Piezophotonic light‐emitting devices have great potential for future microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) due to the added functionality provided by the electromechanical transduction coupled with the ability of light emission. Piezophotonic light‐emitting source based on Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3–PbTiO3 (PMN–PT) bulk is severely restricted by many challenges, such as high voltage burden, low integration density, and micromanufacturing complexity. Developing chip‐integrated devices or incorporating such photonic components onto a Si platform is highly sought after in this field. In this work, the authors overcome the abovementioned problems by introducing single‐crystal PMN–PT thin films on Si as central active elements. Taking advantage of mature microfabrication techniques, arrays of PMN–PT actuators with small footprints and low operation voltages have been implemented. Each actuator can be individually addressed, generating local deformation to trigger piezophotonic luminescence from ZnS:Mn thin films. Moreover, the authors have realized continuous and reversible color manipulation of piezophotonic luminescence on a bilayer film of ZnS:Cu,Al/ZnS:Mn. The color tunability promises an extra degree of freedom and distinctly suggests its great potential in developing a more compact and colorful piezophotonic light sources and displays related applications together with the “single pixel” addressability.  相似文献

Design and synthesis of ordered, metal‐free layered materials is intrinsically difficult due to the limitations of vapor deposition processes that are used in their making. Mixed‐dimensional (2D/3D) metal‐free van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures based on triazine (C3N3) linkers grow as large area, transparent yellow‐orange membranes on copper surfaces from solution. The membranes have an indirect band gap (E g,opt = 1.91 eV, E g,elec = 1.84 eV) and are moderately porous (124 m2 g?1). The material consists of a crystalline 2D phase that is fully sp2 hybridized and provides structural stability, and an amorphous, porous phase with mixed sp2–sp hybridization. Interestingly, this 2D/3D vdW heterostructure grows in a twinned mechanism from a one‐pot reaction mixture: unprecedented for metal‐free frameworks and a direct consequence of on‐catalyst synthesis. Thanks to the efficient type I heterojunction, electron transfer processes are fundamentally improved and hence, the material is capable of metal‐free, light‐induced hydrogen evolution from water without the need for a noble metal cocatalyst (34 µmol h?1 g?1 without Pt). The results highlight that twinned growth mechanisms are observed in the realm of “wet” chemistry, and that they can be used to fabricate otherwise challenging 2D/3D vdW heterostructures with composite properties.  相似文献

This contribution presents a novel probabilistic approach for the generation of discretionary lane change proposals with a focus on highway driving situations. The developed model is based on the quantification of the utility of driving lanes. It generates a lane change proposal if the current driving lane is unsatisfactory in the sense that the desired velocity of the automated vehicle is undershot because of a slow preceding vehicle. A driving simulator study was conducted to create a dataset for the optimization of the model parameters. The optimization goal is to accurately match the timings of the lane change intentions of all participants. Finally, the applicability of the model is shown on real data from a test vehicle.

This study investigates the development of open access (OA) to journal articles from authors affiliated with German universities and non-university research institutions in the period 2010–2018. Beyond determining the overall share of openly available articles, a systematic classification of distinct categories of OA publishing allowed us to identify different patterns of adoption of OA. Taking into account the particularities of the German research landscape, variations in terms of productivity, OA uptake and approaches to OA are examined at the meso-level and possible explanations are discussed. The development of the OA uptake is analysed for the different research sectors in Germany (universities, non-university research institutes of the Helmholtz Association, Fraunhofer Society, Max Planck Society, Leibniz Association, and government research agencies). Combining several data sources (incl. Web of Science, Unpaywall, an authority file of standardised German affiliation information, the ISSN-Gold-OA 3.0 list, and OpenDOAR), the study confirms the growth of the OA share mirroring the international trend reported in related studies. We found that 45% of all considered articles during the observed period were openly available at the time of analysis. Our findings show that subject-specific repositories are the most prevalent type of OA. However, the percentages for publication in fully OA journals and OA via institutional repositories show similarly steep increases. Enabling data-driven decision-making regarding the implementation of OA in Germany at the institutional level, the results of this study furthermore can serve as a baseline to assess the impact recent transformative agreements with major publishers will likely have on scholarly communication.

Prognosis and outcome of polytraumatized patients are determined by the possible development of multiple organ failure (MOF). Among the direct traumatic organ damage, it is caused by a systemic inflammatory reaction. This might be triggered by an activation of the inflammatory mediator cascade following hemorrhagic-traumatic shock as well as by oxygen-derived free radicals (ROS). The aim of our present study was to answer the following questions: 1. Is the "oxidative stress" measurable during the development of MOF after polytraumatic injury? 2. Is there a relation between the activation of the inflammatory mediator cascade and changes of the organism's antioxidative system? The study group included 26 patients (15 survivors, 11 non-survivors) suffering from severe polytraumatic injury (Hannover Polytrauma Score 12-63 points). Plasma levels of reduced (GSH) and oxidized (GSSG) glutathione alpha-tocopherol (TOC), lipid peroxides (expressed in terms of thiobarbituric acid reagible substances = TBARS), and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF) were measured each day from the point of admission on the ICU until the discharge or death of the patients. The following results were obtained: Independent from the outcome, we observed a continuous loss of plasma sulfhydryl groups and TOC. In the patients developing a MOF score > 5 on 10th day after injury (n = 6), a significant increase in plasma GSSG level was measurable. Additionally, a total loss of plasma GSH was seen in some of these patients indicating the collapse of the GSH-dependent antioxidative system. Similar changes were never observed in patients with MOF score < or = 5 on 10th day after injury (n = 15). In this group, a significant correlation between plasma TNF peaks and short time GSH boosts was obtained as a possible indicative for a stimulating effect of TNF on GSH synthesis. It can be concluded that processes of oxidative stress in connection with a consumption of endogenic antioxidants might be able to promote the development of MOF after polytraumatic injury.  相似文献

Described herein are detailed hydrolytic studies of a series of aziridinyl quinones, which trap nucleophiles when protonated. This study provided a compilation of the rate constants for nucleophile trapping and of the pKa values for the protonated aziridinyl quinones. A linear free energy relationship, including the antitumor agent DZQ, as well as other synthetic quinone derivatives, was obtained as a result of this study. Protonated DZQ has the relatively high pKa value of 3.8, which explains the enhanced cross-linking of DNA by DZQ and other related aziridinyl quinones at pH 4. The literature often shows aziridinyl quinone protonation occurring at the aziridinyl nitrogen, but the dependence of pKa values on quinone substituents indicates the presence of delocalization, which must arise from O-protonation. Also investigated were the DNA alkylation reactions of protonated aziridinyl quinones. At the outset of this study, we postulated that these "hard" electrophiles would alkylate the phosphate backbone of DNA. Bulk DNA is up to 35% alkylated by protonated aziridinyl quinones as judged by the incorporation of the quinone chromophore into the DNA. The presence of phosphate alkylation was verified by a 1H-31P NMR correlation experiment with DZQ-alkylated hexamer. Our modeling studies present a new picture of DZQ alkylation of DNA, where there is competition between N(7) and phosphate alkylation. The conclusions of this part of our study are that the phosphate backbone should be considered as a possible target of any DNA-alkylating agent and that an assessment of phosphate alkylation is best made with a 1H-31P NMR correlation experiment. Finally, the benzimidazole-based aziridinyl quinone 2 was observed to undergo aziridine ring opening followed by hydrolytic removal of the aminoethyl group from the quinone ring. This reaction was used to tag the phosphate backbone of DNA with aminoethyl groups. Such tags render anionic phosphates cationic and could also be employed as points of attachment for chromophores, spin labels, or other moieties to DNA.  相似文献

We report the case of a 40-year-old Filippino woman, with a 5-year history of a slowly spreading, painful skin lesion on her left foot. Histological examination showed a dermal, granulomatous infiltrate consisting of neutrophils, histiocytes and lymphocytes, with "sclerotic bodies" in the cytoplasm of phagocytic cells. Mycological culture revealed the presence of Phialophora verrucosa and confirmed the histopathological diagnosis of chromo-blastomycosis. Association of surgical curettage of the exuberant, infected tissue with systemic fluconazole administration gave good therapeutic results with no relevant side effects.  相似文献
