The compositional framework is used in modeling of a BO that allows extending a BO model to a compositional model and vice versa. Nano-TiO2 pigments in pure crystallographic anatase and rutile phases have been successfully prepared by hydrothermal at 120°C and hydrolysis methods, respectively. The laboratory-prepared pigments were characterized parallel to two commercial pigments of the same crystal structure. All pigments were applied in paper coating mixtures, and their influence on coated paper properties was systematically investigated. X-ray diffraction investigation showed that the laboratory-prepared pigments using the hydrothermal method at 120°C were pure anatase, whereas hydrolysis method produced pure rutile phase pigment. The application of the prepared nanopigments and the corresponding commercial TiO2 phases in paper coating revealed that clay/rutile nano-TiO2 pigments in paper coating mixture decreased coated paper roughness more than blending clay with anatase nano-TiO2 pigments. Commercial nano-TiO2 pigments increased porosity of coated paper at both the 30% and 50% addition of nano-TiO2 pigments to clay, while laboratory-prepared nano-TiO2 pigments highly decreased it at 30% addition of nano-TiO2 to clay, compared to clay only. Blending of clay/nano-TiO2 pigments improved both brightness and opacity of the coated paper where commercial pigments are more effective. Burst, tensile strength, stretching, and TEA were improved in the case of all pigments. The 50% addition of the prepared and commercial nanopigments in conjunction with clay improved the mechanical coated paper properties more than 30% addition (except the cases of stretching and TEA of the commercial pigments). The coated paper samples were offset printed. It was found that blending of clay/nano-TiO2 pigments improved print density. Commercial nano-TiO2 pigments improved print gloss more than the laboratory-prepared ones. This result was found consistent with the results of coated paper roughness.  相似文献

Three amidosulfobetaine surfactants were synthesized namely: 3-(N-pentadecanamidopropyl-N,N-dimethyl ammonium) propanesulfonate (2a); 3-(N-heptadecanamidopropyl-N,N-dimethyl ammonium) propanesulfonate (2b), and 3-(N-nonadecanamidopropyl-N,N-dimethyl ammonium) propanesulfonate (2c). These surfactants were prepared by direct amidation of commercially available fatty acids with 3-(dimethylamino)-1-propylamine and subsequent reaction with 1,3-propanesultone to obtain quaternary ammonium salts. The synthesized surfactants were characterized by IR, NMR and mass spectrometry. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) results showed that the synthesized surfactants have excellent thermal stability with no major thermal degradation below 300 °C. The critical micelle concentration (CMC) values of the surfactants 2a and 2b were found to be 2.2 × 10?4 and 1.04 × 10?4 mol/L, and the corresponding surface tension (γCMC) values were 33.14 and 34.89 mN m?1, respectively. The surfactants exhibit excellent surface properties, which are comparable with conventional surfactants. The intrinsic viscosity of surfactant (2b) was studied at various temperatures and concentrations of multi-component brine solution. The plot of natural logarithm of relative viscosity versus surfactant concentration obtained from Higiro et al. model best fit the surfactant behavior. Due to good salt resistance, excellent surface properties and thermal stability, the synthesized surfactant has potential to be used in various oil field applications such as enhanced oil recovery, fracturing, acid diversion, and well stimulation.  相似文献

In this article, an analytical approach, for optimum nonlinear circuit analysis is described. At a given input frequency, the method consists in determining, for each nonlinear component of the circuit, a closed volume including all the allowed powers at its terminal ports. The boundary of this volume, called “characteristic surface,” allows extremum powers of nonlinear devices to be predicted and then optimum performance of the circuit to be deduced. Applied to various microwave transistor circuits, this procedure has shown good agreement between computed and measured or previous published results. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Vitamin E acetate, which is used as a diluent of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), has been reported as the primary causative agent of e-cigarette, or vaping, product use-associated lung injury (EVALI). Here, we employ in vitro assays, docking, and molecular dynamics (MD) computer simulations to investigate the interaction of vitamin E with the membrane-bound cannabinoid 2 receptor (CB2R), and its role in modulating the binding affinity of THC to CB2R. From the MD simulations, we determined that vitamin E interacts with both CB2R and membrane phospholipids. Notably, the synchronized effect of these interactions likely facilitates vitamin E acting as a lipid modulator for the cannabinoid system. Furthermore, MD simulation and trajectory analysis show that when THC binds to CB2R in the presence of vitamin E, the binding cavity widens, facilitating the entry of water molecules into it, leading to a reduced interaction of THC with CB2R. Additionally, the interaction between THC and vitamin E in solution is stabilized by several H bonds, which can directly limit the interaction of free THCs with CB2R. Overall, both the MD simulations and the in vitro dissociation assay results indicate that THC binding to CB2R is reduced in the presence of vitamin E. Our study discusses the role of vitamin E in limiting the effect of THCs and its implications on the reported pathology of EVALI.  相似文献

The edible red seaweed Eucheuma cottonii is abundantly cultivated for carrageenan production. This study investigated the effects of dietary E. cottonii polyphenol-rich extract (ECME) on breast cancer. In vitro assays showed that ECME was antiproliferative against oestrogen-dependent MCF-7 and oestrogen-independent MB-MDA-231 human breast-cancer cells (IC50 values of 20 and 42 μg/ml, respectively) but was non-toxic to normal cell lines. The ECME (150 and 300 mg/kg BW) was fed to female rats and, after 4 weeks, rat mammary tumour was induced using LA7 cells (inoculated subcutaneously). The ECME inhibited tumour development and erythrocyte lipid peroxidation in the cancer-induced rats, dose-dependently. It showed anti-oestrogenic effects on the rat estrous cycle and serum hormone levels. Electron microscopy and histopathology observations confirmed apoptosis in the rat mammary tumours. The polyphenol-rich ECME was tumour-suppressive via apoptosis induction, downregulating the endogenous oestrogen biosynthesis, and improving antioxidative status in the rats.  相似文献
