In recent years, Internet of Things (IoT) devices are used for remote health monitoring. For remotely monitoring a patient, only the health information at different time points are not sufficient; predicted values of biomarkers (for some future time points) are also important. In this article, we propose a powerful statistical model for an efficient dynamic patient monitoring using wireless sensor nodes through Bayesian Learning (BL). We consider the setting where a set of correlated biomarkers are measured from a patient through wireless sensors, but the sensors only report the ordinal outcomes (say, good, fair, high, or very high) to the sink based on some prefixed thresholds. The challenge is to use the ordinal outcomes for monitoring and predicting the health status of the patient under consideration. We propose a linear mixed model where interbiomarker correlations and intrabiomarker dependence are modeled simultaneously. The estimated and the predicted values of the biomarkers are transferred over the internet so that health care providers and the family members of the patient can remotely monitor the patient. Extensive simulation studies are performed to assess practical usefulness of our proposed joint model, and the performance of the proposed joint model is compared to that of some other traditional models used in the literature.  相似文献

Poly(N-vinyl carbazole) was sulfonated with different sulfonating agents and ion exchange capacities of the resins produced were evaluated. A maximum capacity of 4.5 meq · g?1 of dry resin was realized when sulfonation was done with 98.8% H2SO4 at 30°C for 10 h. The pH titration curves reveal the nature of a strong monofunctional cation exchanger with a pK value of 2.2. The resin exhibits a moderate rate of exchange with NaCl and is thermally stable up to ca. 250°C.  相似文献

A crosslinked polymer has been synthesized from the reaction of N-vinylcarbazole and formalin in toluene in the presence of dry HCl gas. The copolycondensate is insoluble in all common solvents for poly-N-vinylcarbazole, and exhibits higher thermal stability than the unmodified poly-N-vinylcarbazole. However, this polymer is less thermally stable than the corresponding furfural modified poly-N-vinylcarbazole. A mechanism for the overall reaction has been suggested and the factors affecting the synthesis have been discussed.  相似文献

This study aimed at demonstrating the effects of fermentation time (24, 48, 72, 96, and 120 h) and water activity (0.943, 0.970, and 0.985) on the production of cellulolytic enzymes by solid-state fermentation of purple mombin (Spondias purpurea L.) residue using Aspergillus niger. The fermentation was carried out at 35°C and the enzyme production was measured as endoglucanase and total cellulose activities. The optimum condition for endoglucanase was water activity 0.974 and 93.8 h of fermentation, reaching a production of 3.21 U/g of residue; whereas for total cellulase it was 0.958 and 79.4 h achieving 12.1 U/g of residue. Fermentation time had a greater effect on the endoglucanase activity, while water activity had a more significant influence on the total cellulase activity. Endoglucanase had optimum activity at temperature of 50°C and pH 5.0. Although cellulase total optimum activity was also at pH 5.0, the maximum activity was at 60°C.  相似文献

Polycrystalline diamond coatings have been grown on unpolished side of Si(100) wafers by hot filament chemical vapour deposition process. The morphology of the grown coatings has been varied from cauliflower morphology to faceted morphology by manipulation of the growth temperature from 700°C to 900°C and methane gas concentration from 3% to 1·5%. It is found that the coefficient of friction of the coatings under high vacuum of 133·32×10?7 Pa (10?7 torr) with nanocrystalline grains can be manipulated to 0·35 to enhance tribological behaviour of bare Si substrates.  相似文献

Titanium dioxide is a wide band gap (3.2 eV) semiconductor which is photo-active when irradiated with UV light. For wider scale use of TiO2 as a photocatalyst, its activity needs to be extended to the visible light region (constituting 45% of total incident solar energy). A diffusion flame aerosol reactor (FLAR) with an oxygen lean environment in the particle formation zone has been used to synthesize oxygen deficient titanium suboxide (TiOx with x < 2) nanoparticles. Using a standard-based electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) technique, the non-stoichiometry (x in TiOx) in the flame synthesized particles has been quantified with high accuracy (uncertainty less than 3%). Under an oxygen lean environment in the particle formation zone, the non-stoichiometry in the TiOx particles is a function of the flame temperature. The value of x in the flame synthesized TiOx nanoparticles is in the range of 1.88 < x < 1.94. Diffuse reflectance spectra confirmed that the oxygen deficient TiOx particles absorbed visible light. Visible light activity of the TiOx particles is demonstrated by photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange solution under visible light illumination.  相似文献

The technique of Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis (SHS) was used to prepare NiAl from compacts using elemental powder mixtures in stoichiometric amounts under vacuum and argon atmosphere. Considerable changes in the oxygen contents of the specimen before and after the SH-synthesis were not observed. But, unusual occurrence of an impurity phase was noticed in the product as second phase precipitate. The sparsely distributed precipitates could be detected only in the Transmission Electron Microscope and was characterized to be an oxide of aluminium (-Al2O3) containing nickel oxide (NiO), whose solubility in -Al2O3 at room temperature has not been reported earlier. The occurrence of this phase could be traced to the oxygen on the surface of the reactant particles.  相似文献

Flow past a square cylinder at a Reynolds number of 21,400 has been studied numerically using the large-eddy simulation technique. A dynamic subgrid-scale stress model has been used for the small scales of turbulence. The time- and span-averaged axial and transverse velocities in the downstream of the cylinder are in good agreement with the experimental results. The distribution of turbulent normal and shear stresses is also well predicted. The coherent and incoherent components of turbulent fluctuations at some specified phases have been separated and their relative magnitudes downstream of the cylinder have been compared. The comparison shows more coherence in the near wake than the far wake, while the coherent and incoherent components are of comparable magnitude in the far wake. The far wake shows irregular phase-averaged structures.  相似文献
