniform geometrical theory of diffraction) subreflector scattered field at the vicinity of the main reflector edge (for a high-grain antenna design) is investigated. It is shown that the singularity in the UTD edge-diffracted and slope-diffracted fields is due to the reflection distance parameter approaching infinity in the transition functions. While the GO (geometrical optics) and UTD edge-diffracted fields exhibit singularities of the same order, the edge slope-diffracted field singularity is more significant and is substantial for greater subreflector edge tapers. The diffraction analysis of such a subreflector in the vicinity of the main reflector edge has been carried out efficiently and accurately by a stationary phase evaluation of the φ-integral, whereas the &thetas;-integral is carried out numerically. Computational results from UTD and PO (physical optics) analysis of a 34-m ground station dual-shaped reflector confirm the analytical formulations for both circularly symmetric and offset asymmetric subreflectors. It is concluded that the proposed PO&thetas;GOφ technique can be used to study the spillover or noise temperature characteristics of a high-grain reflector antenna efficiently and accurately  相似文献

This letter reports on 1.5-V single work-function W/WN/n/sup +/-poly gate CMOS transistors for high-performance stand-alone dynamic random access memory (DRAM) and low-cost low-leakage embedded DRAM applications. At V/sub dd/ Of 1.5-V and 25/spl deg/C, drive currents of 634 /spl mu/A//spl mu/m for 90-nm L/sub gate/ NMOS and 208 /spl mu/A-/spl mu/m for 110-nm L/sub gate/ buried-channel PMOS are achieved at 25 pA//spl mu/m off-state leakage. Device performance of this single work function technology is comparable to published low leakage 1.5-V dual work-function technologies and 25% better than previously reported 1.8-V single work-function technology. Data illustrating hot-carrier immunity of these devices under high electric fields is also presented. Scalability of single work-function CMOS device design for the 90-nm DRAM generation is demonstrated.  相似文献

This paper presents optimization procedures based on evolutionary algorithms such as the elitist non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) and differential evolution (DE) for solving the trajectory planning problem of intelligent robot manipulators with the prevalence of fixed, moving, and oscillating obstacles. The aim is the minimization of a combined objective function, with the constraints being actuator constraints, joint limits, and the obstacle avoidance constraint by considering dynamic equations of motion. Trajectories are defined by B-spline functions. This is a non-linear constrained optimization problem with six objective functions, 31 constraints, and 42 variables. The combined objective function is a weighted balance of transfer time, the mean average of actuator efforts and power, penalty for collision-free motion, singularity avoidance, joint jerks, and joint accelerations. The obstacles are present in the workspace of the robot. The distance between potentially colliding parts is expressed as obstacle avoidance. Further, the motion is represented using translational and rotational matrices. The proposed optimization techniques are explained by applying them to an industrial robot (PUMA 560 robot). Also, the results obtained from NSGA-II and DE are compared and analyzed. This is the first research work which considers all the decision criteria for the trajectory planning of industrial robots with obstacle avoidance. A comprehensive user-friendly general-purpose software package has been developed using VC++ to obtain the optimal solutions using the proposed DE algorithm.  相似文献

In day today's applications, it is obligatory to devise the usage of diesel in an economic and environmentally benign way. The present work was aimed at studying the performance, emission and combustion characteristics of a four-stroke diesel engine by adding n-pentane at different proportions such as 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% and 10% by volume with diesel. The performance, combustion and emission characteristics obtained from the experiment revealed that the addition of n-pentane augments the brake thermal efficiency of the engine. At full load, the brake thermal efficiency increased by 3.17% for an addition of 6% n-pentane, 4.31% for an addition of 8% n-pentane and 6.36% for an addition of 10% n-pentane. From the emission test, it was concluded that at full load, the NOx emission decreased by 8.67% for an addition of 6% n-pentane, 17.43% for an addition of 8% n-pentane and 18.09% for an addition of 10% n-pentane.  相似文献

Concurrent designing of tolerance has become a vital concern in product and process development due to the relationship between quality, functionality and product cost. It is one of the well explored areas in combinatorial optimization. In this paper, a recently developed optimization algorithm, called Bat algorithm (BA), is used for optimizing the tolerance based on concurrent objectives to minimize the manufacturing cost, present worth of expected quality loss and quality loss. The mechanical assemblies such as Bevel gear assembly (A), Gear box assembly (B) and Suction union assembly (C) are considered to demonstrate the proposed algorithm. It is found that the BA has produced better results than other methods in initial generations for concurrent tolerance problems.  相似文献

Liquid crystalline thermosets were synthesized based on a difunctional liquid–crystal (LC) epoxy resin monomer, namely 2,5-bis(4-glycidyloxyphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole with various tetrafunctional crosslinkers such as diaminodiphenyl methane, diaminodiphenyl sulfone, and diaminodiphenyl ether. The epoxy monomer was characterized by infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Cure kinetics of a stoichiometric mixture of epoxy monomer and diaminodiphenyl methane was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) for specimens cured under various cure conditions. The nematic LC texture for the cured specimen was identified by polarized microscopy and confirmed by X-ray diffractometry. Phase diagram of cure time versus transition temperature was constructed based on the DSC data for epoxy/DDM system. The diagram displayed the changes of melting transition, isotropic transition, and glass transition temperatures as curing proceeds.  相似文献

0 0 1 directed potassium dihydrogen orthophosphate (KDP) single crystal was grown by Sankaranarayanan–Ramasamy (SR) method. The 0 0 1 oriented seed crystals were mounted at the bottom of the platform and the size of the crystals were 10 mm diameter, 110 mm height. Two different growths were tried, in one the crystal diameter was the ampoule's inner diameter and in the other the crystal thickness was less than the ampoule diameter. In the first case only the top four pyramidal faces were existing whereas in the second case the top four pyramidal faces and four prismatic faces were existing through out the growth. The crystals were grown using same stoichiometric solution. The results of the two growths are discussed in this paper. The grown crystals were characterized by high-resolution X-ray diffractometry (HRXRD), laser damage threshold, dielectric, thermal analysis, UV–vis spectroscopy and microhardness studies. The HRXRD analysis indicates that the crystalline perfection is excellent without having any very low angle internal structural grain boundaries. Laser damage threshold value has been determined using Nd:glass laser operating at 1054 nm. The damage threshold for the KDP crystal is greater than 4.55 GW cm−2. The dielectric constant was higher and the dielectric loss was less in SR method grown crystal as against conventional method grown crystal. In thermal analysis, the starting of decomposition nature is similar in SR method grown KDP crystal and conventional method grown crystal. The SR method grown KDP has higher transmittance and higher hardness value compared to conventional method grown crystals.  相似文献

Bacteriophages have been successfully applied to control the growth of pathogens in foods and to reduce the colonization and shedding of pathogens by food animals. They are set to play a dominant role in food safety in the future. However, many food-processing operations and the microenvironments in food animals' guts inactivate phages and reduce their infectivity. Encapsulation technologies have been used successfully to protect phages against extreme environments, and have been shown to preserve their activity and enable their release in targeted environments. A number of encapsulation technologies have shown potential for use with bacteriophages. This review discusses the current state of knowledge about the use of encapsulation technologies with bacteriophages to control pathogens in foods and food animals.  相似文献

In the proposed work analytical modeling of single halo triple material surrounding gate (SH-TMSG) MOSFET is developed. The threshold voltage and subthreshold current has been derived using parabolic approximation method and the simulation results are analyzed. The threshold voltage roll off is reduced and it denotes the deterioration of short channel effects. The results of the analytical model are delineated and compared with MEDICI simulation results and it is well corroborated.  相似文献

The application of the theory of the synthesis of offset dual-shaped reflectors to the design of compact ranges is examined. The object of the compact range is to provide a uniform plane wave with minimum amplitude and phase ripple over as large a volume as possible for a given size reflector. Ripple can be lowered by reducing the edge diffraction from the reflector producing the plane wave. This has been done either by serrating or rolling the edge. An alternative approach is to use dual offset-shaped reflector synthesis techniques to produce a reflector aperture distribution that is uniform over most of the aperture, but with a Gaussian taper near the edge. This approach can be used together with rolling and/or serration if desirable. The amount of phase and amplitude ripple obtained with two different dual-shaped reflector designs is studied as a function of position in the plane wave zone and reflector size in wavelengths.
