The in situ measurement of phase stress under tensile deformation on an A6061 alloy reinforced with SiC whiskers (Al/SiCw MMC: Metal Matrix Composite) was performed using the X-ray diffraction technique. In order to raise a preciseness of measurements, we applied a profile fitting technique to separate the nearby located diffraction peak. Tensile deformation on elastic to plastic range was applied by four points bending device and discussed internal stress behavior in the short ceramic fiber reinforced MMC. Phase stress in Al matrix was increased linearly up to 2800×10−6 in strain and then saturated immediately. On the other hand phase stress in SiC whiskers shows an unstable stress behavior. It was decreased at first because of the Poisson's effect from Al matrix but reversed over 500×10−6 applied strain. The measured phase stress behavior in elastic region agreed with the calculations using micromechanics based on Eshelby/Mori–Tanaka model except for this unstable internal stress region. The macro stress behavior in plastic region was extremely small than that of the tensile test results. It supposed that the mechanism of strength is not so much the fiber reinforcing as the dispersion strengthening like the Orowan mechanism. Regarding the fatigue property, ΔKth of the Al/SiC MMC, this was lower than that of the A6061 alloy. On the Al/SiCw MMC specimen, many micro void formations were observed around the fatigue crack tip even under the ΔKth of A6061. It was considered that these were caused by the high gradient of residual stress on composite process and the unstable stress behavior in low ΔK region.  相似文献

People are placing their hopes on the future of fuel-cell vehicles (FCVs) to replace today's gasoline-fueled vehicles. To encourage the widespread use of FCVs, however, these vehicles must be able to drive a distance of at least 500 km, mileage comparable to today's gasoline-fueled vehicles. To achieve this distance, automobile manufacturers are focusing their efforts on developing new hydrogen fuel tanks that will raise pressure to 70 MPa from the current 35 MPa. At the same time, hydrogen stations will also have to be able to provide 70 MPa compressed hydrogen gas to service these improved FCVs. Regulations for hydrogen fueling stations where pressure is no higher than 40 MPa were established in 2005 in Japan but it goes without saying that these regulations are inadequate for hydrogen fueling stations of 70 MPa.  相似文献

The advent of advanced mobile/wireless systems has been facilitating the battery‐powered mobile computing devices (nodes) to remain always connected to the internet. However, until now, the power‐drain rate of mobile nodes is very high in comparison with the available power of portable batteries. To reduce the energy consumption of mobile nodes, we present an integrated IP paging protocol (IIPP) by integrating the IP‐layer paging protocol based on Mobile IPv4 regional registration (MIPRR) with a power save mechanism. IIPP reduces the frequency of signaling messages between mobile nodes and networks. When not sending or receiving data for a certain time, mobile nodes enter power save mode (PSM), and consume very low power. We formulate analytical models and carry out simulations to evaluate the proposed IIPP. The results show that, compared to MIPRR, IIPP significantly reduces the average power consumption of the mobile node and signaling overheads in the network. SrO and CaO, related compounds of BSCCO superconductor, are grown onto SrTiO3(100) substrates with molecular beam epitaxy(MBE) technique. During growth, the specular spots of RHEED patterns show intensity oscillations, indicating two dimensional growth. The periods of oscillations are utilized to calculate the atom fluxes. It is shown that sublimation processes of both Sr and Ca metals in the effusion cells are stable under the growth condition of oxide films. The periods of oscillations during the SrO growth are independent of substrate temperature, confirming that Sr atoms are oxidized immediately and stay on the substrate surface without re-evaporation. These informations are practically available for precise control of the atomic layer controlled MBE of BSCCO superconductor thin films.On leave from Superconductiivity Research Laboratory, ISTEC.  相似文献

The effects of the tensile test rate on the properties of a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) and of vulcanized rubber were ascertained and compared, using a poly(n-butyl acrylate-acrylic acid) random copolymer with varying degrees of crosslinking as the PSA. The 100% modulus of the PSA was found to increase along with the crosslinking degree and with faster tensile test rates. In contrast, the 100% modulus of the vulcanized rubber did not exhibit any test rate dependence. To assess this effect, the molecular weights between chemical and physical crosslinking points were determined via equilibrium swelling, dynamic mechanical analysis, and tensile tests. The proportion of physical crosslinking points was found to be far larger in the crosslinked PSA. Because these entanglement points can readily disentangle in response to slow deformation, variations in the test rate only affected the PSA. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Lateral nanoindentation provides access to the scratch hardness of glass surfaces. The specific sensitivity of the scratching experiment to surface mechanical properties can be enhanced when the local load at the tip apex is reduced. Here, we report on ramp-load scratch tests on a range of silicate glasses using a sphero-conical tip shape. Similar as with regular scratching experiments using sharp indenters, such tests create a sequence of micro-ductile, micro-cracking, and micro-abrasive regimes. Detailed investigation of the indenter displacement h and of the lateral force FL as recorded in situ, however, reveals pronounced deviations in comparison to Vickers or Berkovich scratching experiments. Most notably, this includes an abrupt increase in both h and FL at moderate normal load, marking the onset of ductile fracture, and a yield point at the transition from fully elastic deformation to the elastic-plastic regime at low load. For the range of examined silicate glasses, we find that structural cohesion controls yielding, whereas scratch-induced fracture and micro-abrasion are dominated by the volume density of bond energy.  相似文献

In this paper we describe an algorithm to render the asterism or chatoyancy effect in gems. This effect is due to light dispersion caused by inclusions consisting of vast numbers of thin fibrous needles. We develop models for distribution of the microfacet directions of the inclusions and of the light dispersion by them. Based on these models we derive an algorithm to render gems with the asterism effect. By introducting a ray distribution map, a new algorithm for tracing dispersed light rays is developed.  相似文献
