For the explosive compaction of Al 2024 alloy powder the influence of E/M ratio and detonation velocity of the explosive as well as the influences of powder microhardness and initial density are discussed. With a choice of parameters that gives a fully compacted aluminium sample the results of embedding single SiC fibers are described and a procedure to avoid fiber cracking due to shock loads is derived. Solutions of hydroxyethyl starch are used as a blood plasma substitute. If their physiological efficiency is to be optimized, they need to be accurately characterized in terms of their molecular weight and its distribution. The absolute determination of molecular weight and molecular weight distribution by means of light scattering require a knowledge of the refractive index increment. Although numerous investigations of the refractive index increment of hydroxyethyl starch have already been published, the results vary significantly due to the use of different samples and the choice of different measuring parameters. There was therefore an urgent need to examine the extent to which the refractive index increment depends on molecular parameters, the experimental method used and the type of processing. Here it was found that different sample preparations result in different contents of solid matter, so that an exact determination of the quantity is required. Hydroxyethyl starches in the molecular weight range of about Mw = 200.000 g/mol and varying degrees of substitution between DS 0.38 and 0.50 which are regarded as optimal for clinical use give a refractive index increment of dn/dc633nm = 0.146 = 0.005 cm3/g (solvent: H2O/0.02% NaN3; T = 25°C). 相似文献
119Sn-NMR Spectroscopic Investigations of Tributyltin Derivatives of Aromatic Sulfonic Acids . Tributyltin derivatives of nine aromatic sulfonic acids were synthesized and investigated by means of 119Sn-n.m.r. spectroscopy. 119Sn-chemical shifts and 1J (Sn, C) coupling constants in dependence on temperature and concentration were applied to study the association processes of the substances in solution. In CDCl3 as a solvent a monomeric/polymeric equilibrium of the substances was demonstrated, while CD3OD as a donor solvent forms five-coordinated complexes with the tin compounds. 相似文献
(R)-6-Ethyl-2-methyl-2,3-dihydro-4H-pyran-4-one, (1R,3S,5R)-3-ethyl-1,8-dimethyl-2,9-dioxabicyclo[3.3. 1]non-7-ene, and (1R,3S,5R)-3-ethyl-1,8-dimethyl-2,9-dioxabicyclo[3.3.1]non-7-en-6-one represent the main components in the male pheromone of the swift moth,Hepialus hecta. The amounts of the three components were 40, 5, and 5 g per male, respectively. Structure elucidation of the compounds was based on spectroscopic data as compared to synthetic reference samples. The absolute configurations were determined by gas chromatography on chiral stationary phases; optically active samples served as reference compounds. Electrophysiological and behavioral experiments with natural material and synthetic samples clearly showed the three heterocyclic compounds to act as pheromones. The aim of the present study was to investigate the influence of partially hydrogenated vegetable and marine oils on membrane
composition and function of liver microsomes and platelets with particular reference to the metabolism of linoleic acid and
the production of arachidonic acid metabolites. Four groups of male weanling rats were fed linoleic acid supplemented diets
containing 20% (w/w) of partially hydrogenated low erucic acid rapeseed oil (HLRSO), partially hydrogenated herring oil (HHO),
olive oil (OO) and trierucin + triolein (TE) for 10 weeks. An additional two groups were fed partially hydrogenated low erucic
acid rapeseed oil and partially hydrogenated herring oil without linoleic acid supplementation (HLRSO- and HHO-, respectively).
Substantial amounts oftrans fatty acids were incorporated into liver microsomes (12.6% in group HLRSO) and platelets (7.0% in group HLRSO-). This incorporation
was not dependent on the dietary linoleic acid level. Hepatic microsomal Δ5-desaturase activity was significantly increased after HLRSO feeding compared to OO feeding. Δ6-Desaturase activity did not vary in the linoleic acid supplemented groups. Both Δ5- and Δ6-desaturase activities were significantly increased in groups without linoleic acid supplementation.
Docosenoic acid was incorporated into platelet phospholipids in contrast to liver microsomes. In the platelet, docosenoic
acid seemed to have a special preference for phosphatidylserine. Very small amounts were incorporated into platelet phosphatidylinositol.
Feeding diets HLRSO, HHO and OO did not influence rat platelet cyclooxygenase or 12-lipoxygenase activity. Platelets from
rats fed TE, however, produced significantly less 12-hydroxy-5,8,10,14-eicosatetraenoic acid (12-HETE) than platelets from
rats fed OO. Feeding of HLRSO- and HHO- resulted in a significantly diminished production of the arachidonic acid metabolites
12-HETE, 12-hydroxy-5,8,10-heptadecatrienoic acid (HHT) and 6-keto-prostaglandin F1α in stimulated platelets and aorta. Thus, high dietary levels oftrans isomers of monoenoic acids do not interfere with platelet cyclooxygenase or lipoxygenase activity provided sufficient amounts

Euglena gracilis is a photosynthetic flagellate. To acquire a suitable position in its surrounding aquatic environment, it exploits light and gravity primarily as environmental cues. Several physiological studies have indicated a fine-tuned relationship between gravity sensing (gravitaxis) and light sensing in E. gracilis. However, the underlying molecular mechanism is largely unknown. The photoreceptor photoactivated adenylyl cyclase (PAC) has been studied for over a decade. Nevertheless, no direct/indirect interaction partner (upstream/downstream) has been reported for PAC. It has been shown that a specific protein, kinase A (PKA), showed to be involved in phototaxis and gravitaxis. Sonar emits pulses of sound and uses the reflected echoes to gain information about target objects. It offers a low cost, complementary sensing modality for small robotic platforms. Although existing analytical approaches often assume independence across echoes, real sonar data can have more complicated structures due to device setup or experimental design. In this article, we consider sonar echo data collected from multiple terrain substrates with a dual-channel sonar head. Our goals are to identify the differential sonar responses to terrains and study the effectiveness of this dual-channel design in discriminating targets. We describe a unified analytical framework that achieves these goals rigorously, simultaneously, and automatically. The analysis was done by treating the echo envelope signals as functional responses and the terrain/channel information as covariates in a functional regression setting. We adopt functional mixed models that facilitate the estimation of terrain and channel effects while capturing the complex hierarchical structure in data. This unified analytical framework incorporates both Gaussian models and robust models. We fit the models using a full Bayesian approach, which enables us to perform multiple inferential tasks under the same modeling framework, including selecting models, estimating the effects of interest, identifying significant local regions, discriminating terrain types, and describing the discriminatory power of local regions. Our analysis of the sonar-terrain data identifies time regions that reflect differential sonar responses to terrains. The discriminant analysis suggests that a multi- or dual-channel design achieves target identification performance comparable with or better than a single-channel design. Recovering a 3D human-pose in the form of an abstracted skeleton from a 2D image suffers from loss of depth information. Assuming the projected human-pose is represented by a set of 2D landmarks capturing the human-pose limbs, recovering back the original 3D locations is an ill posed problem. To recover a 3D configuration, camera localization in 3D space plays a major role, an inaccurate camera localization might mislead the recovery process. In this paper, we propose a 3D camera localization model using only human-pose appearance in a 2D image (i.e., the set of 2D landmarks). We apply a supervised multi-class logistic regression to assign the camera location in 3D space. In the learning process, we assume a set of predefined labeled camera locations. The features we train consist of relative length of limbs and 2D shape context. The goal is to build a relation between these projected landmarks and the camera location in 3D space. This kind of analysis allows us to reconstruct 3D human-poses based on the 2D projection only without any predefined camera parameters. Also, makes real-time multimedia exchange more reliable specially for human-pose related tasks. We test our model on a set of real images showing a variety of camera locations.
The reversible oxidation of methionine residues in proteins has emerged as a biologically important post-translational modification. However, detection and quantitation of methionine sulfoxide in proteins is difficult. Our aim is to develop a method for specifically derivatizing methionine sulfoxide residues. We report a Pummerer rearrangement of methionine sulfoxide treated sequentially with trimethylsilyl chloride and then 2-mercaptoimidazole or pyridine-2-thiol to produce a dithioacetal product. This derivative is stable to standard mass spectrometry conditions, and its formation identified oxidized methionine residues. The scope and requirements of dithioacetal formation are reported for methionine sulfoxide and model substrates. The reaction intermediates have been investigated by computational techniques and by 13C NMR spectroscopy. These provide evidence for an α-chlorinated intermediate. The derivatization allows for detection and quantitation of methionine sulfoxide in proteins by mass spectrometry and potentially by immunochemical methods. 相似文献
