The present study is a preliminary exploration of the affinity between a carboxylic model drug, the nonsteroidal antiinflammatory agent ibuprofen (IBU) and Eudragit RL100 (RL) polymer. Due to the presence of a variable amount of quaternary ammonium groups in this matrix, physical and chemical interaction with the carboxylic drug can occur, which reinforces its scant mechanical dispersion in the polymer network and can ultimately affect its release profile in vitro and in vivo. To study these aspects, IBU was mixed at increasing weight ratios and in different chemical forms (free acid, sodium salt, and n-butyl ester), to investigate further the role of the carboxylic group in the interaction with the RL polymer. Therefore, IBU-RL solid dispersions (coevaporates) were obtained and fully characterized in the solid state through spectroscopic, calorimetric, and x-ray diffractometric analyses. The in vitro release pattern of the drug, in the different chemical states, was studied for the coevaporates, compared with drug-RL physical mixtures, along with drug adsorption profiles from aqueous solutions on the surface of the polymer granules. 相似文献

A fundamental problem in large scale wireless networks is the energy efficient broadcast of source messages to the whole network. The energy consumption increases as the network size grows, and the optimization of broadcast efficiency becomes more important. In this paper, we study the optimal power allocation problem for cooperative broadcast in dense large-scale networks. In the considered cooperation protocol, a single source initiates the transmission and the rest of the nodes retransmit the source message if they have decoded it reliably. Each node is allocated an-orthogonal channel and the nodes improve their receive signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), hence the energy efficiency, by maximal-ratio combining the receptions of the same packet from different transmitters. We assume that the decoding of the source message is correct as long as the receive SNR exceeds a predetermined threshold. Under the optimal cooperative broadcasting, the transmission order (i.e., the schedule) and the transmission powers of the source and the relays are designed so that every node receives the source message reliably and the total power consumption is minimized. In general, finding the best scheduling in cooperative broadcast is known to be an NP-complete problem. In this paper, we show that the optimal scheduling problem can be solved for dense networks, which we approximate as a continuum of nodes. Under the continuum model, we derive the optimal scheduling and the optimal power density. We report the observation of an apparent metallic state induced by a parallel magnetic field in Au0.7In0.3 samples with very low normal-state sheet resistance. These samples can be modeled as a random array of superconductor-normal
metal-superconductor (SNS) junctions. For both the thin planar and cylindrical films, the magnetic field was applied parallel
to the substrate of the sample and measurement currents. For the mesoscopic rings, however, a perpendicular field was used.
Our electrical transport and tunneling measurements suggest that the samples consist of superconducting In-rich islands not
linked by Josephson coupling in the metallic state. The physical origin of the metallic state is discussed.

Polymerase chain reaction amplification of a conserved region of the -actin gene has been used for the specific identification of goose (Anser anser) and mule duck (Anas platyrhynchos×Cairina moschata) foie gras. Universal primers were used for the amplification of a DNA fragment containing three introns and four exons of the -actin gene in goose and mule duck. Sequence analysis of the amplified fragments was necessary for the design of forward species-specific primers in the goose and mule duck -actin genes. The use of species-specific forward primers, together with a reverse universal primer, produced amplicons of different length, allowing clear identification of goose and mule duck foie gras samples. Analysis of experimental mixtures demonstrated that 1% of duck can be easily detected in goose foie gras using the PCR method developed here. This genetic marker can be very useful for the accurate identification of these two species in foie gras products. 相似文献

To provide formal foundations to current (web) services technologies, we put forward using COWS, a process calculus for specifying, combining and analysing services, as a uniform formalism for modelling all the relevant phases of the life cycle of service-oriented applications, such as publication, discovery, negotiation, deployment and execution. In this paper, we show that constraints and operations on them can be smoothly incorporated in COWS, and propose a disciplined way to model multisets of constraints and to manipulate them through appropriate interaction protocols. Therefore, we demonstrate that also QoS requirement specifications and SLA achievements, and the phases of dynamic service discovery and negotiation can be comfortably modelled in COWS. The effect of irradiation (0, 5 and 10 kGy) on the oxidative and colour stability of vacuum-packed Iberian dry-cured loin slices from pigs fed on concentrate feed (CON) or free-range reared (FRG) stored under refrigerated storage was studied. Irradiation treatment increased lipid oxidation, measured as TBA-RS values and hexanal content of dry-cured loins. It also increased redness (CIE a) and lightness (CIE L) of dry-cured loins. Refrigerated storage reduced the differences due to irradiation treatment of instrumental colour values like lightness. However, the decrease of redness during storage was more marked in irradiated than in non-irradiated dry-cured loin. Storage increased differences in TBA-RS values between irradiated and non-irradiated FRG dry-cured loin, while the opposite trend was found for CON dry-cured loins. In addition, no differences in the hexanal content were found after 30 days of refrigerated storage. Therefore, the storage of Iberian dry-cured loin in absence of oxygen by using a vacuum packaging could be an adequate method to reduce changes associated to irradiation treatment in Iberian dry-cured loin.
Industrial relevance
Iberian dry-cured loin is a high sensory quality meat product with increasing projection in external markets Irradiation has shown to be an effective method to control pathogen and spoilage microorganisms in meat and meat products. However, e-beam irradiation can promote colour and oxidation changes that could modify their sensory characteristics. The study aimed the evaluation of e-beam irradiation at two levels (5 and 10 kGy) — higher doses than those that could be necessary to control pathogen microorganisms in this kind of product — on colour changes and lipid oxidation at vacuum-packed slices of Iberian dry-cured loin during subsequent extended chilled storage. E-beam treatment induced changes in colour and lipid oxidation in sliced Iberian dry-cured loin immediately after treatment and subsequent refrigerated storage. 相似文献59.
Polythene films coated with the enterococcal bacteriocin enterocin EJ97 alone or in combination with EDTA were tested against Bacillus coagulans CECT 12. Bacteriocin activity was clearly enhanced by EDTA, as shown by viable staining and epifluorescence microscopy observation of treated cells. Activated films were tested in liquids from canned corn and canned peas inoculated with B. coagulans cell suspensions and stored at 4 °C and 20 °C for 24 h. The bacteriocin alone showed highest activity in samples stored at 4 °C, while the maximum performance of EDTA was observed at 20 °C. Films activated with a combination of both antimicrobials showed highest bactericidal activity at 4 °C. In liquid from canned corn and peas stored at 4 °C, the combined treatment reduced the concentrations of viable cells progressively over incubation time. Viable staining revealed an increase in the percentage of dead cells at 20 °C, avoiding proliferation of the bacilli. The bactericidal effect of the combined antimicrobial agents was higher in the liquid of canned peas than that of canned corn. The combined use of viable staining and classical viable cell counts allowed a better estimation of cell damage caused by the antimicrobial treatments. 相似文献

The purpose of this new study was to determine the types and levels of major phytochemicals (non-nutrients) and nutrients in the different tissues from vegetative and flowering Moringa oleifera L. an important multipurpose crop. Rhamnose and acetyl-rhamnose-substituted glucosinolates were found in all of the M. oleifera tissues with different profiles depending on the tissue. In addition the tissues of M. oleifera had a relatively complex flavonoid profile consisting of glucosides, rutinosides, malonylglucosides and traces of acetylglucosides of kaempferol, quercetin and isorhamnetin. Fatty acid profiling of the different tissues showed that leaves were rich in palmitic (16:0) and linolenic (18:3) acid whereas seeds were predominated by oleic acid (18:1). Roots were rich in palmitic and oleic acid, whereas stems and twigs predominately contained palmitic acid. Potassium, magnesium and calcium were the predominant minerals in all of the tissues.
