The nonpeptide δ-opioid agonist BW373U86 (3 to 300 μg/kg) was tested in rabbits for effects on heart rate, cardiac orienting and Pavlovian conditioned responses to tones, and unconditioned cardiac and somatomotor responses to signaled and unsignaled shocks. BW373U86 did not alter shock-evoked somatomotor reflexes and had few effects on the development or retention of Pavlovian conditioned heart rate discrimination. However, BW373U86 appeared to modulate cardiac conditioning indirectly, by facilitating sympathetic reflexes evoked by the signaled stressor, and the dose effect was ∪-shaped within the dose range tested. The pronounced tachycardiac effect of BW373U86 was completely blocked, or rapidly reversed, by the selective δ-opiate antagonist naltrindole. BW373U86 was more potent in increasing signaled than unsignaled shock-evoked tachycardia, suggesting release of an endogenous substance (e.g., a δ-opioid) because of the Pavlovian conditioning contingency. Ultra-thin (<10 nm) gate oxides have been grown directly on tensile-strained Si0.993 C0.007 layers at a low temperature using microwave O2-plasma. The changes in gate voltage (Vg), flat-band voltage (VFB), oxide charge density (Qox/q) an interface state density (Dit) have been studied using a metal-oxide-semiconductor structure over the temperature range of 77–450 K. Inversion capacitance increases with temperature above 400 K, leading to a transition from high-frequency to low-frequency characteristics. The dominant types of charges in the oxide are found to be strongly temperature dependent. It is found that charge-trapping properties under Fowler–Nordheim (F–N) constant-current stressing are significantly improved with increasing temperature.  相似文献

The present study highlights application of Taguchi’s robust design coupled with fuzzy based desirability function approach for optimizing multiple bead geometry parameters of submerged arc weldment. Fuzzy inference system has been adapted to avoid uncertainly, imprecision and vagueness in experimentation as well as in data analysis by traditional Taguchi based optimization approach. Detailed methodology and unique features of the proposed method has been highlighted through a case study. In the present work, the metallocene‐based polyethylene–octene elastomer (POE) was chemically modified by solution grafting of acrylic acid in presence of benzoyl peroxide. The relative proportions of graft and gel formation were optimized through %weight gain, Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The gel formation in the POE matrix was found to be the prime competitor. The effect of grafting at its maximum level on various physicomechanical properties was thoroughly investigated, using X‐ray diffraction analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, mechanical, dynamic mechanical, and thermogravimetric analysis. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The effects of different parameters such as time, concentration, pH and temperature, on metal ion retention properties of the polymer have been investigated. Metal ion adsorption kinetics, isotherms and thermodynamics have been studied. A plausible mechanism for mercury ion retention has been suggested. Ultra-fine Al2O3 fibers were synthesized via electrospinning technique using PVP/ethanol polymer solution and aluminium acetate sol followed by calcinations at higher temperature. The formation, crystalline phase, surface morphology, fibers diameter and surface area of alumina ultra-fine fibers were characterized using FT-IR, TGA/DTA, XRD, SEM, TEM and BET analytical techniques. The results show that pure and crystalline α-Al2O3 ultra-fine fibers were formed with fiber diameter in the range of 100–500 nm and BET surface area of the fibers were found to be 40 m2/g.  相似文献

An extensive study has been conducted to elucidate mold behavior and its influence on quality during the continuous casting of slabs. The study combined industrial measurements, mathe matical modeling, and metallographic examination of cast slab samples. The industrial mea surements involved instrumenting an operating slab mold with 114 thermocouples in order to determine the axial mold wall temperature profiles for a wide range of casting conditions. A three-dimensional (3-D) heat-flow model of the mold wall was developed to characterize the heat fluxes in the mold quantitatively from the measured mold temperature data. Furthermore, heat-flow models were developed to examine steel solidification phenomena and mold flux behavior at the meniscus. Slab samples collected during the industrial trials were examined metallographically to evaluate the cast structure and defects. Owing to the length of the study, it is presented in two parts, the first of which describes the experimental techniques employed in the instrumentation of the mold together with the details of the industrial trials and mold temperature measurements. Also, the mathematical modeling technique applied to determine the axial heat-flux profiles from the measured mold temperature data is presented. It is shown that a fully 3-D model of the mold wall is needed to convert the measured temperatures to heat-flux profiles properly. The impact of program/erase (P/E) cycling on drain disturb in NOR Flash EEPROM cells under channel hot electron (CHE) and channel-initiated secondary electron (CHISEL) programming operation is studied. Charge gain disturb increases and charge loss disturb decreases after cycling under CHE and CHISEL operation. Carefully designed experiments and fullband Monte Carlo simulations were used to explain this behavior. P/E cycling induced degradation in gate coupling coefficient and the resulting increase in source/drain leakage, reduction in band-to-band tunneling and change in carrier injection area seems to explain well the behavior of CHE and CHISEL drain disturb after cycling.  相似文献

Graft copolymerization of delignified Grewia optiva fiber with methyl methacrylate (MMA) as vinyl monomer was attempted using ascorbic acid/H2O2 as redox initiator. Different reaction conditions affecting the grafting percentage (Pg) were optimized to get the maximum Pg (32.56%) of MMA onto delignified Grewia optiva fibers. Grafted and ungrafted fibers were subsequently subjected to evaluation of physico‐chemical properties such as swelling behavior and acid and alkali resistance. The rate expression for the grafting reaction (Rg = k [ASC]0.12 [H2O2]0.53 [MMA]0.05) was evaluated and a suitable mechanism for grafting was suggested. The overall activation energy of the copolymerization reaction was found as 11.97 kJ mol?1 at temperature range 25–65°C. Further, morphological and structural analysis of raw, delignified, and grafted Grewia optiva‐g‐poly(MMA) were studied by using Fourier‐transform Infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X‐ray diffraction, and thermogravimetric analysis.The tensile properties of grafted and ungrafted fiber samples were also reported.
