In accord with the increasing concern about the global environmental issues, the absorption refrigeration heat-pump systems are currently being considered very promising and attractive. For the purpose of supporting the advanced R&D technology in this area, we have developed a novel correlation to represent the bubble-point pressures of LiBr H2O solutions. The developed correlation covers the most extensive range of validity ever proposed: 273–483 K for temperatures, 0.05 kPa to 1.0 MPa for pressures. and 29 76 wt% LiBr for concentrations.Paper presented at the Twelfth Symposium on Thermophysical Properties, June 19–24, 1994. Bubble-point pressures and saturated-liquid densities of the binary R-135 (pentafuoroethane) + R- 143a ( 1, 1, 1-trifluoroethane) system have been measured for several compositions at temperatures from 280 to 330 K by means of a magnetic densimeter coupled with a variable-volume cell mounted with a metallic bellows. The experimental uncertainties of the temperature, pressure. and density measurements and the composition determination were estimated to be within ±15 mK, ±13 k Pa, ±0.2%, and ±0.1 wt%, respectively. The purities of the samples used throughout the measurements are 99.98 wt% for R-125 and 99.0 mol % for R- 143a. Based on the present data, the thermodynamic behavior of the vapor-liquid equilibria of this binary refrigerant mixture has been evaluated by using the Peng-Robinson equation for the bubble-point pressures, and the modified Hankinson-Brobst-Thomson equation for the saturated-liquid densities. BiCMOS standard cell macros, including a 0.5-W 3-ns register file, a 0.6-W 5-ns 32-kbyte cache, a 0.2-W 3-ns table look-aside buffer (TLB), and a 0.1-W 3-ns adder, are designed with a 0.5-μm BiCMOS technology. A supply voltage of 3.3 V is used to achieve low power consumption. Several BiCMOS/CMOS circuits, such as a self-aligned threshold inverter (SATI) sense amplifier and an ECL HIT logic are used to realize high-speed operation at the low supply voltage. A BiCMOS logic circuit applicable to sub-2-V digital circuits has been developed. A transiently saturated full-swing BiCMOS (TS-FS-BiCMOS) logic circuit operates twice as fast as CMOS at 1.5-V supply. A newly developed transient-saturation technique, with which bipolar transistors saturate only during switching periods, is the key to sub-2-V operation because a high-speed full-swing operation is achieved to remove the voltage loss due to the base-emitter turn-on voltage. Both small load dependence and small fan-in dependence of gate delay time are attained with this technique. A two-input gate fabricated with 0.3-μm BiCMOS technology verifies the performance advantage of TS-FS-BiCMOS over other BiCMOS circuits and CMOS at sub 2-V supply  相似文献

To improve the durability of hydrogen storage materials against surface poisoning by impurity gases, effectiveness of Pd-coating layer prepared by using a Barrel-Sputtering System was examined for ZrNi powder. The effectiveness of Pd-coating was evaluated by activation temperature, at which Pd/ZrNi poisoned by air could be activated to absorb hydrogen. Characterization of Pd-coated ZrNi (denoted as Pd/ZrNi) by scanning electron microscopy, electron probe microanalysis and X-ray diffraction showed that a uniform Pd-coating layer was formed with the barrel-sputtering system. It was found that the poisoned Pd/ZrNi sample could be activated even at 423 K to absorb hydrogen at room temperature. This exhibits remarkable contrast to bare ZrNi, which could be only activated appreciably above 1073 K. It is concluded that the Pd-coating by barrel sputtering is quite effective to avoid the effect of surface poisoning of powdery hydrogen storage materials. However, the activation at excessively high temperature resulted in the loss of high activity to absorb hydrogen. It was concluded that this phenomenon was associated with reactions between Pd and ZrNi to form PdZr and other byproducts.  相似文献

An audit of the treatment procedures routinely adopted by maxillofacial and oral surgeons for the removal of impacted third molars under general anaesthesia was undertaken in South Africa. Most maxillofacial and oral surgeons agree on the method of bone removal, the prescribing of antibiotics, analgesic agents and mouthwashes, the suturing of the incision wound and the post-operative review of patients. The results were compared to a similar study undertaken by Falcon and Roberts (1992) in the UK. With the exception of the method of bone removal, maxillofacial and oral surgeons in both groups share a similar approach to the treatment procedures adopted in the removal of impacted third molars. Some variability, however, existed in both studies with regard to the use of intra-operative local anaesthetic agents, the administration of peri-operative steroids and the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents.  相似文献

The microporous polypropylene sheets were prepared by biaxially stretching polypropylene sheets containing CaCO3 filler (particle size, 0.08–3.0 μm), when the CaCO3 filler content was 59% by weight and the stretching ratio was 2.8 × 1.8. The microstructure of the sheets were investigated in relation to the CaCO3 particle size by a N2 gas permeation method. (1) Effective porosity increases with decreasing mean particle size of filler. (2) The tortuosity factor of the pore is in the range of 25–40 and becomes relatively smaller with decreasing mean particle size of filler. (3) The equivalent pore size becomes relatively smaller with decreasing mean particle size of filler.  相似文献

The longitudinal electric field of single and double Gaussian laser beams are used to accelerate electrons. The longitudinal field of the single beam is concentrated on the axis and is favourable for acceleration. A set of two beams is considered. Beams run parallel, collinearly, overlap partially and have a phase difference iπ in between. As a result, the transverse components of fields cancel each other while the longitudinal components are double-fold. In both schemes, the electrons are accelerated in lengths of the Rayleigh range, which is common to the plasma-based accelerators.  相似文献

Zinc is an important trace element for immune function. Here, we show that zinc addition in a serum- and lipopolysaccharide-free cell culture system leads to significantly enhanced levels of interleukin 1 beta (IL-1 beta) and tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) and to expression of the corresponding mRNA in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC). Structurally related divalent cations like cobalt, nickel, and mercury also partially increase monokine secretion but to a much lower and thus insignificant extent. They fail to induce mRNA of TNF-alpha after 3 h of culture. Therefore, monokine induction is a zinc-specific effect influenced by the physicochemical properties of the ion. Confirmation of the unique significance of zinc for immune function provides a better understanding of the mechanisms of specific zinc-mediated immune modulation.  相似文献

Mutational spectra induced by different heterocyclic amines were characterized and compared with those obtained from diethylnitrosamine and N-methyl-N-nitrosourea. Mutation classes were identified by means of a series of mutant lacZ genes in F' episomes in Escherichia coli engineered to detect specifically each of two transitions, four transversions and five kinds of frameshift events. More than 99.5% of the mutations induced by heterocyclic amines were frameshift mutations. -2(C.G-G.C) frameshifts were favored over other types, such as +1(G.C), -1(G.C), +1(A.T) and -1(A.T), except when 3-amino-1,4-dimethyl-5H-pyrido[4,3-b]indole (Trp-P-1) was administered. -1(G.C) and +1(G.C) frameshifts predominate following Trp-P-1 treatment. A small number of G.C-->T.A transversions were induced by the treatment with 2-amino-3,4-dimethylimidazo[4,5-f]quinoline as well as with several other heterocyclic amines examined. Since G.C-->T.A transversions, but not frameshift mutations, are reported to play a role in heterocyclic amine-induced activation of the c-Ha-ras protooncogene or inactivation of the p53 tumor suppressor gene, the low level of base substitutions, particularly G.C-->T.A transversions, may represent a partial explanation for the relatively modest carcinogenic activity of heterocyclic amines, despite their extraordinarily strong mutagenicity in the Salmonella mutation assay.  相似文献
