In an effort to improve energy-efficient windows, we experimented with a precursor slurry composite by using needle-like TiO2 particles as the filler in a urethane matrix. Applying dc bias to the slurry failed to array the needle-like particles in the composite and to deposit on the film surface because of electrophoretic movement. However, applying ac bias of ±5 V to the precursor slurry composite for 12 h resulted in the needle-like TiO2 particles being arrayed in the composite in a direction normal to the film surface. This resulted in an improvement in the energy efficiency of the material through an angular dependence of transmittance in the visible–near-infrared range.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Sentinel lymph node (SLN) mapping by lymphoscintigraphy has changed the surgical management of regional lymph node metastases for melanoma. SLNs lying outside of traditional nodal basins are now being identified. Our hypothesis is that when preoperative lymphoscintigraphy identifies aberrant SLNs, these nodes should be excised and, if histologically positive, lymphadenectomy of the aberrant nodal basin should be performed. METHODS: Patients with melanomas 1 mm or larger Breslow thickness and clinical stage N0M0 underwent lymphoscintigraphy and excision with SLN biopsy. Preoperative lymphoscintigraphy, intraoperative gamma probe, and intraoperative injection of isosulfan blue were performed to identify the SLN. Aberrant SLNs were defined as epitrochlear, supraclavicular, or popliteal nodes for extremity lesions and intramuscular nodes for truncal and head and neck lesions. RESULTS: Thirty-two patients were entered into the protocol. Seven (22%) were found to have aberrant nodes. Five of 19 patients with extremity melanoma had an aberrant SLN; 2 of 13 patients with truncal and head and neck melanoma had an aberrant SLN. CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrates that (1) aberrant SLNs are encountered with similar frequency for extremity and truncal lesions, (2) biopsy should be performed on aberrant SLNs with intraoperative lymph node mapping with the gamma probe and blue dye, and (3) lymphadenectomy of the aberrant region should be considered if the aberrant SLN is positive.  相似文献

CRK is a human homolog of chichen v-Crk, which is an adaptor protein. The SH2 domain of CRK binds to several tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins, including the epidermal growth factor receptor, p130(Cas), Shc, and paxillin. The SH3 domain, in turn, binds to cytosolic proteins of 135-145, 160, 180, and 220 kDa. We screened expression libraries by Far Western blotting, using CRK SH3 as a probe, and identified partial cDNA sequences of four distinct proteins, including C3G, DOCK180, EPS15, and clone ST12. The consensus sequence of the CRK SH3 binding sites as deduced from their amino acid sequences was Pro+3-Pro+2-X+1-Leu0-Pro-1-X-2-Lys-3. The interaction of the CRK SH3 domain with the DOCK180 peptide was examined with an optical biosensor, based on the principles of surface plasmon resonance. A low dissociation constant of the order of 10(-7) resulted from a high association rate constant (kassoc = 3 x 10(4)) and low dissociation rate constant (kdiss = 3 x 10(-3)). All CRK-binding proteins except clone ST12 also bound to another adaptor protein, Grb2. Mutational analysis revealed that glycine at position +1 of ST12 inhibited the binding to Grb2 while retaining the high affinity binding to CRK SH3. The result suggests that the amino acid at position +1 also contributes to the high affinity binding of the peptides to the SH3 domain of Grb2, but not to that of CRK.  相似文献

A novel photoreactive polymer containing sulfobetaine polar groups was prepared by copolymerization of two kinds of methacrylic acids with sulfobetaine and azidoaniline. The polymer was photoimmobilized on polyester and polystyrene surfaces. Its effects on surface modification were investigated from its interactions with water, proteins and cells. Polymer immobilization altered both of the plain surfaces to becoming hydrophilic in a similar range of static contact angles (12.5 ± 1.6° on polyester and 14.7 ± 2.2° on polystyrene). This suggests that the surfaces were covered with sulfobetaine polar groups. Micropattern immobilization was carried out on both polymers using a photomask. The formed pattern was identical to the photomask, showing that the polymer was formed in response to ultraviolet irradiation. Measurements using atomic force microscopy showed that the polymer was formed at a thickness of 550 nm, demonstrating that the polymer was cross-linked with itself and with the substrate molecules. Measurements using time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry detected an abundance of sulfur-containing ions in the patterned polymer, confirming that sulfobetaine had been immobilized. Protein adsorption and mammalian cell adhesiveness were reduced markedly on the immobilized regions. The reduction of cell adhesiveness was concentration-dependent for the immobilized polymer on polyester surfaces. In conclusion, a novel sulfobetaine-containing polymer was immobilized photoreactively on conventional polymer surfaces and significantly reduced interactions with proteins and mammalian cells.  相似文献

A 44-year-old premenopausal woman having local recurrence and pleural and bone metastases of breast cancer was treated with aromatization inhibition in combination with Luteinizing Hormone-releasing Hormone (LH-RH) agonist. The dominant site of metastasis was a painful local lesion invading the chest wall. A partial response by reducing the size of the local lesion was attained 3 months after initiation of treatment. This result suggested that treatment using aromatization inhibition in combination with LH-RH agonist would be effective in premenopausal breast cancer. To confirm the effectiveness of this treatment, comparative study between aromatization inhibition in combination with LH-RH agonist aromatization inhibition alone and anti-estrogen in combination with LH-RH agonist are needed.  相似文献

To our knowledge, this report represents the first confirmed case in Japan of a 15-year-old boy with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).L3 with hand-mirror cells (HMC) in the bone marrow. HMC lymphoid leukemia is an unusual variant of ALL in which the bone marrow lymphoblasts manifest distinctive hand-mirror morphologic features. HMC lymphoblast is characterized by an asymmetric foot-like cytoplasmic process that extends from the portion of the cell, thus giving it the light-microscopic appearance responsible for its name. Besides ALL, HMC has been reported in acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML), blastic crisis of chronic myelogenous leukemia, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and infectious mononucleosis. HMC has been reported to be prevalent in ALL.L1 and L2 as compared with L3.  相似文献

Nepheline solid solutions having high thermal expansion coefficients ranging from 1.2 to 1.8×10−5°C−1 were prepared from the systems NaAlSiO4-LiAlSiO4 and NaAlSi4-KAlSiO4. The thermal expansion coefficient decreased by substituting Li+ for Na+, and increased by substituting K+ for Na+. By forming a series of the nepheline solid solutions in a single ceramic body, a functionally gradient material with respect to thermal expansion was prepared. The thermal expansion coefficient should gradually vary with position according to the composition x in Na1−x MxAlSiCO4 (M=Li and K).  相似文献

A study was made on increasing the coercive force in CoNiCr/Cr sputtered hard-disk media. A higher coercive force could be obtained when the substrate temperature was higher than 150°C and a negative bias voltage was applied to the substrate during sputtering. With optimized conditions, a coercive force of more than 2300 Oe was obtained. The increase in the coercive force is thought to be due to the enhancement of isolation between magnetic particles by developing the segregation of Cr in the CoNiCr film  相似文献
