While sputtering has been shown to be capable of depositing aluminum oxide suitable for surface passivation, the mechanisms for this are yet to be firmly established and its potential realized. In this paper, we investigate the relationships between the oxygen in the sputtering process to the resulting composition of the deposited film and the surface passivation obtained. We find that surface passivation is not strongly dependent on the bulk composition of the film. Instead the results indicate that the interfacial silicon oxide layer that forms after annealing between the aluminum oxide film and the silicon is a much more important factor; it is this combined structure of aluminum oxide, silicon oxide and silicon that is crucial for obtaining negative charges and excellent surface passivation. 相似文献

In this experimental work, methane steam reforming (MSR) reaction is performed in a dense Pd-Ag membrane reactor and the influence of pressure on methane conversion, COx-free hydrogen recovery and COx-free hydrogen production is investigated. The reaction is conducted at 450 °C by supplying nitrogen as a sweep gas in co-current flow configuration with respect to the reactants. Three experimental campaigns are realized in the MR packed with Ni-ZrO catalyst, which showed better performances than Ni-Al2O3 used in a previous paper dealing with the same MR system. The first one is directed to keep constant the total pressure in both retentate and permeate sides of the membrane reactor. In the second case study, the total retentate pressure is kept constant at 9.0 bar, while the total permeate pressure is varied between 5.0 and 9.0 bar. As the best result of this work, at 450 °C and 4.0 bar of total pressure difference between retentate and permeate sides, around 65% methane conversion and 1.2 l/h of COx-free hydrogen are reached, further recovering 80% COx-free hydrogen over the total hydrogen produced during the reaction. Moreover, a study on the influence of hydrogen-rich gas mixtures on the hydrogen permeation through the Pd-Ag membrane is also performed and discussed. 相似文献

This article concerns the application of the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) to solve the energy equation of a combined radiation and non-Fourier conduction heat transfer problem. The finite propagation speed of the thermal wave front is accounted by non-Fourier heat conduction equation. The governing energy equation is solved using the LBM. The finite-volume method (FVM) is used to compute the radiative information. The formulation is validated by taking test cases in 1-D planar absorbing, emitting, and scattering medium whose west boundary experiences a sudden rise in temperature, or, with adiabatic boundaries, the medium is subjected to a sudden localized energy source. Results are analyzed for the various values of parameters like the extinction coefficient, the scattering albedo, the conduction-radiation parameter, etc., on temperature distributions in the medium. Radiation has been found to help in facilitating faster distribution of energy in the medium. Unlike Fourier conduction, wave fronts have been found to reflect from the boundaries. The LBM-FVM combination has been found to provide accurate results. 相似文献

A phenotypic and genotypic characterization of 84 Oenococcus oeni isolates from Italian wines of different oenological areas was carried out. Numerical analysis of fatty acid profiles grouped the isolates into two clusters at low level of similarity (63%), the minor cluster containing seven isolates besides the type and the reference strains. Forthy-eight O. oeni isolates, representative of the two clusters, showed no differences in their metabolic properties (heterolactic fermentation pattern, citrate degradation capability and formation of some secondary metabolites). Moreover, the analysis of species-specific randomly amplified polymorphic DNA and 16S-23S rDNA intergenic spacer region polymorphism as well as the sequence-specific separation of V3 region from 16S rDNA by denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis demonstrated a substantial homogeneity among the isolates. On the basis of ApaI Pulsed Field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE) restriction patterns, the 84 isolates were grouped into five different clusters at 70% similarity, but no correlation with the phenotypic groups could be demonstrated. However, by combining phenotypic and genotypic data, the 84 O. oeni isolates grouped into eight phenotypic-genotypic combined profiles and a relationship between the origin of the isolates and their combined profile became evident, so that a sort of strain specificity can be envisaged for each wine-producing area. 相似文献

New generation photovoltaic (PV) devices such as polymer and dye sensitized solar cells (DSC) have now reached a more mature stage of development, and among their various applications, building integrated PVs seems to have the most promising future, especially for DSC devices. This new generation technology has attracted an increasing interest because of its low cost due to the use of cheap printable materials and simple manufacturing techniques, easy production, and relatively high efficiency. As for the more consolidated PV technologies, DSCs need to be tested in real operating conditions and their performance compared with other PV technologies to put into evidence the real potential. This work presents the results of a 3 months outdoor monitoring activity performed on a DSC mini‐panel made by the Dyepower Consortium, positioned on a south oriented vertical plane together with a double junction amorphous silicon (a‐Si) device and a multi‐crystalline silicon (m‐Si) device at the ESTER station of the University of Rome Tor Vergata. Good performance of the DSC mini‐panel has been observed for this particular configuration, where the DSC energy production compares favorably with that of a‐Si and m‐Si especially at high solar angles of incidence confirming the suitability of this technology for the integration into building facades. This assumption is confirmed by the energy produced per nominal watt‐peak for the duration of the measurement campaign by the DSC that is 12% higher than that by a‐Si and only 3% lower than that by m‐Si for these operating conditions. We present techniques for accurately characterizing the frequency response and noise spectral density of integrated continuous-time filters. A 75-MHz fifth-order Chebyshev Gm-C ladder filter designed in a 0.35-mum CMOS process and packaged in a 40-pin DIP is used as a test vehicle to validate the ideas proposed in this work. When compared to conventional frequency response measurement methods, the proposed techniques show a significantly enhanced measurement accuracy in the stopband, while being less sensitive to package characteristics. 相似文献

One of the current challenges facing the particulate materials industry is developing simple, accurate models to predict sintered
properties. Work-of-sintering concepts, where time-temperature integrals are used in such models, offer a solution to this
problem. In this study, the master sintering curve concept is applied to several powder metal systems: 17 to 4PH stainless
steel, 316L stainless steel, nickel, niobium, tungsten heavy alloys with two different compositions, and molybdenum. A detailed
explanation of the construction of these curves is given, including methods used to calculate the apparent activation energy
for sintering and to curve-fit experimental data to a sigmoid function describing the master sintering curve. Discussion of
the results shows that the master sintering curve can be applied to powder metal systems, even those that use liquid phase
