A dielectric rod enveloped in gaseous plasma can act as a supporting structure for electromagnetic surface waves. The dielectric constant of the plasma and hence the electron number density in the vicinity of the rod may be determined from measurements of the phase-change coefficient of the EH11 mode supported by the plasma-clad rod. Measurements of radial density distribution have been carried out in an unmagnetised argon afterglow plasma at 35Gc/s and compared with double-probe measurements.  相似文献

In a selection of strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and S. carisbergensis, no serological differences were noted between fining and non-fining strains of the same species. Fining and flocculent properties of selected strains were modified by cultivation on various media, but there was no corresponding difference in antigenic structure. An examination of fining and non-fining yeasts of other genera and species showed that there was no common antigen which could be associated with fining properties. It is concluded that although the action of finings shows certain resemblances to the antigen-antibody reaction, fining properties cannot be correlated with antigenic structure.  相似文献

Satellite and avionics applications represent an ideal application for the tremendous performance, cost, space, andreliability benefits of MCMs. These advantages are only realized,however, if accompanied by an efficient test strategy whichverifies defect-free fabrication. This paper describes a methodology developed to test high performance VLSI CMOS ICs thathave been mounted onto a multi-chip silicon substrate. A teststrategy, which addresses testing from the wafer level through tothe populated substrate, is detailed. This strategy uses acombination of LSSD, AC LSSD-On-Chip Self Test, Deterministic Delay Fault Testing, and Design for Partitionability to ensure high testquality at a reasonable cost. Ornithodoros (Alectorobius) amblus Chamberlin 1920 specimens were collected from a seagull (Larus spp.) nest in northern Chile. This reports the occurrence of this species outside Peru. The biology of 79 specimens reared under laboratory conditions at 27 degrees C, 75-80% RH, and total darkness was determined. A 13% mortality rate from larval to adult was observed. Larval ticks were fed on chicks, Gallus gallus domesticus; and nymphs and adults were fed on chickens. We recorded the number of eggs per female per gonotrophic cycle and the mean duration of the periods of preoviposition, oviposition, and incubation. The total duration of their life cycle ranged from 111 to 239 d, depending on the number of molts. Males were found after the 4th molt, and after the 5th molt the proportion of females was greater than that of males or remaining nymphs. The feeding period of larvae was 4-6 d, N1 nymphs do not feed. The N2-N6 nymphs, males and females, had a 10- to 60-min feeding period. From N2 on, there was emission of coxal fluid while on the host and during or immediately after feeding.  相似文献

Presently, a suitable theory to predict the Tg vs. composition relationship for a given polymer-plasticizer blend, based on detailed molecular structure and molecular energitics considerations, is not available. In particular, the plasticizer efficiency parameter, k, which is uniquely defined at low-to-moderate diluent concentrations, and is an essential variable in the Mauritz-Storey theory of the diffusion of large molecules in amorphous polymers in the rubbery state, must always be determined by experiment. In this work, k was determined by DSC for PVC that was plasticized over a range of concentrations with a number of higher branched and linear di-alkyl phthalates. The results will be used in our plasticizer diffusion theory as well as provide guidance in the future development of a general mathematical model for predicting k. It was seen that k decreased with increasing molecular weight for both the linear and branched phthalates. For a given molecular weight, the branched phthalates have higher k values than the linear structures. These results have been rationalized in terms of the additional free volume created by the inefficiency of packing polymer chains about these large penetrant molecules. The DSC scans also implied an increasing degree of microstructural heterogeneity with increasing plasticizer concentration. Finally, relationships between plasticizer diffusion coefficient in the rubbery state and the plasticized Tg were established for low-to-moderate diluent concentration for three of the plasticizers studied by utilizing experimental diffusion data from our earlier work on these systems.  相似文献

In this paper, devices to devices communications underlaying cellular network techniques are proposed as an alternative to maximize spectral efficiency. This gain is obtained by the reuse of spectrum when different links are simultaneously established using the same resources. The cost of this technique is additional interference in cellular networks. The techniques presented in this paper propose a coordinated power control mechanism to allow resource sharing with low impact on cellular subscribers. Solutions are addressed for both OFDMA and WCDMA networks taking into account the unique requirements of both networks. In both situations, WCDMA–OFDMA coexistence is exploited and analyzed, using the nature of WCDMA spectrum and its robustness against narrowband interference thereby improving the probability of obtaining the sharing of cellular resources. For OFDM networks, WCDMA is used for mitigating the interference of cellular users and to obtain considerable gain in probability of reuse. For WCDMA networks, OFDMA is used to obtain higher throughput using the side frequencies of the spectrum where the cellular signal power is lower compared to the central frequencies.  相似文献
