A simple yet accurate equivalent circuit model was developed for the analysis of slow-wave properties (dispersion and interaction impedance characteristics) of a rectangular folded-waveguide slow-wave structure. Present formulation includes the effects of the presence of beam-hole in the circuit, which were ignored in existing approaches. The analysis was benchmarked against measurement as well as with 3D electromagnetic modeling using MAFIA for two typical slow-wave structures operating in Ka- and Q-bands, and close agreements were observed. The analysis was extended for demonstrating the effect of the variation of beam-hole radius on the RF interaction efficiency of the device.  相似文献

It has been shown that the mechanical properties of NR/BR/EPDM blends can be improved by using APPS as a modifier. In this paper, it is demonstrated that modification of EPDM with APPS takes place and saturation occurs when the APPS amount reaches 5 wt.‐%. It is shown that the rubber/carbon black affinity improves by using APPS‐grafted EPDM in the blend. TEM and STEM images clearly show that the NR/BR/APPS‐EPDM blend contains a significantly higher content of homogeneous rubber phase than the unmodified NR/BR/EPDM blend. The much better distribution of the carbon black in the APPS‐EPDM phase is considered the main reason for the improvement in properties of the blend.

A coating with a duplex structure consisting of an outer Ni2Al3 layer and an inner Fe2Al5 layer was formed on a commercial type of ferritic steel P92 using a two step process of electroless Ni/B plating followed by pack aluminising at 650 °C. Nearly 11,000 h oxidation test in air and more than 13,000 h isothermal annealing test in argon atmosphere were carried out to assess the long term oxidation resistance and thermal stability at 650 °C. The amount of oxidation was only about 0.66 mg/cm2 for the coating as compared to 10.3 mg/cm2 for the uncoated steel after nearly 11,000 h oxidation test. Inward Al diffusion took place during oxidation test, which led to the transformation of the outer Ni2Al3 layer to NiAl and increase in the Al diffusion depth. However, once the outer Ni2Al3 layer was completely transformed to NiAl, it stayed stable during the remaining period of oxidation test, providing long term oxidation resistance. Kirkendall voids formed and grew and then finally disappeared in the coating layers due to interdiffusion processes taking place at the oxidizing temperature at the interfaces between different layers of the duplex coating. No spallation was observed in the coating during the entire period of the oxidation or isothermal annealing tests.  相似文献

The oxidation behaviour of Cr0.45Al0.53Y0.02N (at.%) thin film deposited on ??-TiAl based alloy Ti?C45Al?C8Nb (at.%) was carried out. The tests were performed in the temperature range 750?C950???C for 500?h. The materials showed good corrosion resistance only at temperatures of 750 and 850???C where Al2O3 and Cr2O3 phases developed as a top oxide scale. A lack of corrosion resistance was observed at 950???C where a thick scale (100???m) that developed consisted of alternate layers of TiO2 and Al2O3 phases. To investigate the oxidation behaviour, the corrosion kinetics were determined by means of discontinuous gravimetry of the exposed samples. Surface and cross-sectional analyses of exposed samples were conducted using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy X-ray dispersive spectroscopy (EDS).  相似文献

The conventional kinetic analysis of an overall reaction (OR) is limited to a single sequential pathway of molecular steps at a time, based either on the general quasi-steady state (QSS) approach of Bodenstein, or on the much simpler but limited Langmuir–Hinshelwood–Hougen–Watson (LHHW) approach based on assuming a single rate-determining step (RDS), the remaining being quasi-equilibrated (QE). We recently described a new algebraic methodology for deriving the QSS rate expression for a reaction sequence, which allowed interpretation of the final result in an Ohm's law form, i.e., OR rate=OR motive force/OR resistance of an equivalent electric circuit, where the consecutive mechanistic steps represent resistors in series. Here, we propose a similar Ohm's law form of QSS rate for a reaction system involving parallel pathways, whose equivalent electrical circuit derives directly from the reaction route (RR) Graph of its mechanism, as proposed earlier by us. The results are exact for a reaction network with mechanistic steps linear in intermediates concentrations, while they are approximate, albeit accurate, for non-linear step kinetics. We further show how the LHHW methodology, combined with the concept of intermediate reaction might be utilized to obtain the step resistances involved. For illustration, we utilize the relatively simple examples of: (1) the gas-phase hydrogen–bromine non-catalytic reaction (non-linear kinetics), and (2) zeolite catalyzed N2O decomposition reaction (linear kinetics). However, the approach is useful for more complex non-catalytic, catalytic and enzymatic reactions networks as well.  相似文献

Hyperspectral images are captured from hundreds of narrow and contiguous bands from the visible to infrared regions of electromagnetic spectrum. Each pixel of an image is represented by a vector where the components of the vector constitute the reflectance value of the surface for each of the bands. The length of the vector is equal to the number of bands. Due to the presence of large number of bands, classification of hyperspectral images becomes computation intensive. Moreover, higher correlation among neighboring bands increases the redundancy among them. As a result, feature selection becomes very essential for reducing the dimensionality. In the proposed work, an attempt has been made to develop a supervised feature selection technique guided by evolutionary algorithms. Self-adaptive differential evolution (SADE) is used for feature subset generation. Generated subsets are evaluated using a wrapper model where fuzzy k-nearest neighbor classifier is taken into consideration. Our proposed method also uses a feature ranking technique, ReliefF algorithm, for removing duplicate features. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, investigation is carried out on three sets of data and the results are compared with four other evolutionary based state-of-the-art feature selection techniques. The proposed method shows promising results compared to others in terms of overall classification accuracy and Kappa coefficient.  相似文献

This study aimed to correlate outputs of a plasma spray coating process with its input parameters. Central composite design of experiments had been followed to conduct the experiments on plasma spray coating process, in order to collect its input–output data. The effects of four input parameters, namely primary gas flow rate, stand-off distance, powder flow rate, and arc current on three outputs (responses), such as thickness, porosity, and microhardness of the coatings, had been studied using non-linear statistical regression analysis. Such an analysis yielded the response equations, and viability of these equations had been tested on a set of experimentally obtained cases. The above four process parameters were found to have varying influences on different responses. However, all the above three responses were found to be significantly dependent on primary gas flow rate.  相似文献

Accurate modeling of water transport in food materials requires knowledge of how transport properties depend on the material structure. Water transport in a cellular tissue depends on its pathway (intracellular versus extracellular), which in turn depends on temperature. Using a combination of permeability measurement, pore‐size distribution analysis and bioimpedance analysis, it is shown that water in a cellular tissue (e.g., potatoes) is mostly intracellular at lower temperatures at which cell membranes are intact. During drying at high‐temperatures, cell membranes in potatoes are damaged, and the moisture transport pathway is primarily extracellular (through intercellular spaces and the lacunae created by the killed cells), with a much lower resistance to water transport. The difference in moisture diffusivity in potatoes for the two pathways has been estimated to be three orders of magnitude. Therefore, transport properties measured or predicted at low temperatures cannot be used for high temperatures because they correspond to different moisture migration pathways. © 2010 American Institute of Chemical Engineers AIChE J, 2011  相似文献

Bead-on-plate welds were carried out on austenitic stainless steel plates using an electron beam welding machine. Experimental data were collected as per central composite design and regression analysis was conducted to establish input–output relationships of the process. An attempt was made to minimize the weldment area, after satisfying the condition of maximum bead penetration. Thus, it was posed as a constrained optimization problem and solved utilizing a Genetic Algorithm with a penalty function approach. The Genetic Algorithm was able to determine optimal weld-bead geometry and recommend the necessary process parameters for the same.  相似文献

A multiphase model based on unsaturated flow in a hygroscopic porous medium, which accounts for the important physical phenomena that take place during thermal treatment of meat, is developed. Frozen meat is considered as a porous solid comprising of water, fat and protein with gas trapped in its pores. As it is heated, water and fat melt, and, are gradually released from the solid protein matrix to the pore space. With further rise in temperature, liquid water evaporates. Since four fluid components (liquid water phase, liquid fat phase, water vapor and air) are present in the pore space, a mass balance equation is written for each component. Local thermal equilibrium assumption leads to one energy balance equation for the whole system. The model is validated for double-sided contact heating of hamburger patties by comparing temperature and moisture profiles with experimental studies. Dominant modes of transport are identified.  相似文献
