A novel optical frequency stabilisation technique on the ITU-T frequency grid employing modulated sideband light is proposed. The L-band laser diode second sideband light generated by phase-modulation is locked to a carbon monoxide 12C16O gas absorption line; the original carrier is placed on the ITU-T frequency grid. A simple method for determining concentration (water or solvent content) dependent diffusivity in liquid foods and polymer solutions from the regular regime drying curve was developed on the basis of the power-law diffusion model. The method was first tested to the drying data generated from numerical solutions of the diffusion equation with various types of concentration dependent diffusivities. The present method was found to be very simple yet accurate compared with the previous methods. Then, the drying rates of various sugar solutions experimentally obtained were analyzed on the basis of the present method to determine the moisture content dependent diffusivities. 相似文献

We show computationally that the current-voltage characteristics of the zigzag-edged graphene nanoribbon (ZGNR) with the even width exhibit remarkable current saturation behavior in spite of the absence of the bandgap. Mechanism of such current-saturation behavior can be understood to be originated from the symmetries of the wavefunctions corresponding to the edge states in ZGNR. We further demonstrate that the current-voltage characteristics of ZGNR can be drastically changed even by the presence of a single lattice vacancy, with the strong dependence on the position of the vacancy. The origin of such properties is intuitively understood by analyzing the transmission probabilities through such systems. 相似文献

The equivalent circuit constants of permanent magnet synchronous motors are needed in the calculation of operation characteristics, construction of a control system, etc. These constants can be computed from the data on structural form and materials. However, measurements are necessary to obtain highly precise values. Methods for measurement of the d‐ and q‐axis inductances can be roughly divided into rotational and standstill methods. The standstill methods have the advantage that they are easy to carry out. However, it is difficult to consider magnetic saturation and distortion of the change in the armature winding inductance. The accuracy of the standstill method can be improved if these effects can be readily taken into account. This paper describes a standstill method for measuring accurate d‐ and q‐axis synchronous inductances of permanent magnet synchronous motors. By utilizing the fact that the EMF interference terms in the motor voltage equation considering the distortion of the inductance change are equal to zero when the rotor is in a specific position, the proposed method determines the inductances considering both magnetic saturation and inductance distortion effects from simple off‐line standstill testing. In addition, this method is capable of taking cross‐magnetic saturation into account when used with the necessary testing equipment. The proposed method was implemented on a 0.4‐kW interior permanent magnet synchronous motor with concentrated stator winding. Excess micromotion of trapped calcium ions was detected and compensated in our linear Paul trap apparatus for trace isotope analysis. The micromotion was detected by Charge-coupled device (CCD). camera and radio frequency (rf) correlation method. We found that 230 and 2280 V of compensation voltages were needed for x- and y-axis compensation in our apparatus, respectively. The z-axis micromotion was confirmed by the experiment and its cause was investigated by finding a shape of z-axis confinement field. The confinement field was indeed distorted in our apparatus and it gave rise to the trapped ion to shift from potential center. And the micromotion of r-direction was transferred to the z-axis by the distorted confinement field. The z-axis micromotion was suppressed by increasing cap voltage of trap. 相似文献

We theoretically and experimentally study the all-optical clock recovery performance using the primary or the secondary temporal Talbot effects (PTTE or STTE, respectively) in a dispersive medium having the first-order dispersion together with the second-order dispersion (e.g., conventional single-mode fibers: SMFs). Our preliminary numerical simulations have indicated that the STTE-based all-optical clock recovery technique can improve double its performance as compared with the conventional PTTE-based technique when the second-order dispersion (dispersion slope) can be neglected. The following simulation results have revealed that the second-order dispersion, that the normal SMFs possess, limits the performance improvements in the STTE-based clock recovery, whereas the limited performance can be improved by appropriately compensating for the second-order dispersion. On the basis of our simulation results, experiments of the STTE-based clock recovery were conducted by compensating for the second-order dispersion of SMFs used as dispersive media. To be specific, SMFs’ second-order dispersion has been reduced to the one-sixteenth of its original value by combining with the reverse-dispersion fibers (RDFs) which can provide the second-order dispersion of the opposite sign to the SMFs. As a result, the performance improvements in the STTE-based clock recovery was demonstrated so that the 10-GHz clear optical clock pulses were successfully recovered from 10-Gbit/s return-to-zero (RZ) pseudo-random bit sequence (PRBS) optical signals. 相似文献

The conditions of convergence in a modified Monte Carlo power iteration method to generate the eigenfunction with the second largest criticality eigenvalue, which was originally proposed by Booth, have been defined with a different approach. In this work, the first and second eigenvectors composed of two volume-integrated fission source intensities defined in two-partitioned regions are used for deriving the convergence conditions. The conditions of convergence as shown by Booth are found to be true in the limit of a small amplitude of the first eigenfunction. Following the method that uses two estimates of the second eigenvalue defined in two-partitioned regions, a new method for removing the fundamental mode eigenfunction from the fission source distributions has been developed. Because of the explicit removal of the first eigenfunction, the validity of this method is convincing as a technique for obtaining the second eigenfunction. Although this method needs the first eigenfunction and eigenvalue, and the subtraction of the first eigenfunction from the fission source distribution, it has the advantage that the adjoint mode calculation which is in general difficult for continuous energy Monte Carlo codes is not required. 相似文献
