Monodispersed ellipsoidal hematite particles were synthesized and coated with silicone using a silane-coupling agent, phenyltriethoxysilane. The thickness of the silicone shell was controlled by the concentration of phenyltriethoxysilane and the presence of n-hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride, which was thought to modify the surface properties of the hematite particles to be organophilic. The hematite/silicone core-shell particles were strongly hydrophobic and had a good dispersibility and stability in toluene. Hollow ellipsoidal silicone particles were obtained by the dissolution of hematite with hydrochloric acid from the core-shell particles.  相似文献

Gyrotron FU CW II with an 8 T liquid He free superconducting magnet, the second gyrotron of the THz Gyrotron FU CW Series, has been constructed and the operation test was successfully carried out. It will be used for enhancing the sensitivity of 600 MHz proton-NMR by use of Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP). The designed operation mode of the gyrotron is TE2,6 at the second harmonic. The corresponding frequency is 394.6 GHz. The real operation frequency is 394.3 GHz at TE06 mode, because of fabrication error of the diameter of the cavity. The operation is in complete CW at the output power of around 30 W or higher at the TE06 cavity mode. There are many other operation modes at the fundamental and the second harmonic. Typical output power of the fundamental and the second harmonic are higher than 100 W and 20 W, respectively. The highest frequency observed up to the present is 443.5 GHz at the second harmonic operation of TE6,5 mode. The measured results are compared with the theoretical consideration.  相似文献

From the viewpoint of mitigating global warming by SF6 gas, this paper discusses breakdown (BD) characteristics of different electronegative gas mixtures with N2O gas as SF6 gas substitutes for quasi-uniform electric field under lightning impulse voltage applications. Experimental results revealed the positive synergism in breakdown strength of binary N2O / CO2 and ternary N2O / CO2 / O2 gas mixtures, respectively. Furthermore, N2 gas as a retardant gas was also mixed with the electronegative gas mixtures in order to reduce the electron energy into the effective levels of electron attachment ability by the electronegative gas mixtures. As the result, ternary N2O / CO2 / N2 and quaternary N2O / CO2 / O2 / N2 gas mixtures could exhibit the significant synergistic effect in breakdown strength. The optimum mixture rate of quaternary N2O / CO2 / O2 / N2 gas mixtures was consistent with that estimated by assuming the independent contribution of component gases to the improvement of impulse BD characteristics.  相似文献

Research on noise robust speech recognition has mainly focused on dealing with relatively stationary noise that may differ from the noise conditions in most living environments. In this paper, we introduce a recognition system that can recognize speech in the presence of multiple rapidly time-varying noise sources as found in a typical family living room. To deal with such severe noise conditions, our recognition system exploits all available information about speech and noise; that is spatial (directional), spectral and temporal information. This is realized with a model-based speech enhancement pre-processor, which consists of two complementary elements, a multi-channel speech–noise separation method that exploits spatial and spectral information, followed by a single channel enhancement algorithm that uses the long-term temporal characteristics of speech obtained from clean speech examples. Moreover, to compensate for any mismatch that may remain between the enhanced speech and the acoustic model, our system employs an adaptation technique that combines conventional maximum likelihood linear regression with the dynamic adaptive compensation of the variance of the Gaussians of the acoustic model. Our proposed system approaches human performance levels by greatly improving the audible quality of speech and substantially improving the keyword recognition accuracy.  相似文献

Nine scenes of SPOT/HRV data obtained in eight different months in 1997 were evaluated for crop discrimination in the Saga Plains, Japan. All images were atmospherically corrected with the 6S code. Annual Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) profiles were generated to characterize seasonal trends in six cropping systems (rice, rice-winter cereal, soybean, soybean-winter cereal, lotus, and rush). The dataset of this study showed the unique temporal change patterns of NDVI for each cropping system. Separability analyses determined optimal scene combinations for the highest accuracy in classifying the cropping systems. The scene combinations for the accurate classification of cropping systems were obtained from three separability measurements (Euclidean spectral distance, divergence, and Jeffries-Matsushita distance). Kappa statistics were applied to evaluate the classification accuracies. The four-scene combination that was derived from April, June, July and September classified the cropping systems almost as well as those combinations including more scenes. A colour composition technique applied to the three-scene combination that showed the highest separability also discriminated each cropping system. Based on these results, we can request observations during specific time intervals considering local crop calendars and environmental conditions.  相似文献

Spaceborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) can be used for agricultural monitoring. In this study, three single-polarimetric and four full-polarimetric observation data sets were analysed. A rice paddy field in northern Japan was used as the study site; the data for this site were obtained using RADARSAT-2, which carries a full-polarimetric C-band SAR. Soybean and grass fields were also present within the paddy fields. The temporal change in the backscattering coefficient of the rice paddy fields for the single-polarization data agreed with the temporal change obtained for a rice growth model based on radiative transfer theory. A three-component decomposition approach was applied to the full-polarimetric data. With each rice growth stage, the volume scattering component ratio increased, whereas the surface scattering component ratio generally decreased. The soybean and grass fields showed a smaller double-bounce scattering component than the rice fields for all the acquired data. The results of this study show that multitemporal observation by full-polarimetric SAR has great potential to be utilized for estimating rice-planted areas and monitoring rice growth.  相似文献

It was recently demonstrated that rat spermatogenesis can occur in the seminiferous tubules of an immunodeficient recipient mouse after transplantation of testis cells from a donor rat. In the present study, hamster donor testis cells were transplanted to mice to determine whether xenogeneic spermatogenesis would result. The hamster diverged at least 16 million years ago from the mouse and produces spermatozoa that are larger than, and have a shape distinctly different from, those of the mouse. In four separate experiments with a total of 13 recipient mice, hamster spermatogenesis was identified in the testes of each mouse. Approximately 6% of the tubules examined demonstrated xenogeneic spermatogenesis. In addition, cryopreserved hamster testis cells generated spermatogenesis in recipients. However, abnormalities were noted in hamster spermatids and acrosomes in seminiferous tubules of recipient mice. Hamster spermatozoa were also found in the epididymis of recipient animals, but these spermatozoa generally lacked acrosomes, and heads and tails were separated. Thus, defects in spermiogenesis occur in hamster spermatogenesis in the mouse, which may reflect a limited ability of endogenous mouse Sertoli cells to support fully the larger and evolutionarily distant hamster germ cell. The generation of spermatogenesis from frozen hamster cells now adds this species to the mouse and rat, in which spermatogonial stem cells also can be cryopreserved. This finding has immediate application to valuable animals of many species, because the cells could be stored until suitable recipients are identified or culture techniques devised to expand the stem cell population.  相似文献

In this study, the potential of wood-only (metal-free) load-bearing walls was proposed and tested based on the idea of using the same type of material throughout wherever possible while improving basic properties such as strength, sound insulation, and heat insulation. Specifically, a technique was tested of combining pressure sensitive adhesive tape and wood dowels in place of nails for load-bearing structures with panel reinforcement represented by wood-frame construction. For this paper, its strength was evaluated by conducting in-plane shear tests, which revealed that the initial rigidity and maximum load of the proposed test specimens were greater than that of specimens using nails for jointing. However, the shear load factor, which is calculated based on some strength parameters and which forms the foundation of housing strength design, was slightly lower than that of the nail-jointed specimen. This was because there was a large decline in post-collapse resistance and a lower calculated absorbed energy caused by brittleness. The early detachment of panels was also revealed as a problem in the tests.  相似文献
