Practitioners and researchers need to stay up-to-date with the latest advances in their fields, but the continual growth in the amount of literature available makes this task increasingly difficult. In this article, we describe the Citation-Sensitive In-Browser Summariser (CSIBS), a new research tool to help manage the literature browsing task. The design of CSIBS was based on a user requirements analysis which identified the information needs that biomedical researchers commonly encounter when browsing through academic literature. CSIBS supports researchers in their browsing tasks by presenting both a generic and a tailored preview about a citation at the point at which they encounter it. This information is aimed at helping the reader determine whether or not to invest the time in exploring the cited article further, thus alleviating information overload. Feedback from biomedical researchers indicates that CSIBS facilitates this relevance judgement task, and that the interface and previews are informative and easy to use. 相似文献

This paper reports a multi-scale structure finite element modeling scheme to analyze the damage behaviors of biaxial multi-layer warp-knitted composite materials subjected to quasi-static and high strain rate compressions. The multi-scale structure model includes: (1) a micro/meso/macro structure model with periodic boundary conditions for homogenizing the heterogeneous fiber/resin system into unit cells, and (2) a macroscopic rate-dependent plasticity model for the knitting composite materials combined with critical damage area failure theory, which accounts for the stiffness degradation and failure strength of the material. The finite element results from the model provide the locations of stress propagation, the stress distribution, and the progressive failure behavior within the biaxial multi-layer warp-knitted composite materials. The effects of the knitted yarns and the element number sensitivity of the macro-scale model have also been discussed. 相似文献

This study investigated the enhancement of nonionic surfactant (TritonX-100, TX-100) on the reductive dechlorination of hexachlorobenzene (HCB) by microscale Cu/Fe bimetal. HCB reduction by Cu/Fe without TX-100, in aqueous TX-100, adsorbed with TX-100 and prepared with TX-100 was compared. Results showed that HCB reduction by Cu/Fe in aqueous TX-100 increased with increasing TX-100 concentration, reached a maximum of 98.6% when aqueous TX-100 concentration attained its critical micelle concentration (CMC), and decreased with the further increase in TX-100 concentration. The mechanism was suggested as the increased HCB mass transport at low TX-100 concentration below CMC and the coverage of reactive sites at high TX-100 concentration above CMC. The greatest reduction was achieved by Cu/Fe in the presence of 0.2 mM TX-100, followed by Cu/Fe adsorbed and prepared with 0.2 mM TX-100. Pentachlorobenzene and tetrachlorobenzene were found as the main dechlorination intermediates. Successive reduction by Cu/Fe in aqueous TX-100 solution could be maintained above 98% for four cycles. It is an alternative to use nonionic surfactants to enhance the reductive dechlorination of hydrophobic polychlorinated aromatic hydrocarbons (PCAH) by Cu/Fe bimetal. 相似文献

Topological exploration requires significant location detection and motion planning. To detect nodes (i.e., significant places)
robustly, we propose a new measure, the eigenvalue ratio (EVR), which converts geometrical shapes in the environment into
quantitative values using principal component analysis. For planning the safe motion of a robot, we propose the circle following
(CF) method, which abstracts the geometry of the environment while taking the characteristics of the sonar sensors into consideration.
Integrating the EVR with the CF method results in a topological exploration strategy using sonar sensors approach. The practicality
