The fatty acids profile and lipids content of the Macadamia integrifolia and Macadamia tetraphylla varieties and interspecies hybrids, M. integrifolia and M. tetraphylla were analyzed. Total lipids content ranged from 70.9 to 79.7 g of oil per 100 g?1 dry-solids. Gas chromatography/mass spectrophotometry identified 20 fatty acids, the most abundant of which were oleic acid (40 to 51%), palmitoleic acid (24 to 36%), and palmitic acid (8.4 to 13.1%). Fatty acids concentration differed between varieties and hybrids (Multivariate analysis of variance, F = 13.89, p < 0.0001). A ratio of monounsaturated fatty acids:saturated fatty acid values ranged from 2.8 to 4.6. The Huatusco variety (M. integrifolia and M. tetraphylla) exhibited the highest percentage of lipids (79.7 g of oil per 100 g?1 DS) and the highest monounsaturated fatty acids:saturated fatty acid (4.6), thus highlighted its potential applications within the food industry. The Cate variety (M. integrifolia and M. tetraphylla) had the lowest monounsaturated fatty acids:saturated fatty acid, suggesting potential uses in the cosmetics industry. 相似文献

Blood flow is inherently linked to embryonic cardiac development, as haemodynamic forces exerted by flow stimulate mechanotransduction mechanisms that modulate cardiac growth and remodelling. This study evaluated blood flow in the embryonic heart outflow tract (OFT) during normal development at each stage between HH13 and HH18 in chicken embryos, in order to characterize changes in haemodynamic conditions during critical cardiac looping transformations. Two-dimensional optical coherence tomography was used to simultaneously acquire both structural and Doppler flow images, in order to extract blood flow velocity and structural information and estimate haemodynamic measures. From HH13 to HH18, peak blood flow rate increased by 2.4-fold and stroke volume increased by 2.1-fold. Wall shear rate (WSR) and lumen diameter data suggest that changes in blood flow during HH13–HH18 may induce a shear-mediated vasodilation response in the OFT. Embryo-specific four-dimensional computational fluid dynamics modelling at HH13 and HH18 complemented experimental observations and indicated heterogeneous WSR distributions over the OFT. Characterizing changes in haemodynamics during cardiac looping will help us better understand the way normal blood flow impacts proper cardiac development. 相似文献

The response of some inoculated strains and native flora to PL treatment (Xenon lamp, 3 pulses s?1, 10 cm distance from the lamp, 71.6 J cm?2) in apple, orange and strawberry fresh juices with different absorbance, turbidity and particle size was investigated. Microbial growth dynamics during 12‐day storage (5 °C) of PL‐treated juices was also evaluated. PL treatments provoked 0.3–2.6 log reductions for inoculated microorganisms and 0.1–0.7 for native flora. High turbidity and particles with high UV absorbance seemed to play a major role in the PL efficiency compared to particle size. Cold storage of PL‐processed juices provoked an increase in Salmonella Enteritidis and Listeria innocua inactivation, achieving 5.0–8.0 log reductions, while no recovery of Escherichia coli and retardation for yeast growth was observed, compared to untreated samples. This study gives valuable information regarding the influence of juice variables on PL effectiveness and emphasises the beneficial effect of a postcold storage on microbial safety of PL‐treated juices. 相似文献
