Polycaprolactone (PCL) was reinforced with natural fibres as they not only permit a substantial reduction of the material costs, but also play a role as reinforcement in mechanical properties. This work was focused on the estimation of mechanical and thermal behaviour based on PCL and Pine Cone particles (PCP) filler at different weight percentages (0, 5, 10, 15, 30 and 45 wt%). Tests results indicated considerable improvement in mechanical properties, corresponding to a gain in impact strength and % elongation of 6 and 9.2% at 15 wt% particle loading, respectively. Some decrease in thermal stability was observed for composites with increasing filler content where as composite at 15% PCP was not significantly affected. Lower melting and crystallization enthalpies and higher crystallinity values were obtained for bio-composites compared with neat PCL. Some decrease in thermal stability and increase in oxygen and water vapour barrier properties were also observed for composites with increasing filler content. 相似文献

Development of self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery systems (SNEDDS) of glimepiride is reported with the aim to achieve its oral delivery. Lauroglycol FCC, Tween-80, and ethanol were used as oil, surfactant, and co-surfactant, respectively as independent variables. The optimized composition of SNEDDS formulation (F1) was 10% v/v Lauroglycol FCC, 45% v/v Tween 80, 45% v/v ethanol, and 0.005% w/v glimepiride. Further, the optimized liquid SNEDDS were solidified through spray drying using various hydrophilic and hydrophobic carriers. Among the various carriers, Aerosil 200 was found to provide desirable flow, compression, dissolution, and diffusion. Both, liquid and solid-SNEDDS have shown release of more than 90% within 10?min. Results of permeation studies performed on Caco-2 cell showed that optimized SNEDDS exhibited 1.54 times higher drug permeation amount and 0.57 times lower drug excretion amount than that of market tablets at 4?hours (p?.01). Further, the cytotoxicity study performed on Caco-2 cell revealed that the cell viability was lower in SNEDDS (92.22%?±?4.18%) compared with the market tablets (95.54%?±?3.22%; p?>?.05, i.e. 0.74). The formulation was found stable with temperature variation and freeze thaw cycles in terms of droplet size, zeta potential, drug precipitation and phase separation. Crystalline glimepiride was observed in amorphous state in solid SNEDDS when characterized through DSC, PXRD, and FT-IR studies. Load-carrying capacity of weld joints could be identified by its shape and size where weld bead geometry and shape relationship parameters are of utmost importance. Heat input and preheating temperature together can control the cooling time of weld, which in turn determines the weld microstructure and its mechanical properties. To control the shape and geometry of weld bead, it is necessary to understand its relationship with cooling time. In present work, preheating temperature is used as process variable along with heat input varying parameters for understanding their effects on weld bead geometry and shape relationship parameters using submerged arc welding process on high-strength low alloy pipeline steel. The experimental investigation was then analyzed by using the mathematical modeling in context with response surface methodology. The mathematical model predicts the influential dependency of cooling time on the preheating temperature than the other weld process parameters. The associated effects in relation to the process parameters have been discussed and analyzed in the present study. 相似文献

In this article, a three‐port nonplanar multiple‐input‐multiple‐output/diversity antenna with very high isolation between the radiating elements is presented. To realize diversity from the proposed three‐dimensional (3‐D) antenna configuration, three monopole radiating elements are arranged at an angle of 120°. The isolation between the radiators is enhanced by using a multilayered cylindrical decoupling structure and defected ground structure (DGS). The DGS reduces the coupling due to surface waves while the cylindrical decoupling structure reduces the coupling due to space waves. The proposed antenna offers consistent pervasive connectivity in the wireless communication environment due to its 3‐D geometry with multiple radiating elements and good diversity performance. The prototype is fabricated and measured result shows that more than 42 dB isolation is obtained at the center frequency 1.45 GHz. An increment of 1.2 dBi in the antenna gain is also achieved by using DGS and decoupling structure arrangement. The proposed antenna can be easily placed inside the cylindrical housing or it can be integrated with the existing electronics chip, thus nullifying the requirement for dedicated location in the system. 相似文献

The explosive growth of smart devices has led to the evolution of multimedia data (mainly video) services in mobile networks. It attracted many mobile network operators (MNO) to deploy novel network architectures and develop effective economic policies. Mobile data offloading through smart devices (SDs) by exploring device-to-device (D2D) communications can significantly reduce network congestion and enhance quality of service at a lower cost, which is the key requirement of upcoming 5G networks. This reasonable cost solution is useful for attracting mobile users to participate in the offloading process by paying them proper incentives. It is beneficial for MNOs as well as mobile users. Moreover, D2D communications promise to be one of the prominent services for 5G networks. In this paper, we present a combinatorial optimal reverse auction (CORA) mechanism, which efficiently selects and utilizes available high-end SDs on the basis of available resources for offloading purposes. It also decides the optimal pricing policy for the selected SDs. The efficiency of CORA has been realized in terms of bandwidth and storage demand. Subsequently, we implement caching in SDs, eNodeB (eNB), and evolved packet core (EPC) with the help of our novel video dissemination cache update algorithm to solve the latency or delay issues in the offloading process. Due to high popularity, we specifically focus on video data. Simulation results show that the proposed SD caching scenario curtails the delay up to 75% and the combined cache (CC) scenario slashes the delay varying from 15 to 57%. An electrically switchable graphene terahertz (THz) modulator with a tunable-by-design optical bandwidth is presented and it is exploited to compensate the cavity dispersion of a quantum cascade laser (QCL). Electrostatic gating is achieved by a metal grating used as a gate electrode, with an HfO2/AlOx gate dielectric on top. This is patterned on a polyimide layer, which acts as a quarter wave resonance cavity, coupled with an Au reflector underneath. The authors achieve 90% modulation depth of the intensity, combined with a 20 kHz electrical bandwidth in the 1.9–2.7 THz range. The modulator is then integrated with a multimode THz QCL. By adjusting the modulator operational bandwidth, the authors demonstrate that the graphene modulator can partially compensate the QCL cavity dispersion, resulting in an integrated laser behaving as a stable frequency comb over 35% of the operational range, with 98 equidistant optical modes and a spectral coverage ~1.2 THz. This paves the way for applications in the terahertz, such as tunable transformation-optics devices, active photonic components, adaptive and quantum optics, and metrological tools for spectroscopy at THz frequencies. 相似文献

MXenes exhibit excellent capacitance at high scan rates in sulfuric acid aqueous electrolytes, but the narrow potential window of aqueous electrolytes limits the energy density. Organic electrolytes and room-temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) can provide higher potential windows, leading to higher energy density. The large cation size of RTIL hinders its intercalation in-between the layers of MXene limiting the specific capacitance in comparison to aqueous electrolytes. In this work, different chain lengths alkylammonium (AA) cations are intercalated into Ti3C2Tx, producing variation of MXene interlayer spacings (d-spacing). AA-cation-intercalated Ti3C2Tx (AA-Ti3C2), exhibits higher specific capacitances, and cycling stabilities than pristine Ti3C2Tx in 1 m 1-ethly-3-methylimidazolium bis-(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)-imide (EMIMTFSI) in acetonitrile and neat EMIMTFSI RTIL electrolytes. Pre-intercalated MXene with an interlayer spacing of ≈2.2 nm, can deliver a large specific capacitance of 257 F g−1 (1428 mF cm−2 and 492 F cm−3) in neat EMIMTFSI electrolyte leading to high energy density. Quasi elastic neutron scattering and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy are used to study the dynamics of confined RTIL in pre-intercalated MXene. Molecular dynamics simulations suggest significant differences in the structures of RTIL ions and AA cations inside the Ti3C2Tx interlayer, providing insights into the differences in the observed electrochemical behavior. 相似文献
