The preparation of NaCaPO4 doped with rare earth (RE) ions Ce3+, Eu3+ and Dy3+ by combustion method was described. Under UV excitation (251 nm) of NaCaPO4:Ce3+ showsd emission (367 nm) in UV range. When NaCaPO4:Dy3+ phosphor was excited at 349 nm, the emission spectrum showed intense bands at 482 nm (blue) and 576 nm (yellow). Model complexes of nickel(III) and nickel(IV) are furnished by hexadentate and tridentate oxime-imine-amine ligands derived by the condensation of biacetyl monoxime with amines. The synthesis, characterisation, structure, redox equilibria and reactivity of these complexes are critically reviewed. Correlations and generalisations pertaining to oxidation state stability, electroprotic equilibria and reaction mechanisms are examined. In the last few decades, different types of gels have been widely studied as potential drug delivery carriers. In this paper, we propose the synthesis of an oleogel, a tamarind gum hydrogel, and bigels for applications as drug delivery matrices. The oleogel was prepared by mixing stearic acid and rice bran oil, whereas the hydrogel was prepared by mixing tamarind gum with a hydroethanolic solution. Hydrogel‐in‐oleogel and oleogel‐in‐hydrogel bigels were prepared by mixing the hydrogel and the oleogel. The suitability of the formulations for controlled drug release applications was thoroughly examined using microscopy, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, as well as mechanical, electrical, thermal, drug release, and antimicrobial studies. An alteration in the microarchitecture of the bigels is observed when the oleogel and the hydrogel are mixed in varying proportions. The associative interactions within the formulations increase with the increase in the hydrogel content. The bigels exhibit the presence of stearic acid melting endotherm (associated with the oleogel) and water evaporation endotherm (associated with the hydrogel). This study suggests that the hydrogel has lowest bulk resistance compared to the other formulations. The structural breakdown of the bigels is composition‐dependent, and the bulk electrical resistance is mainly governed by the oleogel phase. An increase in the diffusion of the moxifloxacin HCl from the formulations is observed with the increase of the hydrogel proportion, which in turn increases the rate of release of the drug. The proposed formulations also exhibit good antimicrobial efficacy. The analysis of these properties suggests that specific formulations can be tailored by need‐based applications of the drug release rate. 相似文献
Guayule natural rubber (GNR) is an alternative resource of Hevea natural rubber (HNR) with 99.9% cis content in its 1,4-polyisoprene chemical backbone. In this study, compounds were formulated independently with four different reinforcing fillers such as carbon black (HAF), precipitated silica (VN3), fume silica (FUM) and nanofly ash (NFA) for the advancement of GNR based products. The cure characteristic, dynamic-mechanical performance and mechanical properties of GNR composite were studied with the reinforcing effect of different fillers on GNR. The cure characteristic results demonstrated that HAF and FUM silica filled compounds had more processing safety than VN3 and NFA filled compounds. Viscoelastic parameters of the vulcanizates were studied by dynamic mechanical analysis to estimate the glass transition characteristics and dynamic behavior. The higher storage modulus of FUM silica vulcanizate was an indication of superior filler reinforcing nature and improved rolling resistance than other filled systems. Additionally, HRTEM analysis also proved the better filler dispersion ability of FUM silica in GNR matrix. The mechanical properties were studied with a variation of each filler loading of 8, 16, and 32 phr in GNR vulcanizates. The tensile strength of each filled system increased with an increase of filler content from 8 to 32 phr. In comparison, FUM silica GNR vulcanizates exhibited better mechanical properties, therefore, it was considered as a better structure-performance composite than those of HAF, VN3 and NFA filled composites.
In this study, needle-shape TiO2 fibers were successfully fabricated inside a micro-channeled Al2O3-ZrO2 composite porous membrane system using sol-gel method. The micro-channeled Al2O3-ZrO2 composite was fabricated using the fibrous monolithic (FM) process. Pure anatase phase TiO2 was crystallized from the as-coated amorphous phase during calcination at 510 °C. The TiO2 fibers grew on the surface frame of the micro-channeled Al2O3-ZrO2 composite membrane and fully covered the inside of the micro-channeled pores. The specific surface area of the TiO2 coated membrane system was dramatically increased by over 100 fold compared to that of the non-coated system. The photocatalytic activity of the membrane was also assessed and was shown to very effectively convert organic materials. Thus, this novel membrane holds promise for use as an advanced filtration system. 相似文献
The cytochrome P450 monooxygenase CYP101B1, from a Novosphingobium bacterium is able to bind and oxidise aromatic substrates but at a lower activity and efficiency than norisoprenoids and monoterpenoid esters. Histidine 85 of CYP101B1 aligns with tyrosine 96 of CYP101A1, which, in the latter enzyme forms the only hydrophilic interaction with its substrate, camphor. The histidine residue of CYP101B1 was mutated to phenylalanine with the aim of improving the activity of the enzyme for hydrophobic substrates. The H85F mutant lowered the binding affinity and activity of the enzyme for β-ionone and altered the oxidation selectivity. This variant also showed enhanced affinity and activity towards alkylbenzenes, styrenes and methylnaphthalenes. For example the rate of product formation for acenaphthene oxidation was improved sixfold to 245 nmol per nmol CYP per min. Certain disubstituted naphthalenes and substrates, such as phenylcyclohexane and biphenyls, were oxidised with lower activity by the H85F variant. Variants at H85 (A and G) designed to introduce additional space into the active site so as to accommodate these larger substrates did not improve the oxidation activity. As the H85F mutant of CYP101B1 improved the oxidation of hydrophobic substrates, this residue is likely to be in the substrate binding pocket or the access channel of the enzyme. The side chain of the histidine might interact with the carbonyl groups of the favoured norisoprenoid substrates of CYP101B1. 相似文献
Mathematical models for single electrode reversible heat and non-isothermal electromotive force (EMF) of a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) are developed. These models estimate the volumetric reversible heat generation and EMF of electrochemical reactions, within each electrode at local conditions of temperature and pressure, based on entropy change of half reactions. The resulting equations are thermodynamically consistent. They inherently obey the conservation of energy law as the electrochemical energy released added to the heat of reactions at each electrode equate the enthalpy change of the reacted species. The equations are implemented to model electrodes in a tubular micro- solid oxide fuel cell (TμSOFC). The thermodynamic consistency of the model is numerically confirmed as the enthalpy of the reactants equates the electric energy released by the cell plus the sum of electrode heats plus electrolyte Ohmic heat. The effect of thermal gradients on the cell's overall EMF is found to be negligible. The reversible and irreversible heat generation of each electrode are distinguished. Overall, the anode is found to be endothermic, and the cathode exothermic. 相似文献
