A heterojunction interfacial workfunction internal photoemission (HEIWIP) terahertz detector with ~1times1018cm-3 n-type doped GaAs emitters in a multilayer GaAs/Al0.13Ga0.87 As heterostructure is presented. The detection mechanism is based on free carrier absorption with a broad response extending to ~ 5.26 THz (57 mum), corresponding to an effective workfunction of ~ 21.8 meV, which is much smaller than the offset expected for an Al fraction of x = 0.13 at a 1times1018 cm-3 doping. This is attributed to a reduction of the conduction band offset by interface dipole formation between the accumulated negative charges at the interface states and migrated positively charged donors in the barrier. The device has a peak responsivity of 0.32 A/W at ~ 26 mum at 5 K. It is demonstrated that the dopant migration-induced interface dipole effect can be used to extend the zero response threshold frequency (f 0) of n-type HEIWIP detectors.  相似文献

In this paper, a compact, broadband linearly tapered meandered monopole tag antenna for UHF‐RFID is designed and optimized using particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. An inductive T‐match network is utilized for impedance matching with capacitive Higgs‐4 chip. The optimization goal of PSO was conjugate matching and in consequence the maximization of read range. Equivalent circuit of the proposed tag antenna is derived using ADS software to validate its impedance characteristics. The performance of the proposed tag in terms of tag power sensitivity, read range, realized gain, and differential radar cross section has been experimentally characterized. To check the tolerance of the designed tag to various object platforms, its read range performance is also verified on objects like wood, fiber, plastic, and so forth. Furthermore, read pattern of the proposed tag has been measured and found to have figure of eight in E‐plane and omnidirectional in H‐plane. Experimental results reveal that the proposed tag covers 865‐867 MHz (ETSI band, Europe) and 902‐928 MHz (FCC band, United States) both major RFID bands with a read range of 10 and 12 m, respectively. The proposed tag has 2060 mm3 of volumetric size with maximum measured readable distance of 12 m with EIRP of 3.28 W.  相似文献

Automatic annotation of images is one of the fundamental problems in computer vision applications. With the increasing amount of freely available images, it is quite possible that the training data used to learn a classifier has different distribution from the data which is used for testing. This results in degradation of the classifier performance and highlights the problem known as domain adaptation. Framework for domain adaptation typically requires a classification model which can utilize several classifiers by combining their results to get the desired accuracy. This work proposes depth-based and iterative depth-based fusion methods which are basically rank-based fusion methods and utilize rank of the predicted labels from different classifiers. Two frameworks are also proposed for domain adaptation. The first framework uses traditional machine learning algorithms, while the other works with metric learning as well as transfer learning algorithm. Motivated from ImageCLEF’s 2014 domain adaptation task, these frameworks with the proposed fusion methods are validated and verified by conducting experiments on the images from five domains having varied distributions. Bing, Caltech, ImageNet, and PASCAL are used as source domains and the target domain is SUN. Twelve object categories are chosen from these domains. The experimental results show the performance improvement not only over the baseline system, but also over the winner of the ImageCLEF’s 2014 domain adaptation challenge.  相似文献

Intumescent coatings are the newest passive fireproofing materials which maintain structural integrity of high-rise buildings in fire events. The present work focuses on the influence of zirconium silicate as a heat-stable filler in intumescent coatings. Different coatings were formulated by varying the zirconium silicate concentration from 1, 3, 5, 8, and 10 on parts per hundred basis (phr). Fire performance of the coatings was then determined by fire test using a Bunsen burner fire flame at 950°C for 1 h. The degradation of coatings was examined by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The morphology of the intumescent chars was analyzed by environmental scanning electron microscopy. The char was also examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. XRD confirmed the inertness of zirconium silicate with intumescent ingredients at high temperatures. TGA showed an increase in the weight residue of char at high temperature. The incorporation of zirconium silicate into intumescent coating forms a thermally stable char with better substrate adhesion. EDS analysis confirmed an increase in the antioxidation property of the char, and the fire test also confirmed an increase in char strength of coatings by the incorporation of zirconium silicate.  相似文献

The research reported in this paper is devoted towards the development of a rapid bacteriological test for water. The proposed technique consists in measuring “Cold T.C.A. insoluble portion” of metabolized phosphorus in multiplying bacterial cells with recourse to radioactive phosphorus-32 as a tracer and enumerates bacteria in 1 h incubation time. A linear correlation (coefficient of correlation = +0·989) has been shown to exist between this portion of phosphorus and cell population for bacterial species of public-health significance, thereby providing a point d'appui for this approach of enumerating water bacteria.The data reported in the paper reveal a promise for the differential enumeration of Grams positive and negative cells by incorporating suitable chemical inhibitors in appropriate concentrations in the test portions for rapid test.The technique has been exhibited to be applicable to field samples drawn from surface and underground sources of water. Its reproducibility and economics are comparable with “Standard Method” procedures.  相似文献

Alloreactive T lymphocytes that respond directly to foreign major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules and bound peptide are known to be central mediators of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) and allograft rejection. We have recently identified a peptide from the human protein, cytochrome P450 (isotypes IIC9, 10, or 18), that is recognized in association with human leukocyte antigen (HLA) B*3501 by alloreactive cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). These CTLs with this specificity were isolated from several unrelated individuals and were found to express a common T-cell receptor (TCR). Synthetic analogs of the cytochrome P450 peptide were generated by introducing single amino acid substitutions at putative TCR contact positions. Four altered peptide ligands were powerful competitive antagonists of these CTL clones, reducing lysis levels of target cells expressing the alloantigen HLA B*3501 by over 80%. This first demonstration that it is possible to suppress CTL alloreactivity with structural variants of allodeterminants raises the prospect that such TCR antagonists could be exploited within the clinical arena to specifically modulate GVHD and allograft rejection.  相似文献

Secondary electron imaging is not possible in the variable pressure scanning electron microscope because the mean free path of the secondaries in the gas is too short to permit them to reach the detector. This paper therefore investigates an alternative strategy for producing an image containing significant amounts of secondary electron contrast. This involves modifying the microscope by the addition of a biased electrode above the sample and then collecting a specimen current signal. This system, originally described by Farley and Shah (1988), is found to produce true secondary electron detail over a wide range of conditions.  相似文献

We discuss and implement a wavelet-modified maximum average correlation height (MACH) filter for 0 degrees -360 degrees in-plane rotations in a hybrid digital-optical correlator. Use of a wavelet transform improves the performance of the MACH filter by reducing the number of filters that are required to identify a target rotated at any angle between 0 degrees and 360 degrees in-plane rotations and enhances the autocorrelation peak intensity significantly. The output of a hybrid digital-optical correlator contains two autocorrelation peaks and a strong dc. Using a chirp function with the wavelet-modified MACH filter, the correlation signals are focused in three different planes. Thus placing a peak-capturing CCD camera at a particular plane, only one autocorrelation peak is recorded, discarding the strong dc and other autocorrelation peaks. A signal-to-noise ratio has been calculated as a metric of goodness of the proposed wavelet-modified MACH filter.  相似文献
