Shock recovery experiments have been conducted to assess the role of shock stress and orientation dependence on substructure evolution and deformation twinning of a [1 0 0]/[011¯] copper bicrystal. Transmission electron microscopy of the post-shock specimens revealed that well-defined dislocation cell structures developed in both grains and the average cell size decreased with increasing shock pressure from 5 to 10 GPa. Twinning occurred in the [1 0 0] grain, but not the [011¯] grain, at the 10 GPa shock pressure. The stress and orientation dependence of incipient twinning can be predicted by the stress and orientation conditions required to dissociate slip dislocations into glissile twinning dislocations. The dynamic widths between the two partials are calculated considering the three-dimensional deviatoric stress state induced by the shock as calculated using plane-strain plate impact simulations and the relativistic and drag effects on dislocations moving at high speeds.  相似文献

Unpasteurized lager beer samples from a commercial brewery were treated either by high hydrostatic pressure (HHP; 200, 250, 300, 350 MPa for 3 and 5 min at 20 °C) or by conventional heat pasteurization (60 °C for 15 min). The main attributes of the beer, such as ethanol content, extract and pH, were not affected by either treatment; however HHP and heat pasteurization affected colour, chill haze, protein sensitivity and bitterness. Change in bitterness was higher in conventional heat pasteurization, but pressures up to 300 MPa had no significant affect on bitterness. Although more studies should be carried out to investigate the effects of HHP treatment on different types of lagers and ales, our results revealed that HHP could be successfully used to process beer, even at temperatures well below those required for heat pasteurization, without affecting some of the quality attributes. The surface of an annealed 316L stainless steel coupon was laser shock peened and Vickers hardness measurements were subsequently taken of its surface. This Vickers hardness data was compared with measurements taken using the technique of positron annihilation Doppler broadening spectroscopy. When compared, a correlation was found between the Vickers hardness data measurements and those made using Doppler broadening spectroscopy. Although materials with a high defect density can cause the S-parameter measurements to saturate, variations in the S-parameter measurements suggest that through further research the Doppler broadening technique could be used as a viable alternative to measuring a material’s hardness. In turn, this technique, could be useful in industrial settings where surface hardness and surface defects are used to predict lifetime of components.  相似文献

Feed optimization for five-axis CNC machine tools with drive constraints   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
Real time control of five-axis machine tools requires smooth generation of feed, acceleration and jerk in CNC systems without violating the physical limits of the drives. This paper presents a feed scheduling algorithm for CNC systems to minimize the machining time for five-axis contour machining of sculptured surfaces. The variation of the feed along the five-axis tool-path is expressed in a cubic B-spline form. The velocity, acceleration and jerk limits of the five axes are considered in finding the most optimal feed along the tool-path in order to ensure smooth and linear operation of the servo drives with minimal tracking error. The time optimal feed motion is obtained by iteratively modulating the feed control points of the B-spline to maximize the feed along the tool-path without violating the programmed feed and the drives’ physical limits. Long tool-paths are handled efficiently by applying a moving window technique. The improvement in the productivity and linear operation of the five drives is demonstrated with five-axis simulations and experiments on a CNC machine tool.  相似文献

The basic objective of this study was to determine the effect of high hydrostatic pressure (HHP; 220, 250 and 330 MPa), holding time (5 and 10 min) and temperature (7, 15 and 25 °C) on some quality parameters of horse mackerel such as colour changes, thiobarbituric acid (TBA-i) and trimethylamine nitrogen (TMA-N), free amino acid content. HHP increased L * values of horse mackerel. The a * and b * of treated horse mackerel did not change significantly after HHP applications. After, HHP, TBA-i and TMA values of all HHP-treated horse mackerel samples remained unchanged than those of untreated samples. The results obtained from this study showed that the quality of high pressure treated horse mackerel is best preserved at 250 MPa, 7–15 °C for 5 min, 220 MPa, 15–25 °C for 5 min, 250 MPa, 15 °C for 10 min and 330 MPa, 25 °C for 10 min.  相似文献

Escherichia coli cells in peptone water were pressurized at 300?MPa at ambient temperature with no holding time (pulse series) and with a total holding duration of 300?s for single- (300?s?×?1 pulse) and multi-pulsed (150?s?×?2 pulses, 100?s?×?3 pulses, 75?s?×?4 pulses, 60?s?×?5 pulses, 50?s?×?6 pulses and 30?s?×?10 pulses) high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) treatments. Multi-pulsed HHP treatment with no holding time indicated that as the pulse number increased the number of inactivated and injured cells also increased. Holding time had significant effect on the inactivation of E. coli. There was low inactivation difference between single- and multi-pulsed HHP treatments with holding time. Escherichia coli cells showed at least 1.6 log10 more reduction on selective medium than the non-selective medium indicating that more than 95?% of the survivors severely injured for both single- and multi-pulsed treatments with holding time. Although the inactivation difference was low between single- and multi-pulsed HHP treatments, storage at 4?°C revealed that there was less recovery from injury for multi-pulsed HHP treatment.  相似文献

We have studied the radiation effects in Fe–Zr diffusion couples, formed by thermal annealing of a mechanically bonded binary system at 850 °C for 15 days. After irradiation with 3.5 MeV Fe ions at 600 °C, a cross sectional specimen was prepared by using a focused-ion-beam-based lift out technique and was characterized using scanning/transmission electron microscopy, selected-area diffraction and X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy analyses. Comparison studies were performed in localized regions within and beyond the ion projected range and the following observations were obtained: (1) the interaction layer consists of FeZr3, FeZr2, Fe2Zr, and Fe23Zr6; (2) large Fe23Zr6 particles with smaller core particles of Zr-rich Fe2Zr are found within the α-Fe matrix; (3) Zr diffusion is significantly enhanced in the ion bombarded region, leading to the formation of an Fe–Zr compound; (4) grains located within the interaction layer are much smaller in the ion bombarded region and are associated with new crystal growth and nanocrystal formation; and (5) large α-Fe particles form on the surface of the Fe side, but the particles are limited to the region close to the interaction layer. These studies reveal the complexity of the interaction phase formation in an Fe–Zr binary system and the accelerated microstructural changes under irradiation.  相似文献
